Can people please tweet that @JonMurphy_PES guy on twitter about the XBOX360 version not having 2vs2 online. Even if you don't have a 360 and it doesn't affect you. It's a big piss take it's not there even if it doesn't affect people who don't use it. [use #pesQs in tweet]

I can't really get used to FIFA, i just feel so dirty playing it and i would like to back down of my high horse now and get PES but i'm not buying it until they include 2vs2 online on the XBOX360.

Cheers!

Btw you all know PES nearly always has something wrong with it. It is such a great game they usually get away with it. But they really do take the piss now. They could quite easily make a 10/10 masterpiece but for some reason they have to bugger something up every year. In my opinion FIFA has always been a crock of sh1t but at least they improve it every year and make an effort. It used to really piss me of that everyone bought FIFA when it was crap but i now think they deserve it and it is fair enough.

Why do you think PES keeps selling less and less?

IT's not just because of EA marketing money, official licences etc any more, it's because KONAMI are piss takers!

If we just keep on buying how will they get the message?

Wait a minute. over 200 games in pes 2012, and you hate the game with all its flaws. What?! why would ANYONE play a game they find boring and hate that freaking LONG. For me, i would never buy any fps games(the cod and halo kind, not the rpg ones ) ever again full stop. I used to like fps, but now everything feels so repetetive and boring. I mean, the only reason someone would buy a game is for its entertainment value. Despite any games flaws and niggles, if you did not like the 'fun' factor in it, and still play it, then there is something wrong with you.

The last regreted bought game for me is ff13 and mass effect 2. I couldnt even last more than 3 hours on each one.

dont be a fucking dick.. we play it cause its the only game shit about soccer... also we had high hopes this year because of all their advertisements and crap but still they deliver nothing but crap

i play to win, i play soccer, i do everything to win... suddenly if you find yourself playing attractive control soccer with chances and then the other team wins by crappy own goals and weird defensive mistakes, that pisses the hell out of me... and it happens very often in this crap game... i am not a kid trying to control messi and score... I WANT FOOTBALL

Defending is still the most frustrating thing in this game.
In Pes 2011 i hardly used the x, most i did was good movement and some pressure at the right moment. In PES 2012 it is more focussed around pressing curtain buttons in a curtain order and then time it to be succesful. I still do not like it allthough i seem to learned to work with it.

PES 2012 is in terms of fun gameplay a failure, there are not many people who like the adjustment and do not want to put in some time to learn to deal with it and i can fully understand that. The PES ultra squad who play it a lot can deal with it but the yes lifers do not.

i agree, defense is the first thing to be fixed, but also you feel that you dont have control of the players and their passes and their movements since its all pre coded

Online is a joke if you play the kids in the lobby. But it always has been. 2011: Barca, Madrid, one-twos, massive through balls and cutbacks all day long. 2012: Barca, Madrid, full assist passing ping-pong and silly dribbling. It wouldn't matter what Konami did, you'd never get a decent game off them because they're not interested in playing football, they just want to win at a computer game. They'll do whatever it takes.

If you play 1v1 on Top Player with the passing assistance totally off, and don't bother with the superteams (Barca, Real, Milan etc), and both of you are trying to play realistically, this is an incredible game of PES. Seriously - there are still issues with it, but they don't mean very much anymore because the whole game changes completely. It's very hard, pretty slow, takes a huge amount of concentration, and suddenly stupid goals don't happen any more often than they do in real life. Both players are forced to play proper football, and it's amazing.

Trouble is, unless you form your own community or seek out a fair-play online league where people are going to play like this (there are one or two of these on PS3, dunno about Xbox), you won't find many players like that. But the problem is definitely with the players more than the game. You'll see that as soon as you play it this other way... if you get the chance.

1 v cpu, that's a different story. The AI is pretty frustrating this year, it's good but it's full of little superpowered tweaks Konami have put in to make it more challenging. Can suck the fun out of the game a bit, although I've still had a few good sessions. But really, 1v1 unassisted simulation style is the only way to go. Sadly, most of the online PES world is not sufficiently mature to play this way... and I doubt it ever will be.

Then again, surely this forum is a good way of hooking up with other people who want to play sensibly? If everyone stops questioning each others' ages and talking about raping each others' mothers, maybe you could find a solution to your problem?

If i was a billionaire like Abramovich i could make the greatest game of all time. I would just poach a few of PES's key coders and then give them some proper instructions for once. Would be quite fun. Shame all these billionaires are weirdos.

Is it that hard to put a system in were accuracy decreases with power? Ie you can belt a pass or shot but then the accuracy decreases, instead of all these super slow passes and awful floaty shots?

Is it that hard to make the dribbling more like Kick Off, Sensible soccer etc, where you can lose the control of the ball whilst dribbling.

Is it that hard to make the crossing more like real life where the majority of them are awful, what is the cross success rate in most leagues? I think it's pretty low at best

I played PES on someones Laptop the other day and it seems like geeks sitting at home can mod it so you can actually shoot properly but the morons at Konami with all their staff and equipment can't, very weird.

Maybe because there are pretty much no other soccer games to play? And FIFA is the same crap.

Exactly....

Yes! That is it....Instead of common sense, you have to remember stupid button combinations to get your players to do the simplest things...

Most people play football games because they enjoy playing football which is pretty obvious. So technically, the only reason you would actually play the football game that long is because you enjoy the little good things that make it football. So in essence you can't live without football games, because you ENJOY the game. Don't lie to yourself, no one would play a game that LONG if they did not enjoy it. Many people ENJOY football games, simply because it has a "football" element to it. For you, if the game plays nothing like football, why play it? I mean you wanted to play FOOTBALL right?

Oh yeah, I forgot there are people that bitch about the things they enjoy or love, people just love nitpicking flaws and niggles in anything, yet they still buy and use the product/service. And people who rant about every single flaw in absolutely anything(nitpicking) just because they are frustrated or angry. Sorry about that. It's just that i'm a little over the edge over the ridiculous amount of pessimism over the game. I'm still trying to understand why people do this things. Some people in this forum make it as though the game is absolutely atrocious and there is absolutely no way it could entertain anyone; and thinks that anyone who says the game is good is just blind.

No one would buy a game with no entertainment value.
Everyone plays to win simply because winning is fun.

The game is far from perfect, though still provides decent entertainment value for anyone who enjoys football. A lot of games get on people's nerves, that does not automatically mean that the game is poor.

By the way, stop insulting directly, it does nothing to support your argument. It seems as though you're trying to pick a fight with someone. In a way it forced me to respond :lol. Heck g221911g just had to make a challenge by posting his pointless W/L record on multiple threads.

i like a global challenge such as online league with everybody to prove who's the best... but with this online joke game... its frustrating and makes me upset

Yep, the new defending controls only allow put you on the rails/precoded movements. You don't even really defend this year, you hold a button that makes your player auto-follow the attacker.

Man your wisdom is enlightening....

Try understanding this: I love football, I want to play it on a videogame. There are only two games to play. They both suck. One is slightly better IMO. I try to give one a chance by settling through the learning curve. I do it and win quite a bit. The game still sucks and has the same fundamental flaws it had in PES 2008-9.

Now I paid for the game, and have a right to critique it all I want. Your nonsense conclusions are laughable at best. From your last two statements, could I confer that every game that has a winner is fun??

Secondly, the only reason that I would play the game that long is what?? Please stop with your high school psychology.

I also notice that you continue to come into the thread where people are complaining to tell them what's up.

I could return your opinion like this: I don't see why someone who likes the game would spend their time in a thread with people who DON'T like the game.

The fact that you don't see the irony in what you just said, sums you up perfectly....

I was starting to think the game was crap...but now i realise, the whole reason this was, was because i couldn't tackle or get the ball properly. Figured it out now and the game seems alot more enjoyable...online also

Can I point out what a bunch of sad, moany g*ts you all are.

I have been playing Pro Evo/ISS since the days of ISS Duluxe on the Mega Drive and I think this game is up there with the best of them

This is by far the best FOOTBALL (the next person who calls it soccer and claims to be a true football fan, I'm gonna scream!) game to have come on the new gen consoles.

if you know how to defend it is not actually that different from previous pro games, and if you wanna stop crosses use the R2 (PS3) run to square up to players. one major difference is that you can no-longer be cheap and just knock a player off balance and run off with the ball - just incase you didn't realise thats a foul in REAL football! Another difference is you actually have to aim and time your slides - how shocking that in a football game where you want realism you have to think like real footballer and slide at time that makes sense and you have a chance to get the ball

for attacking I don't understand how anyone can say the shooting is bad......you have to judge player position, power, angle to the goal, left/right foot etc etc...just like REAL players do in REAL life. The free kicks are better than they have been since Pro Evo 2 and penalties finally make sense again.

I admit that running does feel very smooth when playing with Messi or CRonaldo but they are the best two players at running with the ball in the world so you would expect this to be the case. What I dont understand is people complaining that they run through their defence too easily......if you can't stop them you're just not good at defending......accept it and try and improve. I dont use Barca as they are the only team I can gaurantee to beat online 80% of the time (this is because idiots just run with Messi all day and you don't have to worry about them being able to actually play football agaisnt you.)

The online has GREATLY improved with lag and the like but I notice that hardly anyone has bothered mentioning this!?!? Also nobody has mentioned the hugely improved features for selecting players while defending!?!? the improvement in your players not 'homing in' on the ball and alowing you to control their run up to the ball!?!? How about the fact that you can actually take a throw in now!?!?

I readily admit that the new game plan menu does feel like your about to launch the starship enterprise, but does this really matter?? and I admit the online still could do with some improvement in terms of 'an error has occurred' but we all know that if Konami had EAs money and servers this would not be a problem.

At the end of the day this is, IMO, the best football game available at the moment (don't bother bringing FIFA up! I'm not 10years old).

To those who say that NBA games or NFL games are better.....I am an avid Basketball player and used to coach, I also have frienbds who watch a hell of a lot of NFL....they are two much easier sports to translate to gaming consoles due to the fact they don't have to waste memeory or processes on adding the same amount of players. They both only have American leagues. Also NFL games are basically turn based and Basketball games don't require weather or the same amount of players on the pitch/court.

Oh and to the absolute idiot who said this game will be down to £20 in two weeks because no-one will buy it....try and find a copy in a shop in central London!!! dick!

No need to go calling names now is there? Whats the point of getting all lippy on the internet? You think i'd just let you call me a dick to my face? Anyway fighting on the internet is like.......

So your opinion is fact and no one is allowed to disagree with you?

Lets see if it goes down to £20 in the next few weeks then.

Ali

It is happening again
Please please please will someone tell me that this game becomes enjoyable? I've only just bought it today, and the thought of trading it in has already gone through my head!
I've played PES/ISS for donkeys years, but this has been the first one to fill me with such rage on my first bloody day!
So many problems with this game.

-The ball physics are waaaaaaaaaaay too floaty, and the shooting is crap, and I will ignore anyone who says otherwise because they've clearly never seen a real football match. I'd like to slap the bloke at Konami who was satisfied with this!

-Players running on to passes is a major problem for me, with the whole thing being automated. This becomes an even bigger problem when the opposition tries to play a through ball through the centre of your defence. There's been several occasions where my defender has just trotted alongside the ball whilst I'm desperately trying to get it.

-The scripting is just fucking ridiculous! I've only played exhibition games so far, but I've seen every AI goal coming a mile off!

Usually with PES and me (especially recent versions), I start off really liking it, and my love will fade over time. This year, I've started off hating it and feel like I've wasted 30-odd quid.

play it Ali, play it, love it like a child that you never wanted. I really like it despite its problems. The first day I got it I felt the same - heck my wife walked by on the first match and asked what was wrong with it and she never once played the game.

but the addiction is growing in me.

I'll try, but after it's left such a bad first impression, it's gonna be tough. What gamespeed do you play on btw?

I quickly went to -1, zero is so skatey, but -1 was such slow passing I went back to zero. After sometime, 0 speed didn't seem as fast. I played my first two online games last night (one month after buying it) and was eskeered it was going to be lightning but it wasn't that bad. I have to wonder if the second DLC didn't quietly change the speed because it was that exact time I felt like zero speed wasn't as bad.

and Ali, be sure to shut down that assisted passing. I play it with one bar actually but full bars is ridiculously arcadish. as I mentioned on some other posts I thought I had to put a coin in the side of my TV to play a second game.
