Does Anyone Else Think They've Ruined ML?

Ali

It is happening again
This game hasn't got off to the best start for me, to put it lightly - I haven't found it particularly enjoyable so far. Despite PES 2011's problems, I found it to be enjoyable on the most part.

My one saving grace was going to be the ML. So I start, I'm greeted with countless pointless cutscenes. Then I find out that they've messed up the training. It was perfectly fine last season, I don't know why they changed it. Out of all the things I wanted changing in ML.... that wasn't one of them. Don't get me started on international matches.... what purpose do they serve other than to knacker up your best players before a match and fuck all your plans up???

I played my first couple of games and then I quit. Just quit. Without saving. That's the FIRST time I've ever done that in a PES game.

After such a horrible start, I don't think the game will ever redeem itself in my eyes, which is worrying because that means I'd be without a football game a the whole year!

Your basing your opinion on the ML after a couple of games?

The ML has always prided itself on longevity, the development of hidden gems, and the personalisation of your own created team. You make a judgement call after a couple of games, and state that PES 2012 is unlikely to ever redeem itself?

Well, after struggling through 10 exhibition games so that I could gain enough points to buy the ability to use real players in my ML squad, so I can begin a league with Bolton (as is tradition), I was hoping that I'd jump into ML and fall in love with the game again. After 2 games, I'd just had enough. I've been quite patient with this game so far, considering it has pissed me off in this past week more than 2011 did in TOTAL.
I just think they've cocked up ML by adding too much crap to it.

Have you played ML yet? If you haven't.... then maybe you shouldn't be judging my opinion.

Amen.

The training is so basic, definitely a step backwards.

The player progression has been ruined, at least on 2011 you would be told what stats improved each week. You get absolutely nothing on 2012. Tbh it's gone backwards ever since they stopped showing the little bars for every stat going up after a match, like in 5 and 6.

Don't get me started on the cut scenes.

I'm starting to get to grips with the gameplay, but as you said the beloved parts of the ML have been ruined.

my ml has been ruined and i've started again 3 times.
you know why, because of 1 reason -
Player progression - every single player regardless of their age started to decrease even though i played them week even ganso, palmieri, shimizu. only 2 players have increased and they were +30 yrs like distin and heitinga. it ruined ml so much and i doubt their decreasing because of peformances, probably because of that stupid training thing. also, i put a lot of players in transfer list and loan list and know onw has yet made an offer thorugh the first season and the transfer frequence is set to medium. i thought football life was promising half a year ago and know i just wanna stick to mlo even with it's problems or club boss which i'm guessing will bore the heck out of me after a season or two.

From what I've been hearing, it isn't up to scratch. And I agree, for the most part I did enjoy ML in PES 2011 but I'm glad I didn't buy this Pro Evo for once in my life.

Didn't like the demo and the only thing that keeps me playing is ML, so no use playing the game for me.

Cutscenes: Really annoying. Like 200 cutscenes during transfer period..allways players complaining..yet no information on player development -_-

International Games: Was the same in 2011, and i think even 2010. And hey, you want realism, there it is ;)

Training: They should've done a mix of this year's and last year's version, as it is in real life: You have team training -> affects every player. Still each player has also individual training.
They could've at least give an option to set a training plan for the whole season. But manually changing it all the time.. :/

Still, ML is not that bad, after you figure out how to train. After a few games, teamplay improves and you can actually win a game or two. Definetly needs more effort to be successfull than in 2011.
I'm just pissed right now, because I can't progress over January 12th in season 2012-2013. Music plays, i can zoom in/out, background animation running, but the schedule is stuck at that date -___- (big time)

They did not ruin Ml because players do progress and actually pretty quickly at certain age. However this is a step backwards and oversimplified I dont get why they did not leave it the same as in the previous version. So many cut scenes is stupid and childish. I laugh when I think about programmers implementing them.

i still don't get it when my players are playing really good and i've won 4 games in6 in the epl and still every youngster stats are declining. i find it really weird distin is improving as he is 33 and now he is 84

I wouldn't mind if they actually made it realistic, ie had a proper international week and not have your players coming back knackered every time. I have a feeling that if you had 23 England internationals in your team and they all went off for international duty, they'd all come back knackered.

I like it that they've added a proper calendar to ML..... but then they go and put an international game on the thursday before the start of the season

Agree on that. Forgot the bad timetable management ^^

BELIEVE
Wait till a player comes back with a injury!

I hope that's the case!

Of all the ML seasons I've played over the years, I've rarely had players injured. I think there was maybe one PES where there was a decent quantity of injuries (I remember one of my team's midfielders being injured for the entire season). I want more injuries, lengthier injuries.

It provides more of a challenge, and forces you to really create a good level of depth in your squad.

Don't worry, player injuries happen a lot in ML, also long-time ones (my longest was 23 weeks). At least while you have those low-level therapist/docs, which increase chance of injury and decrease healing time

yup, in my 1st season with the default trainer and doctor, i had injuries almost every other week, and players were out for at least 2 wiks and as long as 20 something weeks, but now with the 500,000 pound trainer and doc, dont get injured that often and some are out for just a week...
