Its amazing after all these years to still see comments like this.
Do you really believe that all these independent reviews are against PES or do you just hate the fact that Fifa is still kicking PES arse today.
Face it bro, only a handful of us still play PES because of its memories....today PES is shitte compared to Fifa...and that's not just my opinion, i speak for millions.
You guys are so contradictory. If Fifa 08/09 was a good game and the game hasn't changed since then ....(so many claim) then how is it a bad game today.

Maybe this is the reason why many of us left to play Fifa. The freaking game is broken, animations are horrid, shooting is dreadful, AI is...should i go on.

A football game where a player cannot do the most basic move in the sport? Juggle....or maybe the candy wrappers as the ball and player riding dinosaurs (unlocked) that is included in PES makes it much more realistic than Fifa. Do you like dinosaurs SDP? ...I do :blush:
I hope you get my point! Neither game projects any realism to real life football. We could both go back an forth about what is bad and good about each game, but in the end.....Its all about preference.
If you prefer outdated soccer (not football) play PES.
If you prefer an easier updated football game... play Fifa. Simple
If you like PES that is just great ....just don't hate on Fifa because it is on top of the world dude.
Maybe you can try Fifa 12 SDP...maybe some day we can have a guaranteed lag free game online. imagine that will ya :w00t

Hi mate. I kind of really got to grips with the first demo, but was like you when the second demo came out, the CPU response especially against teams like Bayern with Robben and Ribbery were just too quick and fluid for me. I started to get frustrated. Then it hit me, I'm sure the game is faster in the second demo!
Play the second demo at game speed -1 and you'll see an instant difference. I can actually defend again properly and feel it's a fair balance. I play on Top Player, assistance bar 1, all other assists off.

Seriously, I've played both demo's and my verdict is thus. Fifa has tried to copy PES with the pitch because of the way 11 played like 22 rabbits fighting in a hutch. Perhaps I should have played FIFA first and then PES, because the main problem now is that once you've sampled the PES AI, there simply is no returning. FIFA is still trigger run and one two trigger to get any kind of team mate movement. PES is just organic. The match unfolds, for and against you.
Listen if you want licenses and shiny dolls faces then go with FIFA, I'm sure they'll sell millions of units again this year. I'm not a fan-boy either way, I don't care. I don't care what you buy and you certainly don't care what I buy. I'm just saying that as a 'FOOTBALL GAME', PES comes really close to the mark this year. Really close. It took me 100 games on Top Player to get the hang of it, and I played over 40 games just against Porto before I worked them out! In the second demo, it took me fifteen games to win one v Bayern. Ribbery and Robben are out of this world. (Game speed -1 now by the way as it's too quick for me on speed 0).
FIFA World Class, I won my first game 2-0 as Barce v Milan. I mean f'kin come on man, seriously? Nothing changes in FIFA, the same exploits are there. Through balls now seem to be the new lofted through ball, it will be one even bigger exploit fest because the pitch is now bigger!
Listen the magazines can use their shitty rags as toilet paper, I don't care. I stopped reading 'reviews' off the 'experts' a long time ago, when even the early PES iterations on next gen were getting 95% for being utter shit fests. PES2008 in particular was just unplayable and Seabass should have been reported that year for releasing a game pretending to be football, it was a travesty. All the other PES releases have been poor also, PES 2011 changed that. It had some GLARING problems, AI cheating, poor player animations and movement, but under there somewhere was a football game at heart. So to me mag reviews mean shit. I've played these new games, both of them. Each to their own, but this years PES is one great game. Here's holding my breath that KONAMI won't do something stupid like oooh, I don't know, fk it up completely by giving it to the noobs who complain about defence and why the pressure button doesn't work!
If they hold their shit together, PES will be the one this year and the best game to ever be released thus far! Listen to the hardcore and you'll have a complete game for once that will have huge, massive replay value. In all yesterdays games on FIFA it was the same tired CPU AI over and over again. Yesterday playing PES you had Bayern and Spurs looking to ping balls from the wings and use their flank pace, combined with the dribblers trying to tear inside for the shot. Rangers were playing a predominantly long ball up to their target man (forget his name) who then punished me with two corner headers. Talk about variation in tactics. I only started beating Porto in demo one because I had played them so often, can you imagine having to learn all teams pattern of play!

even last year you guys said pes 2011 was better than fifa when it wasn't. i mean if you want realism go to fifa as they have better animations - players wiping sweat, mobilising their body, not running fast the whole game. for me pes is better because i dont care about animations as pes responsiveness is better than fifa, sometimes i see players that are 2d and look like there made out of cardboard putting hand through the ref which is totally unreal so fifa have better collision. the managers in pes look like cardboard and there zombies with mashed up eyes that stay the same whillst fifa the player movements are better. pes is getting there with animations but they just need to hire a better animater
fifa 12 for my friend that play fifa is the greatest fifa as now it has an impact engine which works and now each player has some types of vision card meaning players like fabregas can do their usual great pass and players like mascherano will have sloppy passes. also fifa ai has been fixed, not every team doesn'y play like barca, they play like their attributes and they don't keepy the ball for hours and play great footy now so fifa has improved and now you have to think before you score a goal - more possesion. something pes did have in the past
you guys are complainig because you can't play or you play on intermediete or beginner where you can just do anything and people like fifa have the same problem, they need to get used to the game.

I don't hate on fifa, far from it. Looking forward to fifa 12 but it cant offer me the joy that PES does. You never know fifa 13/14 might change that if it adds a proper momentum system, quality AI, inertia and player individuality, however the four things I have mentioned are some of the hardest things to get right in a football game.
If I criticize a game does not mean I am "hating", but a fanboy such as you will probably perceive it that way.

I would play FIFA 12 only they made the AI a little more creative. Upon playing the demo for a whole day; If I wanted to get a draw, i would get a draw in legendary difficulty; simply playing a careful defence and alowing the comp to hog the ball for eternity till the game ends. The game feels so one paced; a little more creative AI would open up the game abit more. For me it becomes stale and boring; not entertaining in any aspects. PES has that little oomph, diversity, depth and excitement to it.
I seriously recommend you peeps to try Fixed player mode. Playing as Gareth Bale on the left hand side at -1 speed is just orgasmic.
On a side note: From another forum, i heard from a person playing PES 2012 on Gamefest; the dribbling has been toned down; there is actually a better comparative difference between great dribblers and poor ones.

The more I play the demo the more times I see the game completely hijack my defender on corner kicks and just run him out of the way to allow an AI defender in for an open header, not pleased about that.

The biggest problem for me is the constant micropausing while sprinting or making turns. Shooting feels better as well as passing(when manual)
GKs are still on the poor side but not as bad anymore. I think this is the year PES passes FIFA as the best foolball game once again. If they could only fix the micropausing(xbox 360 btw) it would truly make it that much better for me.
