Gamespot review - 6.5/10

I know there is a reviews thread but have you seen Gamespot score - I am no PES 10 Fan but even I was surprised.
The only thing I would say is that normally Gamespot take their time and play the game properly

It's almost spot on. As a long time PES fan, for the first time, I agree. It should have been a 4/10 score. To wake up Konami. There is pre release buzz from Japan that WINNING ELEVEN 2010 is also getting average scores, though I won't be surprised the mags there protect their own kind by artificially pushing up the score. Konami will learn nothing unless the reviews score the game low, which is where it should be. The more I played the game, my god, the more I and my friends realized the animations and gameplay are as stiff as a CG movie from the 90s. Enuff said.

I personally think that that is an abomination, the improvement of this game to last years is drastic and i wouldn't even count fifa in the running as a football game, which would then mean that pes 10 is the best football game to date imo.

So anything lower than an 8 maybe 7.5 is a complete and utter joke.

I think Gamespot is on EA's payroll big time this year, they have given the great NBA 2k10 a lower score than Live, now they have utterly badly rated this game. Its a good thing I don't take their reviews too seriously anymore.

killzone 2 9/10 , and ive heard soo much crap about it . I BROUGHT IT. played it
good single player multiplayer was rubbish, and even the gameplay had problems.

then they gave batman asylum 9 where it is more of a 8 or 7

which are in the 8 and 7.9

When you pass does it go to your player like it should or does it only happen 50% of the time?

ok, people that are saying "PES IS AMAZING THIS YEAR" "PES IS AWESOME" you're just comparing it to the crap weve been given for that last 2 years, it is not amazing this year i would say average, and yet again konami really need to change the gameplay. Im not saying that fifa is great but it's the better game this year once again, after 5 years without fifa, im back to it, sorry to say but konami is still giving us a crap game with some improved features. Maybe it doesnt deserve a 6.5 but i would say 7/7.5 and not better than fifa, sorry. Im speaking from an xbox360 point of view btw.

I agree the more my friends and I play the more I see that the animations and gameplay is poor! I agree with the stiffness as well literally!!

i agree with this, the game should have been better, i still like it though.

6.5/10 is quite a fair score for PES 2010, I believe. It is definitely no higher than a 7/10, in my opinion.

The problem a lot of websites and magazines are going to face is in regard to the fact that many scored PES 2008 and PES 2009 extremely well. Too well. The fact is that 2010 is better than both but, because 2008 and 2009 were scored so well it would require brilliant scores to put 2010 ahead of them. And 2010 is no where near an 8/10 or a 9/10, nevermind a 10/10!

Personally, I think I'd score them as such.

PES 2008 - 5/10
PES 2009 - 6/10
PES 2010 - 6.5/10

None of the three have been brilliant. And the improvements between each have been too minor to see more than subtle score improvements. For example; 2010 improved the game speed and revampted the Master League. But the commentary has not improvement. Goalkeepers are still a major flaw. And there is now a problem with response times. Players can acclimaties to the latter but, the point is they should not have to. So although the score initially goes up, it falls, again, and cannot really settle that far ahead due to the fact the game has for the most part stood still as opposed to take strides forward.

Perhaps the fact that online is now playable (although still not great) should see it take a slightly improved 7/10 score.
