Are You Going To Get A PS3

Some companies gave tramps money to buy PS3, so the companies could sell the PS3s at extremelyt high prices. Apparently, PS3 is going to cost £270 :shocking:

Earlier, PS3 fever hit hard, with consoles being sold for four times their original price around the world after the launch in Japan.

Canny businessmen paid poor people in Tokyo to queue to buy the new Sony machines so the consoles could be touted on the Internet.

The 60GB PlayStation 3s, costing £270, were launched in Japan on Saturday with a mere 80,000 units in stock and only five PS3 games.

With a European launch not due until next March, entrepreneurs quickly snapped up the models to sell them on at a premium – reportedly paying homeless people and migrant labourers to queue for them.

Britons who cannot wait were bidding more than £1,000 on eBay to get the console early.

Brian Ashcroft, of gaming website Kotaku in Japan, said: 'I saw homeless people waiting in Tokyo plus a lot of Chinese customers.'

Kotaku gamer Dirk Benedict said the Chinese were being paid up to £90 to stand in line.

There have also been complaints that PS3 can't play a lot of the games from previous consoles.

The item finshed at 1,220 pounds, its a shame that people are buying PS3 to put them on ebay just to make a few quid, quite greedy but then we do live in a capitalist country.

Anyways Resident Evil 5 will be on 360 aswell.

I only want the PS3 for one game, Metal gear solid 4, and I'm just hoping they port it over because 425 quid is just plain crazy (for me of course)

Why? Because certain games will be better on the PS3, and the 360 is rather naff, you can say I'm just jealous but I had one and sold it due to me thinking it was bollocks and in the end gave up playing games and used it as an expensive DVD player.

It was a little slow at the start, but now there are dozens of great games out. I think you should of held onto it, you're missing out on some good games. What games will be better anyway? Minus PES and other Sport games.

The only other reason i can think of getting a PS3 is for Resident Evil 5. My all time favourite games franchise but then you've also got Halo 3 exclusive to the 360.

PS3 is a must for me, PES is desiged around the Dualshock controller and will always work best for the game if you ask me.

I agree. The PS3 controller is easily the best of the bunch. The controller layout makes the most sense to me.

The only reason I'd want a 360 is because of Gears of War and possibly Project Gotham Racing 3 but I wouldn't spend money on the console just for two games. Almost every other game is multi platform.

Games such as Metal Gear Solid, Resistance, Unreal Tournament 2007, Gran Turismo, Tekken, Devil May Cry and Ridge Racer are one of the many reasons why I'll get a PS3 instead.

Looking to buy a PS3 around Christmas 08.

I'm quite confident that it'll be released in March 07 over here - now that it's been released in Japan.

Im gonna wait a while till the price drops and someone I know has actually bought it and given a straight forward opinion.
but my heart lies with sony I love my ps2 it has served me well no matter if its an inferior console to the xbox.

Nope, too much money, not enough awesome games out right now to warrant a purchase, and 360 has a superior online policy, which is what I play 90% of the time anyway.

I agree about the Xbox. Their controllers are just not designed for a fucking hand.

Im really pleased with my 360. Live is brilliant and the controller feels totally natural now. There's some great games coming out now and over the next few months so PS3 is not even a consideration. The only game that interests me on the PS£ is Gran Turismo, but i fully expect that to be the same old shit with bad car physics and wank AI. Forza Motorsport 2 should put it to shame hopefully.

Some of you Sony fanboys are in for a shock when you realise that the PS3 is not actually much different to the 360.

I'll be waiting for the price drop after Sony realises that they can't shift any consoles with the RRP at £400.
