Are any other career mode players obsessed with signing random youth players, or is it just me? I've just signed a 73-rated 19 year old from Brighton for £11m.

By "youth players", do you mean players added to your youth squad, or young players in general. I used to lose patience with youth squad players, as they couldn't get near my team. The only players worth trying out were defensive players (defenders and DMs), as attackers were just useless.

Yeah, I mean the fake youth players.

I normally try to sign and then loan them out if I can. I have a few decent ones. A 17yr old 74-rated gk and a 20yr old 76-rated midfielder are the pick of the bunch.

Were their rating originally in the 70s? In the past, the players I signed where high 50s to low 60s, at best. Even when I loaned them out, they'd come back with no or little change to their ratings. This is even later in the manager career, where I've invested in better scouts.

Hopefully you get better you development in FIFA 15.

Midfielder was probably low 60s to start with, keeper was high 60s. I've seen it where some players ratings go up quite a bit when out on loan, and some don't go up at all. I wonder if each player has some sort of hidden development curve (if you cast your mind back to PES ML).

I've been playing online seasons recently. I got consecutive promotions to D1, with D2 being a walkover (won the title without losing a game). In D1, I went into the final game of the season needing to win. I was winning 3-2 and then deep into injury time, I conceded the most infuriating equaliser I've ever seen. My opponent was playing all out attack and lofted the ball into the box. My defender headed it weakly forwards, off another defenders back, back into the air, my GK decides to dive to the ground, leaving an easy headed goal, with no challenge. I kick-off, the whistle blows, season over.

If I won D1 in my first attempt, I would've ejaculated a lifetimes worth of spunk. I've played two seasons since, both just about ensuring safety. I think I need to take a break from this bullshit.

You should play PES.... for slightly less bullshit.

I've actually bought PES during Black Friday, just not got round to playing it. The demo was OK. It felt a little unresponsive, so I'm hoping they fixed that for the final build. I'm planning on trying it this weekend.

I've finally gotten around to acquiring FIFA 15. Finding it easier to win games online this year? I went straight online for my 1st game and won it relatively easily.

Mind you, I have been playing the odd drinking game uni here and there, so it's not like I went in out of my depth.

Well it's likely that most of the people stuck in the lower divisions, in seasons, will be newish to the game.

I'm gradually losing interest in Ultimate Team and have started Career Mode with St. Pauli (on Legendary). I'm in February and undefeated, but second to 1. FC Köln (also undefeated). I was expecting it to be a lot harder, but it's easier than FIFA 14. I'm getting way too many penalties. My right-back is my PK taker and he's my top scorer. I think I got penalties in about 5 consecutive games, with 2 PKs in one of them.

Also, on the topic of PKs against CPU GKs, I've noticed that you're highly likely to have your penalty saved if you go to the bottom corners, but it's pretty much a guaranteed goal if you go top corners (on target, of course). Against human GKs, it's a lottery, unless you use do that thing where you aim it high and slightly to the side of the GK.

I managed to get pretty good at PKs. Just power it into one of the top corners. Rarely fails.
