BAL - Teams and Players to Avoid

I thought I'd start a thread about this topic - couldn't find it anywhere else on this forum. Basically let us know of the teams and players that are completely hopeless in BAL.

Ajax are probably the weakest team I've played for. Two players to note on this team are Gabri and Suarez. I'm sure you all know of Gabri, Konami obviously don't as he couldn't pass to save his life. Suarez is a RWF and to be honest he should be shot. Terrible player!

Pavlyuchenko for Spurs is equally as weak as the aforementioned.

I made the mistake of signing for Dynamo Kiev also - unfortunately I couldn't stick it and had to reset the BAL!

Are there others...are there more teams for us to avoid signing for?

I thought Pavlyuchenko was good when I played for spurs....

Anyway, Obafemi martins is useless. Couldn't finish his dinner.

Martins would have difficulty finishing a two-piece large jigsaw. When I played for Newcastle I actually felt as if he had a personal vendetta against me, he rarely passed and when he did it was only when there was a defender around to cripple me!

There's a couple of players that I felt was very egoistic.

van Persie in Arsenal.

Raul in Real Madrid

Kezman in Paris St-Germain.

The list can go on but yeah, some players seem to be MUCH less cooperative than others. And it's not always linked to their Teamplay stat.

as hard as it is for me to say it, dont go with chelsea... i was waiting my whole career for this offer and i took it with out a blink, especially with the high salsry they offfered me, and the new great players they aquired: van persie, walcot, rooney, leto (i dont know who hw is but hes great), lemon (awesome GK) and many more inedibe players that i dont remember. i played for them and when i finaly made the starting team, they were extremly bad and we always had holes in our defence, nervous mid field that kept loosing balls, and a mighty attack that couldnt finish a 1-on-1. i played as a SMF but i never got the ball so i had to forget abot my teammates and had to take the game to my hands, what led to a quick loose in stamina in each game. im now at liverppol and doing great with many assists and goals. i suggest also to go with tottenham. they can get very good with the right players and you can fit right in with any position youre at.

Yeah I had a great spell at Spurs scoring over 60 goals in 3 seasons! I moved to Chelsea and I had the same problems as Alon - stayed for a year and moved to Milan, they were quite incredible. Kaka could pick you out in a crowd of PES clones!

I found Wigan to be extremely poor. But that was at the start of my BAL career. They were shocking, though.

Pavlyuchenko was awful in my time at Spurs. He was slow and sluggish on the ball. He would get caught in possession more often than not. He was extremely hit and miss in terms of finding the net. And he couldn't pick out a pass that was more than 5 yards ahead of him. Spurs are a brilliant team to play for, but Pavlyuchenko is their weak link.

Nani can be frustrating at times. He is either amazing or absolute crap. There ain't no middle ground with him, not that I've seen. He was woeful first half of last season, but amazing second half, especially during the run-in. He has out of this world stats, though, and that is what is so frustrating when he runs down a blind alley or misplaces a simple pass.

I wouldn't say Nani should be avoided, but I think his quirks are worth mentioning. I often go through the motions of harping for him to be sold, before later reconsidering due to more recent form and calling for the club to tie him down on a long-term deal.

There was a time when I played for Arsenal as SS and I felt that Adebayor is so selfish. He always trying to shoot / dribble even though I'm in better position. I feel saved when Eduardo came from the bench to replace Adebayor.

However I stay longer in Arsenal for the next season. As I score more than Adebayor, he become more "respect" to me and doesn't reluctant to give a ball anymore.

So I don't think this is something personal. Whatever team you use, there will be some players behave like this. But it will soon change as you play longer.

That just from my experience.

Me and Obafemi were telepathic together at Newcastle! ...For a while anyway. I know he can't finish, and rarely passes, but for one season suddenly he and I were linking up really well and he assisted to me on what was the best BAL/PES 09 goal I've seen yet. He dribbled a defender with a roulette, then dribbled some more and chipped a through ball to me for a sweet half-volley!

I was shocked, because before that he was terrible. After that goal he set me up for a winner the next game (actually passed it when I asked for it instead of shooting wide like he normally would), and the link-up continued off and on for much of the season.

I'd like to add to this, my favourite player to play with - Benzema. Love playing for Lyon with him in the side. Passes, dribbles, finishes.

Diego fuckin Forlan just does not pass a bloody ball to me. I swear he'll even pass backwards. Probably as a result of the fact that I have unseated him from his position with Aguero. Who for some reason has stopped scoring for the last 3 seasons that I have been there.

I don't necessarily think there is a "team" to avoid. Often when you join a team, they suddenly become much poorer anyway. I'm sure you've all noticed that when you play for your team, you literally have to carry the weight of the entire team - whereas when you're on the bench, or skip the match, your team play remarkably well and win. It's a flaw that Konami need to fix if they're to advance BAL for PES 2010.

I only ever played for 2 teams during my BAL career though, I was loyal to OGC Nice for the first 4 years of my career. My 4th season with OGC Nice was undoubtedly my best, however despite this, OGC Nice felt the need to cut off my contract and leave me hanging. I felt disrespected in all honesty, but soon after Manchester United gave me an offer and I didn't look back. Low and behold, when I left OGC Nice, the team became suddenly amazing again - strange.

I always felt a player called Harnik or Hansik, one of the two disliked me due to his sheer greedy nature up front. Was quite frustrating for a while to be honest. Although it became a bit silly with all the transfers, by the time I signed for United, they had brought in Van Persie, Gerrard, Eboue among others. It just didn't feel like Manchester United for obvious reasons which disappointed me.

The problem of your team being worse when you're in the side is pretty well accepted. A lot of people agree.

Personally, I think this was done intentionally because of the BAL player development system used in PES 09. I too hope it's improved for 2010, but I think the real problem is that they need to make your player growth more dependant on your performance (i.e. rating) rather than your team's performance. The problem is that your player gets better the more games you play, no matter how well you play, so if you're not having to carry the team then your player gets better just because the rest of the team is doing well, winning more cames to go deeper into club competitions, etc... Which is somewhat realistic, but what's the incentive to perform well then? :erm:

Adebayor was exceptionally difficult to play with during my time at Arsenal. As for the changed United you have there Hunter, I started a new BAL and put the transfer frequency on low. There have been little or no signings at all in 3 years!

I really had problems with Salomon Kalou. He loved ball so much, that never intended to give it to someone else, and when he finally did, It didn't cost you a thing.

Deportivo is a team I found very hard to play in, they deployed a 5-4-1 formation with midfield very far from me as the lone striker and made for a lot of headaces in counters, especially as it was my first team and stats were poor and I was inexperienced in the game.

I hated plying with Robinho, exactly like in real life he has poor awareness and game intelligence, he'll always take everyone on, release the ball late or hold onto it when he shouldn't to kill chances. Eto'o is also a ball greedy ***** but atleast he finishes.

My favourite players were Sneijder and Van Nistelrooy. You could give a crap cross to RvN and he buries it, just give him a chance and he'd bury it and he used to generally pass or be a part of the build up. Sneijder was similar and assists loads.
