I'm just wondering if this tsunami and nuclear crysis in Japan is going to affect gaming society. I mean a lot of games is produced there. Our PES too. What are your thoughts on this? Will there be long term pause in producing games or just short delays will occur?

Papa

Thank you for reading.
Really? This is your first thought when a fucking tsunami hits, killing countless people?

Fuck's sake man.

I don't think he means it like that, to be honest. Of course, the events over there are truly devastating.

But as a PES fan, part of us probably think about this. It's only natural. We can be sad, and donate etc... but I believe he has made a fair point and probably shouldn't be jumped on. I understand and appreciate where you are coming from though. :)

As for Konami, they are okay; http://www.onlyproevolutions.com/2011/03/konami-japan-are-ok.html

Despite a few problems being caused by power and transport issues, the team are back working at the moment.

As buddhist there is no question that I feel compassionate with the victims of the ongoing desasters there... but MAYBE THE EARTHQUAKE SHOOK THE GAMECODE RIGHT? Finally...

(Those who find some sarcasm in this can keep it)

Can tell you haven't spent much time in the PES section lately. PES is life, man...

the OP was a fair point! why all the rage?

the whole world economy is in turmoil, the days of us enjoying luxury goods such as HDTV's are coming to an end, that's the truth of it.

Say what now? You're obviously right. When I heard about thousands of people dying I thought "lazy bastards, do anything to get out of building HDTV's."

:faceplm:

I'm being facetious by the way.

So? Luxury goods are just that. Luxury, not a necessity, irrelevant to continued existence, mere material items whose sole objective is more to do with bragging rights than quality of life.

It's not a case of rage, more a question of misplaced concern.

Its ironic in the face of death in fields a far our first conversations turn to:

"Did you hear about the Tsunami in Japan?"

"You're fucking kidding ... bet my Sony TV is late being delivered now ... typical"

I must disagree... There are definitely some items of luxurious value whose sole purpose is bragging but come on, you don't wanna tell me that items like TVs, Toaster, Fridges and so would not improve QoL... LOL... You could have said that 100 years ago but not today anymore. It's not like we all want to get back to have-nots like sadly most people on this world are. It's just a lack of effort by politics & co. to bring those "basic" stuff enhancing QoL on our current average technical level to all people. Nobody will miss his HDTV if he spends the requested money for it...

If your quality of life is based on what size/type of TV you own then I seriously pity you.

Here's some tips to improve yourself:

Read a book.
Speak to someone, face to face.
Take a walk for fuck's sake.

Either that, or park your arse in front of a 50 inch Bravia with 3D technology, backlit & optional slave to operate the remote & become yet another mindless fuck.

Your choice...

Fuck me, I'd love a 50 inch Bravia with 3D Technology

I think sections of society find it difficult to really engage reality. They are spoon fed a diet of vapid and vacuous TV shows aimed at promoting the pursuit of (impossible) wealth.

And they say that the Children are our future ... we're fucked :faceplm:

I see you like to read only what you want to read... I didn't talk about the differentiating properties of devices of the same class but of them in general. Sure there is always somebody who needs biggest, best, latest whatever but that's not what I was talking about. You were stating generally that abandoning TVs wouldn't make a difference, but it does. Just as with the Internet (communication), TV is an established medium in todays world. May it be as scarcely equipped as it could be... it has a useful and important purpose today. May it even be that you have the interest to post here about your favorite videogame (more useless than a TV btw) which you couldn't even play without a screen.

But of course, when my world with your eyes is full of braggers and hedonistic, decadent people, I'd probably immediately distort anothers words also. BTW: Is it greed that you are "hating" those people so much? Well, for me I'm just sorry for them... But I don't have to see it all in that light everytime.

Thanks for the tips. Gladly I was well educated by parents and can say 1. I do whenever I go shit or am bored @ work, 2nd my girlfriend and 3rd did I just today, so what?

No thanks, have no Bravia 3D and the mindless fuck-jobs are out though it'd probably be more comfortable to be one. -> Less worries
Your choice...

Not so generous please *lol*

I suggest that you also look at the lack of effort, not only from politics & co, but also from the producers of video games or films or television programs. Why is it so great to have an HDTV when HD products are utter shit?

Well that's on another page, of course! :) There is still some valuable stuff produced by independent people, I think. It's the medium that needs to be there. What it transports is another level and discussable for sure.

If you ask me, I'd say the utter shit - as you call it and I think I know what u mean - is part of the conspiracy of Western Elites and a way to keep people stupid and calm. Football is part of that way to distract, btw....

Also Fick, withdraw your head from your anus if you please.

Thanks Matt, will do shortly. Once I've got off my soapbox that is...

Don't recall anything with regards to abandonment, but I can only speak for my interpretation.

It's not greed, just irrelevance. It's all all pointless mind you, there are few on here who'll really get it.

The main issue is that there are people care more for the welfare of their trinkets than the plight of a whole country who have suffered one of the worst natural disasters in recent history.

I am glad to hear you have a life though.
