Having broken up my long time love affair with FIFA (FIFA10 manager mode killed me) I saw the light and made the change to PES for PES2010 (Master League... wow!).

I soooooo wanted the FIFA11 demo to be bad so that I could stop thinking about my ex... and not have to bother buying both games this year.

But after playing both demos at least 15 to 20 games each I must admit the FIFA11 demo is much much better then I expected and has me thinking I might make a few booty calls to FIFA11 which means sadly I have to purchase both games!

For the record though after playing both demos I feel PES2011 will offer me a far more long lasting, deeper & loving relationship then a good'ol one night stand with shallow but sexy FIFA11. So I can see myself buying both and playing PES2011 about 80% of the time... =)

I've long been a fan of pes, since the first pro evolution on ps2. Every year we would buy each installment, play and have fun. That changed for me in 2008/9 when I tried FIFA 09. It was everything I wanted of a 'next-gen' footy game, so has been faithful to FIFA for the past couple of years now.

I downloaded both demos at the same time, but was more eager to play pes as I didn't know what to expect. Sooo I did the opposite n played FIFA first.... Had a game, pinpoint passes, nice goals, felt like a pro. Mission done.

On pes, I played it and I was shit! I didn't enjoy the passes going out for throw-ins all the time, every tackle was a foul, and the shooting felt like I was using a jabulani!!.... I loved it! I loved the fact that I had to THINK before pressing the pass button! Learned the values of good defensive positioning so not to face the referees rath and shooting... I support arsenal so usually pass the ball into the net :p.

For me, the freedom of the passing is the best bit, just like when you watch tv and a cb spreads the ball outwide to a fb (a few paces ahead of him) that can be done. It's completely different to a through pass.

All in all I'm glad pes is back! FIFA is (as always) better presented, but the customisation options, along with flexibility of play, + new animations wins me over! Both good games (competition this year will make pes/fifa12 better) but I'll be getting pes :)

Not read the other posts cause I cant be bothered.

But here is my take on both demos and what I think is wrong/needs improved with them...

FIFA 11:
- too similar to FIFA 10/WC 2010
- I never play FIFA against the CPU anyway I only play online but in the demo it's just too congested & the games are very scrappy.
- For some reason the opposition are stronger/faster than my team (eg. John Terry outrunning Ronaldo)

PES:

Now I havent bought PES much in the last 2/3 years because its been shit to say the least (imo) however the demo is interesting!

-Overall I think PES has done wonders for itself here because while FIFA havent improved much since last year, PES has dramatically which is why I feel a lot of people might go back to PES this year.
BUT, some things really need worked on

-Advantage rule. FIFA has this spot on, while it is in PES it isnt used properly, niggly fouls are always either given as a FK straight away or not brought back at all.
-The keepers seem to fumble absolutely every & any shot that's hit towards them, needs fixing.
- Doesnt players' pace matter??? Im trying to run past a player with Messi/Villa yet Van Buyten is easily keeping up with them? hmm...
-The penalties, I mean what the fuck? The camera angle is god awful & the actual penalties are shit

Thats all I can think of the now but I know there's loads more.
