Because people have somehow gotten it into their head that Golden Eye on the Nintendo was the greatest game of all time and game developers now are still trying milk the FPS genre for all it's got? Sure, CoD4 and such are good games but it's gotten to a point where every 9 out of 10 games on any one shelf seems to be an FPS. I, for one, am sick of the sight of them.

I don't disagree with you that there are far too many FPS, however it still doesn't mean I want to see TPS. I'd prefer to only see good quality games, unfortunately the vast majority of games produced are actually dire.

To each his own I suppose. Personally I'd welcome a boost in the number of third-person titles. I'd much prefer a few good TPS titles than a truck load of below average FPS titles.

Well, the only true TPS that I like is probably Gears of War. I say true because other third person games like GTA that mix with other genres like driving and some wouldn't really consider them to be TPS. Then you have Tomb Raider that has the whole puzzle aspect to it.

Some new information
ark Thompson of Epic Games was recently interviewed by website Game Rumor. The developer answered some questions about their upcoming biggie Gears of War 2 and details on the multiplayer mode were spilled. These are the information bits:

* COG and Locust will each have 12 character models
* A new map announced, “Dusk” puts players in a smaller, Raven Down style map with locust/cog battles in the distance scenery.
* New flamethrower has a “fuel meter” instead of ammo clips like in other guns, and will jam if continually fired for an extended amount of time.
* Hammer of Dawn will have only 3 charges until it “burns out”. A 4th charge is possible, but it will cause the weapon to explode killing the character and hopefully enemies close by.
* Subway’s trains movement can be turned on / off with a switch. Described as being “the hardest aspect to program yet!”
* A new gametype “Wanted” pits 9 Locusts on 1 COG or 9 COG on 1 Locust. This modified version of Juggernaut has a clock for each player counting how long each player is the wanted. The wanted can only be killed with execution style rules.
* Boomshot has been modified to hold 3 ammo. Each individual rocket has been weakened, however, if you have 2 left with an active it will shoot them both out at the same time for a massive explosion.

Listen up and and stay focused fellow friends, because today is the day we've been waiting for ever since Gears of War 2's video debut on May 10th. Today, we're told that Microsoft has promised to release brand new Gears 2 screenshots and concept art depicting both campaign and multiplayer goodies. Not only that, but EGM's long promised GoW2 multiplayer footage is set to make its debut today as well, showcasing new multiplayer modes, new weapons and enough blood and guts to fill two five gallon pails. Microsoft should be releasing the Gears 2 screenshots today at 12:00PM noon eastern (9:00AM pacific) when we also expect EGM to release their exclusive video (media embargoes FTW!).

Now, get excited kids, because we're in for a bloody Wednesday full of enough GoW2 chainsawdomy imagery to keep you satisfied until November. Oh yeah, we totally went there.

This game looks alright though, I finally got to play the first game at a friends house and it was better than I thought it would be. But why does every character have an insanely large body?
