Anyways, I certainly wouldn't pay £399 just for PES7...and certainly not even moreso if I already owned a 360. But I will be getting a PS3, with PES being just one of the many reasons for it..

But I've set up a Live account, got a nice Gamerscore, downloaded quite a few arcade games etc etc, so even though I'm annoyed I have to pay for repairs, I've spent too much money on it for it to just sit there and get dusty...¬_¬

i no its coming out on the rest but i dont just solely want a ps3 for pes7 i mean its alot better graphics. i think the ps3 is really expensive at the moment but i am willing to pay that mainly with pes7 but also gran turismo as dan said.

I still don't understand how people can complain about the price of the PS3. I mean, you'll be playing the thing for the next 5-7 years.

Barely, the new Xbox will probably be released in about 3 years so the idea of the PS3 won't last too long I can't imagine.

The Playstation 3 will be awesome, oh yes it will be! I've been playing PES 6 on my cousins XBOX, dont get me wrong its good... bt i jst feel that konamis first PES will be better than the next installment on the XBOX... i feel PES belongs on the Playstation... anyone else feel that way?

I fail to fathom the Sony fan boy and Xbox fan boy debates. I own an Xbox and have done for yeras. I also owned PS1 PS2 and PSP. I feel anybody who swears allegiance to one or t'other is spiting themselves. I do not care what Console I own aslong as I can play the games I like. Also Xbox live is immense and is where all my pals are so this slightly leans me to Xbox but for me games make consoles.

You're spending a lot of money there, what with buying all of those consoles.
If you want to spend all that money, then that's your choice I suppose.
But some people are more astute when it comes to buying a games console. They tend to choose the best one not only for their gaming needs, but possibly even for their other needs such as multimedia use etc, etc.
And there are those that can't afford to buy more than one console. So buying their favourite console is the only option for them.

Granted but I don't own all know I have owned. Surely both consoles do a similar job? How do you define a best console? Most people I know do have a preference but they more often than not find out what games are coming on what console. Another winner for me is Halo.

halo got to be one of the best games ive ever played on. and ive never owned a x-box and was willing to buy an xbox solely for halo. but some games that are not on other consoles tempted you to do so. i know pro 7 for ps3/xbox 360 wil be amazing. but me im a playstation fan so i think ill stick to sony, but may consider getting a xbox for the shooting games, etc as i think they are way better than the playstations poor excuse for shooting games.

it will have to have something major that he 360 version doesnt have, but to be honest i probably still wouldn't. The only games i really want on the ps3 would be pro ev and gta....but i can get em on the 360, with loads of other good games

My God these 'best consoles' debates will never end. Commodore Vic20/Spectrum...Master System/NES...Megadrive/SNES etc etc. And now the debate is with Xbox360 and PS3! I agree with greenegg on his belief that games make a console. I've read from many technical sources that the Xbox360 actually creams the PS3 in most areas, but I will probably wait and buy the PS3 given Sony's huge popularity in the market. But maybe this dominance will be short lived because I think after a decade of Sony pissing all over its competitors it seems to have finally found a serious competitor in the Xbox360, and sooner or later the 360 might actually overtake them.

They won't be 399 in October... They are less than that now most places.
That's right I've even seen them going for £335. I seriously think come Christmas it won't be too much more expensive the the Xbox360. I can't see how it can compete otherwise. I think they're both too pricey because in my mind anything over £200 for a games machine is rediculas.

Haha the Neo Geo... I never got to play on one. I remember it was talked about like a myth because no one had one or could ever afford one, but we knew they existed. I'm sure if you had one at school you were everyone's best mate.
