That is a great feature, I hadn't thought of that one. I can't quite believe I am going to say this but well done Konami for that one :D it has been so long since I said that about one of there new ideas lol That is one thing which always annoyed me. The opposition would be pushing and pushing there would be space for your player on the half way line, you see him and you want to throw it to him only for your keeper to then throw it to a defender 2 yards in front of himself with about 4 attackers pressing him  not impressed! This feature will allow for much better counter attacks.

It seems I have been playing a different PES from you because 9/10 the keeper would do nothing with a ball floating just inside his 6 yard box. That is something I have always insisted that they do, make a skill card or attirbute. Something like commanding GK or command. What I mean by this is a goalkeeper who commands his 18 yard box, a goalkeeper who can claim a ball crossed into the box. I am sick of my keeper sticking to the line when you know they could have claimed it. The other one which annoyed me was when a cross was deflected and the ball spins up in the air for a couple of seconds. The goalkeeper will line himself up with it (usually behind a player for some reason) and when it drops completly flapping at it punching it too an opposing player, who has an easy goal scoring opportunity.

From what I am gathering you seem to think keepers are rooted to there line even more than what they have been?

Agree with the GK card point, would be a great addition actually. A card for keepers who command there box better than others or ones that are better with one on ones, coming off of their line etc etc. I'm not really sure why they haven't got the GK cards in right now really.

Played another game, the keepers so far certainly feel improved to me. Some new animations too, such as the 'splits' animation

Yes, and a heck of a lot of people say the games are sh*t, but still go out and buy the game every year. I was guilty of doing this for years, not no more.

If only games were as good as you think they are, I remember when they were, 6-10 years ago, when developers had a serious interest in making solid well made products.

Over the years, its been divide and rule, like many things, they have divided games up so that they can make even more money, that's why they sell game now in bits, you rarely get the full product now like you used to.

It's alright, I'm quite happy playing PES 6 and San Andreas on the PC.

^Make a european or japanese account and you should be able to play it and download it.

I was hoping to avoid doing that. I guess I'll find out later on today if the 25th is a worldwide release.

Are people buying these games out of habit? Addiction? Because other people buy them?

One reason: Because ya mama likes it that way.

My favorite part of your post was how you took the opinion of one anonymous gamer as gospel after a whopping two games with the demo. Brilliant.

Mate, I watched the first trailer and knew what the game was going to be about. It's always the same, it's been like that for years, don't let them pull the wool over your eyes! This game was a finished product 6 months ago.

And like always, when anybody says it how it is, people get butt-hurt, I've never known quite anything like gamers.

It's almost tribal.

It's embarrassing.

You will defend it with your lives, because thats what your lives mainly consist of, computer games all day.

Hmmm yes goalkeepers last game seemed to have limited skillcards. I don't know why either. I mean you could add cards such as - command (I already mentioned this), long throw and accurate kicking. These are just some ideas because I have see plenty of keepers who have these attributes.

Splits? What do you mean by that? I thought goalkeepers were getting worse to be honest. Particulary rebounds, (probably more to do with the coding actually) the opposition hits a shot and the keeper fumbles it away only for it to go to the opposition. I would say 7/10 that would happen in games I played. You could have about 6 defenders back and yet the keeper would still find that 1 forward in the box!! That was the biggest problem with keepers for me. The other one was how easily exposed they were with speed merchants. A simple turn with a speed merchant and you were by them with an open goal. Some keepers wouldn't even dive!

I have a question about the demo. Please tell me they have done away with being able to highlight 1 particulary player during corners and free kicks?

I'm gonna give it a go, but in my heart of hearts, I know it'll be no different than 2012.

I will try it as soon as the eu ps3 demo is out, but i wont give my opinion for about a week. Usually, straight i'm impressed by sports games demo's so with a week's worth of play, the initial "wow" factor should have rubbed off.

PS - WENB are saying the japanese version is out on ps3

Okay, it's safe to say there's no real point in even debating this any further with you when your immature response is "Oh, you defend the game because that's all your life consists of, computer games". Muppetry at it's finest

Splits maybe isn't the right word. I'm sure I haven't seen it in '12, but I had a shot near post and the keeper did the splits motion and pushed it away with his hands. Cant really say too much regarding keepers so far as I've only played a few games, but early impression for me is that they've been improved.

And no, you can still highlight one player. Highly doubt that'll be taken out any time soon.

Nah, not really. I've kinda moved on now after the shambles of 2012. If 2013 is more of the same, I will greet it with "meh".

Its different for me, I keep hoping I'll find that spark of enjoyment that earlier iterations brought. So far it hasn't happened. I keep hoping but ultimately get fed up with it.

i have allready got bored of PES 12. i gave up on playing that online about 6 weeks ago. when i play PES 13 later on ps3 if it is the same as 12 i think that is it i am done with PES untill next gen. from what i can see in the videos i have seen so far their is nothing on offer to make me want to hand over another 40 quid. in fact i might even go back to PES 10 for the rest of this gen if the demo lets me down

the strange thing is im a massive PES fanboy and so far the only thing i feel excited about where football games are concerned this year is the manager mode on FIFA 13 the preview for that is mind blowing.

SAD BUT TRUE

Not necessarily pointing the finger at you JMTD, but I can tell you for a fact that I've seen people defend this current crop of sh*t as if their life depends on it.

All these games that are coming out will be the same as the last lot, and the lot before that. It's just a circular never ending pattern, where the sales pitches are relentless and the games keep coming out, never really fixing the core problems with the game, but keep building on top of sh*t which equals more sh*t as it goes a long. Pro Evo is probably as good as it gets in gaming for Konami doing things for the community at no extra cost. It's not just Pro Evo, its the majority of games on the market, broken games that developers refuse to fix, because before you know it, they are already focusing on the next game.

It's depressing to even talk about. I'm just glad I have nout to do with games as they are at the moment, I may come back in 10 years time, if they sort this sh*t out. That's if I'm still here in 10 years.

Well, just checked PSN. I can't find it anywhere so I guess Sony are keeping everyone waiting.

Fuck sake. Considering how long it will take to download with the traffic on PSN, surely it makes sense to get it on early. More muppetry from Sony.
