Downloading as we speak. But Sminky & Mak both love it?? Consider me optimistic. Having said that, I quite liked the 2nd demo last season, but hated the full game.

Just won 2-1 again after coming back from a goal down with Flamengo against Fluminese, Vagner Love with a tasty brace. It's been enjoyable stuff so far. I can't wait for the Master League now.

Also, I actually found Regular tougher than Top Player. Go figure?!

As long as they revert back to the 2011 ML. 2012 was crap beyond all belief. Player development/training was completely cocked up, players getting unhappy too easily, redonkulous AI, stupid cutscenes.

The first touch and flick mechanics are splendid. The game feels and looks a lot smoother. It's nice to see players having their own, individual styles implemented into the game perfectly too. Makes using the likes of Pirlo and Ozil feel that bit more special, when compared to previous years.

The ':L2: arrow' you can use is a nice addition too, so you can put more precision on a pass or shot.

The biggest improvement for me, though, has to be the shooting. Was annoying on PES2012 how you'd only have to hold :square: in a bit and the ball would go into Row Z.

So far, so good. Good job, Konami! :smug:

Finally speed merchants are harder to abuse as Ronaldo plays more like his reallife counterpart instead of scoring a solo everytime he touches the ball.

Anyone notice though that the offsides are more frequent than normal. Not that its a problem of course

I don't know why but I have this ringing sensation in my ears in anticipation of Sminky coming back in a few days to tell us how bad the game is

Aye. That's a problem with PES, the more time you spend with it, the more of its horrible flaws you notice.

Not at all, this is genuinely a surprisingly pleasant PES experience, whereas I tried to like the previous two by making the best of what I could, this is something else entirely ... its fun.

Got it for the PC now and able to have 10/15 minute matches using a proper controller:ninja:, demo just keeps giving. Would go out and buy the game as it is.
Penalty shoot outs are almost identical to last year apart from maybe a couple of new celebration's, bloody hard to try and miss the target.

Oh man, I am just loving this demo.

Just won 2-1 as, yep Flamengo again, against Santos. After, yep you guessed it, going a goal down early doors.

This time I made the comeback on Superstar level. I'm still oddly finding regular level tougher than Top Player or Superstar :erm:

Vagner Love is a goal machine! Another brace and this time a 8.0 rating.

My first match on the english version of Pes and its noticably more fun, don't know why. I started on regular where I lost however switched to professional where I found it easier, like Sminky previously said. The goal I scored was brilliant as it combined teamwork and individual skill together - I had Ozil who turned a few defenders who played a quick pass to Reus who lofted it through to Schweinsteiger who finshed it off. Delightful

Also noticed they added some new skillcards such as 'Lunging tackle' and 'Knuckle shot'

all PES players you must watch this FIFA fanboy review the PES 13 demo from start to finish. its a terrible terrible game apparantly and he would advise everybody not to download it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsWlA6c-P84

He's such a fan boy it's unnatural, take note of him fucking the game out of it as soon as the CPU snaps his defence and scores.

And his comment about the CPU not making intelligent runs is pretty epic coming from fifa fanny.

I have played about 10 games so far.

shooting is great and makes the game what it is.

I dont see what else is different?

How do you perform the first touch thing?

negatives:

too many fouls still
too many offsides
heavy first touch

I appreciate its just a demo so hopefully they iron out the little things. players seem too slow to turn.

What controlling the ball or flicking it?

IMO, the first touch to control the ball is perfect as in 2012, a player with the technique of 60 could trap the ball perfectly so making it more loose and dependant on stats makes it more realistic. Game is way more fluid, skills are more innovative and possible to actually do to get past a player and build up play is better than before.

Speaking of controlling the ball, Ronaldinho is just immense, hold R2 with him and he dribbles and shields the ball perfect for holding up play. Just an awesome player on this game, a must buy on the ML.

Played 5 games or so. The king is NOT back in my opinion.

Still the same problems as last year, but now it looks prettier and the shooting is more powerful.

I keep mentioning the pre-determined runs that players make onto passes, this includes defenders trying to intercept passes played over the top of the defence - it's pathetic. If the cursor is over the player, I should have control over where he moves. But several times when I was playing passes/trying to intercept balls over my defence, I let go of the controller... and the player still moved towards the ball. This shouldn't happen! He should stay fucking still!
Imagine if I was playing Uncharted, and Drake still moved around when I put the controller down, how stupid would that be?

There's still some noticeable scripting. If you don't notice the scripting, good for you, but it is there.

All in all, in my opinion it's still incredibly shit, but less shit than 2012. I've deleted the demo already, will try the next one but can't see it being much of an improvement.
Definitely won't be buying PES2013 on the strength of this demo.

Most of you (judging by the comments) will disagree with me, but I couldn't give a toss.

I can't tell if releasing a demo this early was a good or bad move by Konami. Wise of them to get a good indication of what the fans think sooner rather than later, but at the same time if this demo really is different and 'worse' compared to what the full version will be, I also fear they've imprinted a negative view of the game into many minds which some people won't be able to shake (in that they won't bother with the next demo or with the game at all).

will play tonight, but in reviewing videos online I think I will be in your camp Ali. If we are forced to lose headers as turnovers repeatedly, or watch 50 yard bomb clears from the defense land on the CPU striker's toe I will be deleting tonight as well. as soon as I hear scripting this is what I think of. Watching a player run along a through pass for 10yards without ever receiving it so the CPU defense can step into it will be something else I will scrutinize heavily.
