Strange that some people says shiny and pretty then play PES, if you like to play a realistic football game play FIFA, and some people says completely the other way around, even most gaming site reviewer, that FIFA is good at presentation and PES is good at gameplay.

In my opinion, Fifa is absolutely great when it comes to presentation. The matches are getting more and more like real broadcasts. The menu, game modes and the licenses are also good.
But when it comes to Player models PES is much better with more detailed faces etc. The kits and the size of the fonts etc i like in PES more.
The biggest point is gameplay. Fifa improved a lot and became better over the years, but with PES 2016, KONAMI moved into right direction. PES is superior to Fifa in gameplay and Ball physics.
Both are good Football / Soccer games, but I prefer PES.

Great input! I do believe (as the OP said above) that gaming has to do with preference. PES vs Fifa is kinda lame since none of the games depicts what real football is.
But I stand by my opinion that PES has not forward in years. It is still a 16 directional game. Therefore, there is no realistic game play of such.
Also, the player models on the pitch are not the same models used in the cut scenes. Look it up.
PES spends a lot of time on the spit an shine of the game ....while the game engine suffers.

The issue isn’t the pes franchise. To me the issue is pes 2018, it’s just too buggy and laggy online to be enjoyable. 2017 played lighter years better online then this installment.

I just ordered it from Amazon and will be getting it tomorrow. I actually tried it at a friend's place two weeks ago and really enjoyed it. It is not perfect but it is enjoyable, and that is what matters the most to me right now as I am really disappointed with PES. I am tired of getting frustrated and angry because of PES, it is a game it should be fun and I should not be battling with the left stick on the controller to get a player to move.
I liked how you build your team in FIFA, being able to buy and sell players. And I liked that it suggests substitutions during the match and the pre assingning thing also. I really liked that you could instruct each player individually on how to play, something that doesn't exist in PES.
Looking forward to getting it tomorrow

I can understand that it is a matter of taste as I have always been a fan of PES, however the main problem with PES this year is firstly they decided to make it slow, like really slow, without changing anything in it, which uncovered all the horrible things with it, and secondly the extremely crappy online play, now if you add that to an already terribly slow game you'd get yourself a recipe for suicide.
What bothers me the most is that I feel cheated into buying PES this year, I tried the online beta and the demo and they were both okay and nothing like this crap. Although I suffered at times from playing online on PES 2017, it was miles better than 2018. I can't believe the audacity in which KONAMI does nothing about these issues, instead, they try to get new customers to overload the already overloaded crappy servers. Not only that, PES gets nominated in some website for the best multiplayer game of the year and KONAMI brags about it on twitter, it is a f***ing joke!

Fifa is Indeed prettier. But I also think it's slightly overrated at this point. After one season in Career Mode where i bought everyone i wanted to without any fight, i think it's funny that everybody are seeing a more "deep" Career Mode.
PES is lame in Master League. No doubt about that. But saying that FIFA is offering much more for a single player is not right in my opinion.
I am switching a lot between the two games. Actually im turned around a little. Went from thinking that this is a fantastic year for both games. No im not so sure..

Dieci plays both PES and Fifa ..and has done so for years. I only mess with him since I know he is good with constructive criticism. Play both games and whichever suits you ....suits you.
Continue to play both games and send feedback.
However, Fifa offers way more modules in terms of single player vs PES.
Fifa 18 Journey has been well received. PES offers nothing like it.
Career Manager mode more solid on Fifa.
Legends on Fifa now expands to PS4. However PES has Bolt which i love.
If you dont like the modes then I understand, but its night vs day between both games.

Not talking about the visuals, from the point of vue of gameplay alone, I think PES is so much more complex, (altough still very far from perfect, in some very uncompreensible ways...).
Fifa has its strenghts also, but the tactical engine is so much more enjoyable in PES, you can actually simulate every modern tactical option in a very accurate way.
Given the propper players, you can play gegenpress; tikitaka; counter atack; park the bus, etc... And the good thing is that the AI adapts to it, so a smart player will be changing its tactics according to the situation, and that is so fulfilling! You need to keep accessing your opponent if you want to stay ahead! (I'm talking about Single player)

I recently played fifa 18 a bit to check it out.
it looks epic
but my issues with fifa is the tackling feels just random.
I struggle to get the ball back? I try to time a tackle.
and then I miss the tackle my whole team goes out of position because of this and some how the other team is through on goal and scores. I then smash something!! lol

I had the same issue with Fifa. Tackling is easier for me in Fifa since there is a Contain button and a Jockey button to stay in front of the attackers. Then use the second man pressure to press for the ball.
Therefore, there is no running to players and pressing tackle or slide as this can easily be countered. The main objective is not to touch your defenders at all. I use midfield for my press and tackles.

I understand I felt the same way at first, however I (guess) I changed the settings and now when I press the tackling button a gauge appears and is filled as long as you keep pressing the button, this gives you time to time your tackle and if you change your mind and don't want to tackle just let go of it and the player doesn't get held back.
I thougt it was in the recent update but since my friend didn't have it I believe it was the settings. I will get back to you when I check it out.

I am sorry but at this point I think anyone who is fascinated by PES 2018 has a bad taste in gaming and more importantly has very low standards and would accept just about anything that is presented to him. Apart form how hideous the player movements are, how stupid the AI is and how unresponsive the game is, the worst of all are the scandalous servers that make online play a nightmare.

The "..hideous player movements" you describe is exactly what brought me back here to say how shocked I am that some are saying this game has "great gameplay".
PES 2018 remains a 16 DIRECTIONAL PLAYER MOVEMENT game. :w00t
How the hell can anyone say it has great gameplay when this game is solely the only game that is not 360 player movement.
Therefore the players move so sharply in each direction which looks and feel really really weird.
They have also managed to increase the size of the pitch a bit and reduce the player model for more space ...however all teams have reverted to spreading the balls the wings where defenders have no power. Almost like there is a force field around the wingers so the defenders do not tackle them. Videos have been posted about that also. :no:
There is no argument on the horrible online servers, hence players are reduced to playing only offline. Many accept that.
This game is going nowhere fast ....as always. Only a handful of players like the simplicity and arcade style of PES ....others like myself play Fifa.
Not attacking fans ...attacking Konami and its cruel evil way of taking money from it fans for an always unfinished product.

Last seasons, I was playing in Superstar level.
This year , it's very difficult to win in Superstar.
And when I try in Pro level, it's too easy.
