I saw Abu playing the Winning Eleven version. He must be too engrossed with play to post about it
Hah, yeah I was playing the Japanese version because I was too impatient.
PES 2013 plays differently to PES 2012, eventhough it is graphically the same but I don't have that one game more feeling to it, as I'm already bored of it. I don't know if its the japanese writing above the players or the lack of atmosphere but in terms of gameplay, its the best game for football. The shooting and dribbling is excellent as dribbling feels more free and R2 feel magical whereas R2 shooting is just sweet.
I was Germany and passed it to Gotze (rating of 84 :shocking: ) who was wide open on the left wing and then cut in and I pressed the power bar till 3/4 full with R2 and at first it looked it was gonna float over but magically dipped and hit the crossbar. Shooting feels so satisfying, more than PES 6!

This has took me by surprise this demo, I like it from the couple of games I have played. It's much faster paced, passes go were I want them to go and shooting feels better. Very fluid game from what I have played.

The drawbacks are the ratings of teams/players and tactics. Anyone looked at the overalls for Germany and Italy? Italy are the best overall team in the demo, shouldn't it be Germany? Look at the technical overall for Germany, they are apparantely 10 points behind Italy? Really Konami? REALLY? I also noticed some players overall ratings, khedira 78 in the CM? Badstuber 79 CB? Come on these guys are better overall than that. These are only the players I noticed, I am sure there are alot more. Tactic wise it is the exact same as PES 2012 which disappoints me. Still no wingbacks? We are still limited tactically to what we can actually do. I want more to have more options tactically.

I know this is not the finished article yet but so far I have been impressed.

I just lost 2-1 to England, as Germany having dominated the game with chances and possession ... on regular. I have to admit I did enjoy it and there's clearly a steep learning curve here for me but first impressions are that this is certainly a step up from PES2012. I'm going to play a couple of games as Fluminese on Top Player and see whether its total bondage!

One of the big flaws I've noticed is your opponents defence can get exposed to easy, that's in superstar. Other than that I'm happy with the game.
Ill post a better review of the demo soon but can't stop playing.:joel:

Just drew 0-0 as Fluminese against Santos on Top Player. The PES2012 fanatics are not going to be happy with block tackling on PES2013, its so much easier to execute. It makes the game so much better than PES2012 which felt like a bloody choir attempting tackles. One thing I would say, alot of the players are obsessed with either attempting to flick the ball over a player or trying to pass it using flick volleys. Its a bit OTT at time.

PES 2012 was an OK game.

PES 2013 seems to have fixed alot of issues from PES 2012 tho, and added some things that were highly wanted by the community.

Overall from what I see PES 2013 is looking like a pretty good game so far.
I just hope they improved the AI because BAL mode was almost unplayable in 2012 due to your team being a bounch of ret*rds.

One ridicilous thing I noticed so far in PES 2013 is that the stats as someone before me pointed out are completely ridicilous, I mean thats not a big deal as you can easily fix them etc... but still, what kind of people does KONAMI have for making stats? They seem to have no clue at all about the players. Quite funny.

On a different note, did anyone figure out which players have the unique ID so far in the demo? And what unique moves do they have?
Why doesn't KONAMI offer some more information on this, I want to know which players will have unique things and which those things are and how they are activated.

Yeah, I've seen that flick quite a bit. D'Alessandro's a right cunt for it.
There will be big improvements for the next demo though so I'm actually hopeful of a good PES this year now . I remember how God awful the first demo was last year compared to the second demo.

Just drew 1-1 as Flamengo against Santos. Got cut in half for their goal ... still my own fault, rushed my defending. One thing I've got to say, Ronaldinho is an absolute beast, he will break out into auto shimmy's if you stand still with him, it looks cool as fuck.

What? A whole choir? Was it gospel or just a regular one doing cover versions?

I love the demo threads. So much anticipation and excitement. All the furore over the minute changes that may, or may not even make it to the final release copy.

The goals i've conceded on superstar mode feel like they've actually been properly scored and because of my poor defending unlike last years horrid cheat feel to the AI goals on superstar in 2012.
One thing i'm struggling to come to terms with is using the analogue stick on the ps3. My thumb just keeps slipping off eventually because of the shape of the top of the analogue,. You don't always feel in full control because you have to re-adjust your thumb every now and again compared to using a 360 analogue where you're always using the main part of your thumb all the time, no sliding about .
Might end up getting it for the PC because of the shit controller.

So, it looks like I am not the only one who sees a definite improvement over pes 12. This looks like the football game we should have gotten. So far, so good. My absence in football games have certainly made an impact because I can't even get my bearings into the game sometimes.

But shooting and passing and most of all FREEDOM are excellent. Manual is all I wanted. More semi auto than full manual. You direction mixed with the footballer's skill. It's great.

Though, I need much more time with it./ Oh and defending is how it is suppose to be now unlike the underpowered defending from pes 12. BTW, this does not play like pes 12. I didn't even play that game enough because I was bored of it.

It was a Roman Catholic Choir singing "God advocates Aids in Africa so don't use contraception you blasphemers." Something like that, I can't remember word for word ¬_¬

The demo is actually really, really, enjoyable. I just won 2-1 as Flamengo against Internacional after being a goal down. First time in years I've actually enjoyed playing a PES game. I just hope the 2nd demo is a pile of shite where they 'fix' things ... i.e fuck it up

I was an absolute PES fanboy from 3 through to 6. 6 was so good I didn't even bother to play 2008 or 2009, I just kept starting new master leagues. I did eventually get round to buying 2010 and I did genuinely love that game (it took up my entire summer pretty much 2 years ago while I had glandular fever). Both PES 2011 and 2012 disappointed me though so I had to bite the bullet and resort back to Fifa (which I hadn't done since the very early 2000s).

I've only played one game so far and I'm gonna give it a lot more time as I'm obviously now quite accustomed to Fifa, but I've gotta say, on first impressions it doesn't really feel like much of a step up from 2012. Relatively enjoyable match, managed to beat Italy with Germany 1-0 in what was literally the final kick of the game. I played on amateur just so I could get a decent feel for the controls and slowly work my way back into the PES style of play. Passing was fine, I do like the idea of you being able to control how good your first touch is, but obviously it'll take some getting used to. Didn't get round to trying the manual shooting yet (sounds quite hard), but the automatic shooting was abysmal. Again, I'm sure by now I'm quite accustomed to Fifa controls so I'll need to re-learn PES, but every shot just felt really weak and slow. I had about 15 shots on target, all but 1 of them Buffon saved with absolute ease.

Again, I've not given up on this yet, but I'm slowly starting to feel that the PES of my childhood (well, teenage years mostly) is now well and truly gone.

So basically, you're saying that it's crap if you don't play manual? This is a sign of a badly programmed game. It should be fun, challenging and interesting to play right out of the box. You shouldn't have to spend 30mins before you even get started altering crap like game speed, control settings, player stats etc etc to make the game remotely playable.

These people that say stuff like:
"OMG u guyz suk. Ur not playin it corectly. U need to [lists about 30 different settings changes] den its awsum!" This annoys me.

no, not at all. It's not crap if played with automatic everything. It plays very well and the passing and shooting DOES feel a lot better than 2012, but with everything manual it feels like a whole new game.

I'm not sure what a good analogy would be, but I think that it feels a lot like the difference between PES5 and PES6. 6 didn't change many things, but what DID change made it seem much smoother and playable than 5. This also goes for some of the differences between 2012 and 2013, defending feels a lot better. The AI dribbles a lot with the very skilled players (Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Neymar) but in general the feeling I get is that if they get through my defense it's like in real life football... not because the defense implementation is inherently cheating on me (like I did feel in 2012). As I said, the game in general feels a lot more fluid.

Just won 2-1 again after coming back from a goal down with Flamengo against Fluminese, Vagner Love with a tasty brace. It's been enjoyable stuff so far. I can't wait for the Master League now.

Also, I actually found Regular tougher than Top Player. Go figure?!

We can't be too critical of this demo or nitpicking little things because this is like a beta demo. I'll reserve full judgement until I play the actual game, but I like the direction they're heading in. This early code of PES 2013 is already head and shoulders above 2012 in every aspect.

I can't wait for the Master League now.
Thought the exact same thing. Usually only interested in online/multiplayer recently, but the A.I play nice stuff so the Master League mode could be restored to it's former glory unless Konami stick with the stupid shit from last years ML like overkill on crap cut scenes and terrible player training and other unnecessary shit.

Unquestionably, its been oodles of fun and I feel Konami have restored my faith in the franchise. Don't change too much for the next demo you bastards!

30 odd mins in I already liked the shooting, which I though has been poor in recent versions. I skipped pes 12.

Passing feels excellent I just need to relearn the game again. 1 goal in 4 games, too many long rangers :D

Please Konami dont completely change the final game. Ill be buying this year.
