The 2 major faults in Fifa 2010 i have are that running past a player is not an option. Im sorry but in 70-80% of cases you get mauled like a 5 year old at a scout leader convention and there is no space in fifa atall. It just feels so slow and in 2010 it seems like i get closed down every nano second and then i cant run round the oncoming defender because fifa is broken so i have to pass it off. Rinse and repeat for 3 games and im so bored i might actually watch channel 5.

Even when i play with my mate in Fifa 2010 it just feels so boring. When i score it like 'So what'. In pes when i nail a 20 yarder the build up has happend at fast, realistic speed so when it goes in my heartrate is already high because of the tempo of the match is high thus making me go crazy whereas in fifa my heartrate is so slow i think i may have medically died.

Just played the Fifa demo! Sorry but it was atrocious! The grpahics are shocking, Messi looks like a ghost! I (by mistake) made my goalkeeper throw the ball out to a player but an opposing player got a hold of it and scored into an open goal! The nthe commentator said 'great counter attacking play'. Commentary was off! Celebrations was off, Messi scored for me and ran into the advertising boards then the next scene shows him running towards the advertising boards.

The 360 movement felt like 16 directions! Poor, poor, poor! And too slow for me! Pro it is!

I have been playing Pro evo since the very start. I would either rent Fifa, before the generation of downloading demos, just to see how much better PES was. However, this year I think Fifa has massively developed from the arcade style it used to display.
Anyway to my point, I am seriously considering buying Fifa over PES this year because the aim of each game has reversed. Fifa was always considered the more arcadey game and Pes was the simulation of football. I just hope PES 2010 will go back to its roots and embrace the simulation aspect of it. Roll on the demo and fingers crossed that it wont lose the die hard pes fans like me.

I had mixed reactions for fifa 10. There were some things that I didn't like, but 360 movement is great. Although it didn't feel 100% 360 degrees.
I have to play it more.
As for pes. Well I'll still get both games when they come out because overall fifa 10 is better than fifa 09 (but I have to play it more) and pes 10 will definately be better than 09.

I know, before you all gun me down, its a bold statement to jump ship after all this time but i've been looking at videos and they just seem so much more advanced than PES is right now. The kits, the graphics and now even the gameplay.

Take a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wGzryPg_ag at tell me i'm not right!

Surly not based on the fifa 10 demo, its like looking at fifa 09, i think ea as usual has over hyped the 360 degree movement thing. I think you should at least give the pes 2010 demo a go when it's released.

It's funny that PES 2009 definately was a PES 2008-2, whereas FIFA delivered an extremely solid game with FIFA 2009.

And what do they do? They release FIFA 2010, which actually is FIFA 2009-2.

A tad faster and more fluent, that's all they've improved.

What a failure.

Firstly, the game won't be considered a failure.

The demo is an earlier build than the journo's have played for a start, and there was never going to be a major overhaul to the gameplay from 09. That was never promised, and not needed either, I don't think.

What was promised, was a fully fixed Manager Mode. It was the main focus of FIFA 10, yet from what's already been shown in the demo, they've put a lot of work into the gameplay too, fixing some niggling issues.

Very impressed with it, personally.

ea only miles ahead of animation..but gameplay pes is miles ahead than fifa..with card system in pes 10 that's gonna make the game much more tactical..play the demo all players play the same way, they doesn't have their individuality like pes have..

Where are these new animations? That surely can't be PES 2010, it looks completely identical to 2009. It's such a shame that PES has become so inferior to FIFA, back in the days of PES 4 I never thought I'd see the day.

Konami got lazy and now EA are miles ahead of them.

There are some new animations.I understand that you wold like a completely changed game, but this is the way it is and it's not too bad.I'm glad they've changed the captain arm band, not large anymore, and the shorts are fixed too,not basketabll shorts like in PES 2009 from what I've seen in some videos.

I disagree completely, the gameplay of FIFA 09 was good, FIFA 10 seems even better. And thats a good thing compared to PES's now very samey gameplay. Nothing has changed since the first current (next) gen PES was created. Konami are very lazy and don't show that they've spent enough time and effort in making a game they know would knock FIFA off it's perch again.

Fifa 09 was far from perfect and to say 2010 is better, your correct but only slightly better. Not, 'i'll go and spend £40 on a new game' better. There are some horrific things in fifa 2010 like player models. Their legs look like matchsticks and even Klose who was stocky in 09 is now apprently undertaking the atkins diet.

Muzza I've seen your posts around, always very PRO-PES, which isn't a bad thing, it seems loyal, but have a look at this...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ispqyM5jvOA

It's the same terrible gameplay of last years, and the year before. It angers me that Konami keep producing the same game every year and loyal fans like yourself (and I used to be one until last year) keep paying for what is essentially an update of kits and transfers. The edit option used to be amazing, now it's basic. It's such a let down and has been for a couple of years.

I cant see where your coming from. Ok in that gameplay vid your watching 2 people who arguably are not very good at the game playing as Germany who are always slow and terrible in Pes and France who have about 3 good players and playing a 70-75% build. Your not gonna get the most epic match in the World. The 2010 improvements are there to be seen by all. I must admit watching that vid the game doesnt look all that but i have seen some really good players and their matches look amazing. There is one i remember where they just kept counter attacking eachother and they were very skilled players and it reflected the decent gameplay contrast to that France Germany game where they've never heard of the term attack.

The game imo has been an epic let down for the past 2 years no doubt with me selling each 08 and 09 after 2 months tops. But in 2010 you can see the flame from pes 6, the shooting from pes 5 and in general the fun quick, sharpe gameplay we all love. There's hardly been a preview that has slated in any way and with Adam's recent message on WENB stating that several of his Fifa fanboy mates were loving Pes 2010 there's so much to look forward to.

I agree completely 100%... I mean why are Konami not working hard enough I have never bought Fifa in my life but this year I might go for it...

just played FIFA 10 it was nice... my only problem is that getting by the opposition was really hard... which is a shame cuz dribbling through players is fun.
