Waiting....
I'll be waiting until after Christmas to get mine, so I guess I have enough time to see what others think about it. I may even wait until it's been reduced to about £20.

As shameful as it may sound, i wasn't used to buy original games up until i got my ps3, so i am not familiar on when exactly the game drops its price a bit. How long should i wait for it?

Give it two months minimum Gedo.

Game looks really swell, but how's the gameplay like? Is the campaign long or atleast interesting? Definitely has got the makings of a good game but how's it like really? Awaiting more reviews..

It could be as short as a month. PES was reduced within a month of release to £24.99 on Play.com. Usually it's a couple of months where it drops a bit or you can buy it as part of a deal. Probably about 4 months for it to drop to about £20, but it depends on the games popularity too.

The game play on a whole is good. a bit of the same thing after a while but there is nothing you can do about that.

the graphics are outstanding (I’m playing the 360 version on a HD at 1080i) everything look like you would expect it to from a next gen game.

the controls are very good you can do so many things but they are also very easy to learn, in the tut at the start it gets that out of the way in 5 mins but they carry on for a bit into the game until you have picked everything up.

Getting around sometimes pisses you off the house has a mind of its own sometimes, and it likes to get you into fight by smashing into guards but you can soon take care of them.

The stealth hiding if you need to lay low is brilliant you can hide out in the cart of hay till things cool of very good addition to the game.

You also don’t need to just kill people sometimes you have to pickpocket people to find out things.

all in all i would say it is a good game. Some people may not be happy with this game it all depends on how big and hyped about the game at the end of the day it is a game don’t expect anything and you will not be disappointed.

Completed the game last night after playing since monday.
Pretty good, i'm impressed with it.
If i can be arsed i'll go around the cities again to get the flag finding achievements and kill every templar to get the 1000pts

The ending in the assassin's era is quite predicatable, you can see it coming a way off.

Gameplay is good, your character has an amount of montum feel to him, you can't just bound around or sprint and change directions in a snap.
The free roaming building climbing is really nice.

Graphics are excellent, the city atmosphere and detailing is breathtaking.

To hide you can dive into hay carts and stacks, rooftop gardens, mingle with scholars or sit on a bench and blend in.
Scholar groups also act as a way to get past guards.

When you help a citizen their reward is usually a group of vigilantes (although sometimes its scholars), these guys will grab any guards that come after you in their area so you can either run away or kill them easily.

The throwing knives are quite cool, also when you run out you can pickpocket more from a thug in the city.

Beggars coming upto you in the street whinging about having no money and being hungry are nicely dealt with via a grab and throw if you wish.

The combat it a little too easy imo, even when you're a lower level assassin.
Insanely easy once you get the ability to counter strike, counter grab and dodge.

Finding information on your target can be done by pickpocketing, eavesdropping, interrogation or doing a task for an informant within the city district you're assigned.

Does start to feel repetetive as its the same thing 9 times over.

IGN gave the PS3 version a 7.5, the 360 a 7.7 and the Aussie IGN gave the 360 version an 8.7.

Seems it's a mixed bag, some are loving it, others ain't. Definitely not GotY like many expected it to be though.

Thanks. I think I might aswell get this game soon enough. When playing it, did you ever felt a resemblance with Prince of Persia? If it is anything like it then I'll take it for sure as I loved PoP.

EDIT: I don't know Dan, but do you trust in IGN's reviews??

The game looks good. Shame they don't sell many original games here. I would have bought it.

SDAV89, thanks for the 'mini review'. +repped. ;)

I've watched a trailer, it looks awesome. Especially the graphics.

I don't really trust IGN, I prefer Gamespot. ;)

It's been receiving criticism for the enemy A.I. GameTrailers shows you Altair surrounded by 5 enemies, all just standing there waiting for one to make a move, which you can easily kill them with a counter move as well as the blending in. They showed Altair killing a guard (With another guard right behind Altair) and blending in again which somehow the other guard is completely oblivious as to what has happened.

It's a shame because Ubisoft went for something really different and innovative while failing on the simplest of things. Still, after watching the review the game still looks worth it but it seems that the game got over hyped and could go down the same path as Lair.
