Let it go mate........let your ego, go

Where's the ego. You called yourself a racing fan but prefer an American imitation (forza) to the best racing simulation in the World (gran turismo). You also fail to grasp the concept that about 10 years ago Gran Turismo introduced analogue accelaration, you can't say you prefer games on an xbox because they offer something that the playstation one offered nearly a century ago.

GT4 is more of the same shit(good shit though), you might as well get GT3, cheaper and almost exactly the same.(Except if you are a GFX whore)
And if we're talking simulation as in most realistic, there are 'better simulations" .
AI is one of the worst around. And I know you cant invent the wheel twice, but maybe its me, i expected more from such an established series.

The AI is extremely poor on Gran Turismo, I prefer toca, but the sheer amount of cars and their relevant driving styles, you can't beat gran turismo. My favourite's Sony F1 the difficulty, speed, AI seem just right and the tracks are obviously the best. The only problem is the slowdown when there's alot of cars on screen which hopefully won't happen on the PS3.

My favourite racing games are the F-Zero X games. 30 vehicles on the track and speeds of over 1000km/h on crazy courses. Love it.

I've got both Gran Turismo 3 and 4 but I've always tired of them relatively quickly. Too boring after a while, and as has been mentioned, plays host to some very poor AI.

Mario Kart 64 is probably my favourite racing game ever, but seeing as the reason for this is all the hours put together in multiplayer on the wonderful Battle Mode, then I won't count it. :D

To be fair, Sony are shit. Hardly, if any of the titles released on PS2 are their own, so XBox and Nintendo could easily get the same games. Sony rely on third party titles, unlike Microsoft and Nintendo, who have many first party and third party titles. Why is the PS3 going to be the best? Because it has a load of shitty games which Microsoft kick their ass with anyway? And Sony say it'll be more powerful, well, that's great and all, but the power will be wasted on shit games becasue they've spent no time what so ever on them. I prefer a lot of old games to ones being released now, graphics shouldn't matter, it should be about gameplay.

And I read above something about Resident Evil 4, it's being released on the PS2, not sure about XBox, but on the GameCube version, it's on 2 discs, but on the PS2 they've had to half the polygons, and still only managed to get it on 4 discs.

Your ego is about $ony. Fanboyish in a way. Games are games and everyone has an opinion. I allowed you to have yours, now grow up and allow me to have mine. ;)

Anyone ever tried FIA GTR?

I tried a demo few weeks ago. You dont know what hard is unless you've played this. Also, Richard Burns Rally. Cost me a new Xbox controller :cool":
GTR is great. Nothing comes close. Get yourself a nice wheel and you are good to go.

That's a bit embarrassing for Sony, actually.

Overpowered by a console that really doesn't look all that powerful at all. Hell, the N64 looks more powerful. :D

Sony do make their own games actually (SCEE). Also, how do you know developers spend no time on PS2 games? You saying no time was spent on GTA: San Andreas, MGS Snake Eater, GT4 to name but a few. And at the end of the day, if the PS3 does have more power, it gives the developers more to work with.

And all of these comments about graphics not being important. Well, thats rubbish. People are being blinded by nostalgia. One of my favourite games of all time was Sensible Soccer, which was the most playable of all football games at the time, but going back and playing it is not the same. Give me a next-gen footabll game anyday, because the gameplay is much better.

Some games are timeless although they look shit, like Tetris and Pacman. Graphics do have a certain influence on playability, but essential graphics are enough and no need for eye candy.

Due to an overkill of games on the PS2, the biggest part of them are shit; but no console is free of shit games. This Console Battle could go on and on and on; but no console will win it. Impossible.

You're talking like Gran Turismo is undeniably better than Forza.
