Death of dribbling

Just unlocked a tonne of legends and they're all class at dribbling. Quick, sharpe movements which yes arent very 'next gen' but they make the game so much funner, quicker and accessable. I hope they never change. If they did it just wouldnt be Pes.

Mate, honestly your whole logic is "FAIL".

Let's keep this simple; your point was that players like Ronaldo, Messi etc can skin players at will, when ever they pleased. Simply put I countered with the fact that, that is utter bullshit.

It is precisely as you say; less risky to pass to your team mate then to attmept to dribble all the time. You have contradicted your own argument becuase this is exactly what PES 2010 tries to reflect in the game; If you try to dribble most times you will succeed very rarely, just like in reality. Which means the Messi's cannot dribble past 3/4 defenders avery time, they either get crowded, out-muscled, tackled or fouled.

With practice it will be easier to skip past one or two defenders under certain scenarios I am sure of that, but it will be in no way as ridiculous as PES 2009 and ultimately that is what you want easy, unrealistic dribbling.

FAIL

I never said they can beat people at will - I just said they're capable of beating people and they could do it much more often than they do it but don't because blah blah. In pro evo I don't need the blah blah, there is no blah blah really, just flawed mechanics forcing you to play as if you're affected by the blah blah and your players are thinking independently rather than you being in complete contorl of them.

The outcome is realistic but not the whys or the wherefores. The reasons in real life they dont dribble so much is because of their own decision making not because every time they try to turn they have a parkinsons moment like what happens in pro evo.

You people who are adament that this whole non dribbling thing is great because in real life there isn't as much dribbling as in pro evo are completely delusional -IT'S A GAME WHICH SHOULD RESPOND TO THE DECISIONS YOU MAKE AND THE ACTIONS YOU TAKE.

In real life no one can dribble all the time and succeed. And no it's not their own decision to stop dribbling, but it's a decision they have to take because of the circumstances.

Yes but are they at least capable of dribbling? Sometimes it's just not really possible to dribble but sometimes they pass it instead for a nice flowing move when they could have dribbled. It's a matter of decisions *and* circumstance.

You are unable to do much of anything in pro evo because they fucked it up.

I find I can simply 'chose' myself whether I pass or dribble.

Just because they've made it more difficult does not mean it cannot be done.

Holding R1 and trying to skim every player just doesn't work anymore - thankfully.

Maybe you are just not good? I use Spain Barcelona or Man Utd. I dribble quite well with every player who has a good dribbling accuracy (75 +) Even slow-ish players like Berbatov can skip past players. Messi is my top scorer in ML...with 9 league goals in 9 games and i guarantee you 5 to 6 of those all come from a dribble from the left cutting in to curl it round a keeper. If i had time i would record a goal and post it to YouTube or something. Messi is untouchable whilst dribbling he is so good. I have yet to play with Madrid but like I said other lesser known player dribble well too. Obertan (Man Utd) is nifty dribbler also.

I swear the amount of bad things said about the game is unreal, and half of those things are not actualy bad but rather the player is bad. The referee is awful though...

LEGOFLAMB22 - The fact that every one is countering your argument; you'd think that maybe it is your style of play that is mainly flawed iand not the game. Yes, PES 2010 is far from perfect but I can certainly play the game how I want for the best part and when I want to dribble, I can but I don't succeed every single time like PES 2009.

... and for the record

WRONG - Messi and Ronaldo could beat the whole team if they wanted to but they don't.

Nice try.

At times yes, in pes 10 they could have made dribbling better, but overall it's much better than last year.

I think the dribbling is fine. I have to control a good player before i can dribble - I can't just take some random left back with 71 dribbling skills and run past the whole team and score..

This year they've changed the dribbling a lot. Because it's a console game, people would like to have fun playing it.
We were used to easily dribbling past 3-4 players with even a CB in the prevoius versions of pes.
I know some people may find it controversial that konami removed this (in fact this can still be done sometimes) but we can't argue the realism of this feature. In real life we don't see some defender dribble past 3-4 players (unless he's a great dribbler)

i luv da dribblin in dis game, its realistic, even da best of dribblers lyk da lyks of messi kaka and ronaldo cant go past 3 defenders ALL da tym. da pace of dribblin is jus ryt. i hope da tempo of passin is slowed dwn a lil tho, just 2 giv it a bit more edge

Yep, dribbling is fine. This game has alot of problems, but dribbling is NOT one of them. All those who think it is, stop your bitching and go and watch a Real Madrid game. Does my head in.

Nice try.

THE RESPONSE TIMES ARE COMPLETELY BROKEN - IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CHANGE DIRECTION AND HAVE IT ACTUALLY DO IT IN A TIMELY MANNER SO AS NOT TO GET TACKLED.

Messi and Ronaldo are still capable of beating a multitude of players, which we've seen them do time and again, but don't for the reasons I've stated. Pro evo mimics the outcome meaning all you can do is pass but not for the same reasons. Having the ability to dribble past most of the team and having the ability to do it at any moment are 2 different things.

In a 10 minute fictional game you should be able to dribble how and whenever you like, if you're good at it more power to you and if you whine about people dribbling get better at defending. I've never had a problem with people taking me on on pro evo because it takes one to know one.

The way I play the game isn't flawed - I win all the time on top player. If you really think the dribbling is good in this game you must be stevie wonder or a fanboy - yuou choose.

^You are right about the response. But you are really wrong on messi and ronaldo dribbling all the time and they don't because they choose to. It all depends on the circumstances. Pes 2010's response is not bad in all modes but in BAL that's when you see it at worst. But overall it's not that bad and you can beat defenders though not as you would like. They could have made better response I agree.

Actually if you go play online, and you are good at dribbling, Messi and company are still pretty much unstoppable and with good timing and bad defending by the opponent you can still run past the whole defense. I think the problem is lack of fouls and body collisions. Also, to dribble really well you need to slow down when facing a defender and make your move then accelerate fast. This is exactly how a real dribbler would dribble.
