I've only ever had one PS2. Bought mine back in 2001.

It's starting to play up a lot these days, especially with brand new DVDs - what with that terrible clicking sound.

Thing is though, most of us will probably have to wait until 2008 to buy a PS3. And I doubt the price will be lower than £300 after the first year of release.

I just hope that my PS2 can hang on until I can afford to buy a PS3. :(

i've only had one from 2002 till now and it still works just doesn't read compact disc's

You must have the same clicking problem, right?

All I can say though is that it's clearly a sign that your PS2 is on it's last legs (as is my PS2).

Sooner or later, your PS2 probably wont be able to read anything at all.

I beg your pardon?
I had the brick since release, the laser fucked, but worked for a while after a cleaning of the lens, then it totally fucked at around the time of the slimelines release (coincidence?), so I got the Slimline and it's been spot on since, no problems at all. It only ever gets used for PES5, I use my Xbox for everything else.

I have two PS2's. One chunky model one which has broken damn, and right now the slimlin which I had for 8 months. Unfortuantely, it just broke a few days back, looking to repair it. :(
