I got a launch model SCPH 30003 which lasted me 16 months + another six months after cleaning the laser! It went completly in October 2002! I bought another in that October, which put a circle around my Pro Evolution Soccer disk! Took it back, got another one! The fan scraped the casing and got another one! The exchanged one worked fine! So October 2002, my PS2 total stood at 4!

June 2003 - That PS2 scratched all disks but PES2 as I neglected to use it!
Got a refund! Went to Toys'r'us, bought another one! Got home, it wouldnt switch on! Took it back! Total = 5!!

Went to Game, got another one! The FAN was too too too loud, could have broken the sound barrier, took it back, got another one, disk read error on boot, got another one! COMPRENDEZ! PS2 Total = 8!

I sold that one on Ebay for £115 to get a Silver one! Total = 9
I bought A Faulty PS2 off ebay which I thought was silver with intent to repairing it, but it was a black one sprayed silver! I sold it off! PS2 Total = 10!
Last month, I bought another PS2 for SCPH 50003, the black, newer updated one! PS2 Total = 11!! I intend to get it chipped soon! Any Suggestions!???!!!

Laugh at my displeasure if you wish! :)

11 ??????????? man i only have/had one
Nope...if you look after them they go for years. Just take the case off and clean the lens/adjust the gears ever year or so.

Don't give Sony more money you have to. :p

Help Jag! Na im ok Gedo! I have had my current PS2 for 8 Months so Im ok! Keep it away from the carpet and dust around it. Use a can of compressed air to clear the dust in and out of the PS2.

I've got one and it's fine.

You should be able to get compressed air from PC World or maybe even Tesco.
Places like that.

2 years ago, I got my first PS2 on Christmas day, unfortunately there was a disc read error and I never had the chance to play any games on it. It was sent back and replaced with a brand new PS2.
On my second one now. Last year, around summertime, a disc read error in the new one. Sent back.
The one I recieved after the second problem is the one I'm using now.

Fortunately I never had to pay for any of the replacement PS2's, but the bad thing is that I had to wait between 7-14 days for both of them. :(
