Well what can i say i got the game via alternative method :)

now what can i say 1st of all.. the presentation of the title screen is pretty cool if u ask me.

Before you start a match you automatically go onto the team selection.

some of the player graphics or animations are pretty cool

the game play seems very slow and accurate at the same time...a lot slower then WE8LE, for some reason the game pplay reminds me of ISS 98 on the old PSX :/

the dribbling engine seems a lot more complex this time around...you find yourself actually thinking 3 or 4 kicks ahead.

looked at chesea and arsenal kits they look great.

Heading is a lot easier in this game as well...crossing i have my doubts on sometimes.

overall its a great game...its just needs a better review from someone

looked at the edit mode and there is some cool features like you can have your shity hanging out or you have the option of bicycle shorts on.

You can also show a plaster on your finger to indicate you have a ring on as such.

the original boots are:

adidas F50 (3 different colours)
adidas predator pulse 2 ( 3 diffenet colours)
adidad patique (2 diffenet colours)

got some cool new hairstyles in as far has i know none of them rediculous pictures on ur head

What seems to be the biggest improvement? Are there any new parts to editing for example, in the gameplay is there any new tricks etc? Whats wrong with the crossing?

well the crossing is a little weird it seemsthe cross goes way to far over your head, but when you do connect the headers are pretty cool. on the editiing mode as well you have the option of a polo neck underneath your football shirt ;)

No new major gameplay changes then. I remember when I got the last version I was surprised by the change in dribbling. Polo neck sounds pretty cool though. ;)

PS: Does the cross still go too high if you double tap circle instead of just pressing it once?

I'm guessing the Arsenal away kit is last years blue one? Hopefully that'll be updated for PES5.

Will you be able to load WE8's option file to save doing as much editing?

er please tell me the game play is different i remember being surprised at the change from pes2 to pes3 and the changes between 3 and 4 also does it have new shot animations cause its really annoying in pes 4 when the player seems to tap the ball but it go's off like a rocket.

I would like to ask one more question. Why is this so important? The guy who started the thread probably expected, and is more than likely pleased to answer a few questions, seeing how he has the game already.

I think the forum will get along alright without having to curb behaviour constantly... no offense ;)

Oh well whatever. Keep doin your job... I guess having ten thousand threads about the same things could get annoying.

This game is amazing.

I'd have to disagree with the previous poster, the gameplay has changed dramatically.

The pace is DRAsTICALLY slower. A very pleasing and realistic way. Passes are much slower, making reactions, moves, cuts, headers much much smoother. A plethora of new animations that change the atmosphere. Speaking of atmosphere, there are even short cutscenes after you score a goal of the crowd cheering. Detailed bodies waving your jerseys and flags. Crowds react when you enter the danger zone, crowds cheer when you intercept the ball. Crowds go mad when you hit the post. R2 shot is very very very curvy. Goalkeeper may have difficulty holding on to it, making rebounds easier. Analog passing is much softer, so no more screamers that go to the 5th row. Crossing is more difficult, basically because 3/4th of the bar goes a LONG way and timing is more of a demand. Heading is somewhat easier as well as volleys. Graphics are smoother, less jagged edges, good lighting. PRetty noticeable difference. New animations after fouls. Underdogs have better oppurtunities at winning. PLayed Japan vs. England for 2 games. First game lost 3-1, second game won 2-1, all on 5*. All of my goals were won on finding holes and finding spots, which are easier to exploit with the new passing styles.

Again, you'd be surprised at how smooth this game is. Very realistic this time around.

Seems like Konami have implemented the new offside rules. If you haven't heard of the new rule check here.

The gameplay is perfection. They have improved on all the bad aspects of Liveware, from the subpar crosses, to the sensitive refereeing which made Liveware extremely tedious at times.
The keepers seem class too. Have yet to see idiotic positioning, the dashes they make for the ball are effective as they actually aim to get the ball, whilst in past games they would be running as if they were blind-folded.

Heres my impressions:

What can I say, Konami have done it again, easily the best game of the series and well worth the import costs, and thats my view after only a few matches. I haven't really looked around the game yet except play a few friendly matches so these impressions will be based on gameplay mainly.

The game is slower paced than PES4 and WE8, WE8LE. The speed of the game is perfect. Dribbling is a lot harder, I can hardly get round players which is a welcome addition as I thought dribbling was too easy in WE8.

There are tons of new animations, just little things but it looks brilliant. The way the players shield the ball and roll the ball backwards and forwards with their feet, it just looks great. The game 'feels' alot different compared to previous versions so you really need to get used to this new game.

Defensive AI is a lot better, in the games i've played i've only broke them down a few times and managed to get a couple of shots in and scored a couple of tap ins. I'm playing on 4 stars and find it soo difficult to get a clean break. The AI will track off the ball runners and get goal side. In PES4 if you do a one-two most of the time your player will be clear, not this time. Not just defensive but attacking wise they'll send wing backs flying forward, play in little triangles, do tricks. I think its a great improvement.

I haven't had any decent shots on goal, except tap ins so can't really comment on shots, but theres tons of animations. I've ballooned a few way over and probably out the stadium too haha

Collisions are great. Players can shield the ball great this time, not just on the floor but for headers too. You can take players out by running into them, not just holding down X. You may get a bit peed off with the amount of free kicks though but it'll teach you to only make a tackle if you know you will get the ball

The ball seems heavier, it bounces alot more. It doesn't seem to be 'on rails' as much anymore (same with players). You can overhit passes alot more now, so you have alot more freedom imo.

A great thing i noticed: When I was Chelsea playing Arsenal, Lampard had posession in midfield. He managed to play the ball through to Duff who was clear and he scored a simple tapin. The goal was replayed and then the view switched to Lampard who was rolling on the floor. It replayed him getting taken out when he passed to Duff previously!

Oh by the way, the replay views are higher now and also you can select your default view (Wide, Long etc) for replays.

An amazing thing happened in my final match last night. I had possession in midfield in the opponents half. All of a sudden the ref blew is whistle and went running into my half. The view switched to my opponents player rolling around in agony. It then replayed a challenged from a while ago. He must have been down injured and play carried on until the ref noticed! Then after the replay, the ref was where i had possession, he dropped the ball and their player kicked the ball back to my keeper. It was pretty amazing to watch!

Here's a small video i made of the drop ball:
http://www.danny18.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/dropball.3gp

Chelsea and Arsenal are licensed by the way, with their new kits. Transfers are not that up to date (no Robinho @ Real, Viera still at Arsenal). But these can easily be fixed.

Thats all I can really comment on at the moment, I only managed to player a few games but will be playing more tonight after work.

Nope, the new yellow arsenal kit is in :D A few of the arsenal players have new faces too such as Bergkamp and Fabregas...

Another small improvement i like is the entrances to the pitch... At highbury, the arsenal fans hold up small red and white squares, like they do in real life sometimes... It looks spectacular.

Just want to say that the game is very good, not a massive improvement from WE8LE but from PES4 it is a alot better. Graphics are tweaked and noticeably different, gameplay is far smoother adding to the realism and the pace has dropped rather than constantly 100mph it switches in between 20mph - 90mph making it much better. The ball physics are also another thing that have changed and are now almost perfect.

Those are just my first thoughts and things i most noticed, i may post some more later, I guess im one of the lucky ones that received my game a day early! Good job again konami

The more I read the more I want the game, seems the realism is improved yet again and the most thing that Im happy with iss the crowds reaction to gameplay and that this time the crowd do roarrrr when the ball hits the post.

Its so important for atmosphere.

First WEManiac Review Of Winning Eleven 9.

First off I'd like to say how impressed I was with the FMV as it gave me a sense of readiness to play what I have been waiting for for a year. I was then to pass the usual title screen and I pushed 'any' button to continue. My choice being X. I went straight to an exhibition match knowing that my team Chelsea were finally licensed in the game I love so much. I took a quick glance at memorial mode yet was confused by the japanese characters which i was greeted with. However I journied on and it was set Chelsea V Arsenal in my first go of Winning Eleven 9. I chose what options I could make out and tried to work out what weather condition was snow using the best of my judgement. I then look for the pic of Stamford Bridge under stadium select and was greeted my some information about my home ground. I set the clock to 15 mins and pushed O to continue on. Instead of that poxy menu where you can accidently skip formation settings, I was welcomed by the formation screen itself. I skipped this (not after taking Drogba off though!!). The loading screen appeared and my heart raced. The time had come. It loaded and I was suprised to see I had managed to select snow and was welcomed by the warm faces of John Terry and a much improved Eider Gudjohnsen jumping about in the tunnel. The fans clapped as the two teams were led onto the pitch by their respective captains and I was ready to go. I changed the camera to Wide as I always do and proceeded to kick off. Oh My God the smoothness of this game is matched by no other, the speed has decreased slightly, yet the game flows like a river of evian. I make a few passes and am tackled strongly. Pires goes in the book. I whip in a cross and smash in an overhead kick with Eider Gudjonsen!!!! What a way to start my Pro 5 career!!!! A few subtle differences in appearance such as the Hud around the screen and more inforamtion about players. Yet it is the gameplay I am stunned by. I have fallen in love. I substitue Joe Cole for Robben on the 38th minute as he is under performing. But not the usual subs FMV appears I'm greeted by a disgruntled Joe Cole who ignores Robben and continues on into the tunnel, kicking his feet as he walks. Half time approaches and I cant wait...... To Be Continued.

And by the way the Arsenal Away is the new Black and Yellow one and The Chelsea Away is the new one to be released in December.
