My impressions after a couple of days of playing
Improvements and additions that I liked:
* Dribble movement: the ability to get around players.
* Long passing: Awesome to see long curled passes hitting the target! :-D
* That the players continue to run/try to regain balance when under pressure, not coming to a halt like before.
* The ability to choose targets at set pieces.
Things that need improvement/tweaking:
*The GK's, making serious mistakes like standing still, not catching loose balls, too slow getting down, unnatural short reach at some shots, not holding the ball when they should etc. (In one game, De Gea ran away towards the corner flag when Ibra was on his way 1 on 1, extremely frustrating!) (I know keepers are being worked on.. )
* Some players are made too good, like Pato; he's almost unstoppable! Not fun to play against.
* Defenders should be harder to get around, if Pato comes against Vidic and Rio for example, he can easilly get past them, even if they "nudge" him and should normally gain posession of the ball.
* When playing on the same team as my mate on top player (we were United and played against Milan), the CPU got considerably better, almost unnaturally better. Didn't make ANY mistakes and was almost impossible to regain possesion from. It was like the CPU dropped helping our team in defence and concentrated everything on the CPU team. (This only happened agains Milan though, probably because Pato, Ibra and Robinho are too "overdone", got through way to easily)
* Some players are not made good enough, like Chicharito for example (72 overall..? :-/)
* Passing and shooting need to be tweaked.
* Some tweaking when players are recieving passes are needed as well, as well as general tweaking in movement.
Summary:
It needs better balance between defence and attack, at the moment attacking is too easy compared to defending, and keepers need a serious overhaul, but that is reportedly getting worked on. If the other negatives I mentioned gets worked on, this could be the best PES yet IMO! :-D Hopefully the next demo has sorted most (hopefully all) of these things.
Anyway; it's important to remember that this is an unfinished build, like a rough scetch. But if the rough scetch is this good, then I can't wait for the full game experience!
Oh, and one last thing; PLEASE Konami, don't release 100 different EU region versions like PES 2011, the best OF makers are generally in the UK, so those outside the UK can't make use of their awesome OFs, witch is really frustrating.. :-/
