You need to use any dvd drive to read the game disk. Just make sure you put the disk in the drive you select in the program, that's what I mean by 'correct'.

That sounds like it's warez so it's best not to try it or discuss it here. Didn't your slide card come with the disk?

oops yeah I edited my post. Yeah it came without the disk :( but I thought it would work out cheaper by only getting the parts and downloading the cd but I was pretty dumb. I just ordered the cd now, which comes with another slide card... I'm such a duh sometimes. At least I got a backup.

Hi Zyg,

I've got it all done (still seeding, btw), and I thought I'd patched it fine, but when I stick the disk in my PS2 (after Swap MAgic), I get the language, and PAL/NTSC questions, then I just get a blank screen.

Any idea as to what the problem could be. I used a SONY DVD-R, writing at 2x speed, using Nero 6, and I've used Swap Magic before (for imports only) without any problems at all.

Do I need to try again?

Not sure. Did you have any other programs running while you were burning?
It's best not to be running anything else at all. I tend to restart my PC before burning anything. Try it like that. And defragmenting your hard disk might help too. Good luck.

Nope. Retried it (ripped it, patched it, and this time I used Alcohol 120% for the burn), but I still get exactly the same problem. There isn't some problem with playing a patched version on a slim PSTwo that no-one's told me about is there?

I had nothing running, and closed as many processes as I could before doing the burn, which I watched like a hawk, and it seemed to go fine. I presume that my copy of the patch is fine, because it un-rared without any issues.

It has occurred to me that Alcohol 120% doesn't seem to have an option to finalise discs. Should I need to finalise a disc to make it readable by the PSTwo?

No, I just set it to PS2 and they work fine. I'm not sure if there's anything to do with the slim pstwo. Maybe it's worth opening a new thread in this section to ask others how they play patched versions on their pstwo.

Yes, you can either get a Swap Magic & Slide Tool, or a Flip Top, if you dont wanna get your PS2 chipped.

I aint sure where you have to put the Slide Tool, ill be buying mine in a few days, so im wondering the same.

Does anyone know how long the delivery is from www.ps2ools.co.uk and www.modchip.com.

I presume ModChip.com will take longer because it looks like the company is based in the US or some other country apart from England.

if your looking to mod your ps2 go for the infinity chip. its the latest and most reliable chip and has way more capabilities and advanced controls compared to other cheaper mod chips. not to mention less likely to mess your console up.

iv gotta magic chip. not sure which version but its been fine for years.

cant seem to load my patched PES4 with swap magic. keep getting message up saying "not ps2 format disk" even after trying the refresh TOC trick. any help much appreciated

Hi, i want to patch PES4 but what DVD's should i use. I dont want to spend a fortune on DVD's but what brand etc will be good enough to not screw the laser up. I know i have to use DVD-R.

Would this sort do, Memorex 4.7 GB 8x DVD-R Discs.
