I must say the player models arr horrible and there a bug when glitch a players position his stats don't change. The AI is poor and the defending takes some time getting used to....

But I must say in some weird way the animation makes up for a lot, I wont say it makes up for gameplay but its a bit comforting. Maybe its the kid in me.

What have yours guy experience been like, if any?

Ohh and the dribbling is amazing.

It's because it's fun and not as frustrating as PES. If a game has poor AI, it's not realistic but it doesn't take the fun away. Everyone knows FIFA is more fun and comforting than PES.

thanks for the post Jeronimoe. I was going to buy it today myself, so coincidental you posted this today, but never took the time to go to the store. Your AI is poor comment, as is typical for FIFA critiques, is what keeps stopping me as well.

But I was thinking of buying for the presentation more than anything. Something I can enjoy for a few months and then get bored with if so. Option files are pissing me off, and the PES gk kicks, defensive clears, and headesr that go to the CPU player 97% of the time is the other reason I wanted to get FIFA. Hell, I got a gift certificate left over from xmas for the price of FIFA so no skin off my back.

edit: also thanks Abu for the post - I like fun.

Don't worry about the AI, just think about the online menus and how fun it'll be versing other players, especially in head to head seasons.

And dare I say it, its career mode is better than master league, not only presentation but how its set out and how i works. Not going into detail but its better than PES is every department apart from AI and arguably individuality of players.

Ok I am downloading Fifa as well today. There are just too many cheaters in PES and playing vs the CPU is just lame in PES.

Overall FIFA is a better game. If you wrote a list a bad things about each game there would be a whole lot more for PES. EA need to sort AI, and player individuality and PES will be left for dead.

I was in the same quandary last year with PES2011. So I bought FIFA2011. I couldn't get on with it. That said, PES is more like FIFA this year so perhaps its time for me to give up on Football games :(

I had a quandary back in 2008 when the as was next gen PES was utter crap. I then had further issues as every year hence I spent devoid of a new footy game, preferring the now archaic PES6. 2012 is the first year I haven't even bothered to try PES.

FIFA12 I can get along with, I like the manager mode and the footy doesn't want to make me scream at the screen or feel like I'm being taken advantage of :erm:

Basically, since 2006 I have seen little to entice me to think that PES has evolved while at least FIFA in it's latest incarnation has made some strides forward for me.

Oh, how I hark for the halcyon days of the PES, PS2 footy game...

I can't get along with FIFA whatsoever. As good as the animations are and its features it feels a soulless game to me. PES does as well. PES6 on the PS2 was the pinnacle of my video gaming football love. In terms of what I wanted from a football game, it really ticked every box. I'd rather get a PS2 and play that then the current crop of Footie sims. Aye it will clunky in comparison to the modern titles but it still has infinitely more charm then the guff on the market.

Marry the player- player manager, thru manager progression, the transfer market (including the frankly superb transfer deadline day), the sheer number of players and leagues (irrespective of sponsorship I may add) and mix it in a pot with PES 5/6 gameplay and I'd be one happy lil' gamer.

Won't happen though. Things keep going this way and I'll be dragging out the old Amiga for Sensi Soccer :folarm:

Glad it came in handy and now I look forward to Fifa 13 because the game only has few issues in comparison to pes.Plus fifa has a better track record in fixing their problems.

well Jeronimoe, et al, these posts made me do it. Bought it tonight and only had the chance to play two quickie games.

not sure if I don't like it or just need to get used to it. It has presentation, bright sunshine, but as J said above the player models are weak.

Didn't change passing to manual until the second game and gave me an entirely different feel. As of now I like PES better but I will see where this goes.

PES formation and inserting players is so far superior

one more question about promoting/relegating - how do you do it?

To be honest, I was also thinking about buying FIFA for the first time!
I have been a fan of PES series for such long time, but for me, PES 2012 is just not fun. It is too frustrating. It has so many flaws that I don't care anymore.

Besides, I have heard that FIFA 12 has the slides to set up for a better game play experience. So, let's try...

FIFA, for me, isn't all that.

Once you get past the initial wow factor of the passing animations and ball physics, the game becomes a repetitive grid like chore. Once you 'get it', and it may take around 10-20 games, the games will pan out almost exactly the same. You'll almost certainly have to change the slider settings, which in itself becomes a mini game, and you WILL end up screaming as stats make hardly any difference.

It's also the same goals scored over and over again. Personally, I really can't see the love for this game. PC modded PES is the way to go for me.

Big FIFA player. U can't relegate or promote teams unless in manager mode. Editing is very very limited due to the licensing.

Argee with a point made earlier, the game plan page in PES in amazing compared to Fifa, where it is a complete hassle to move players about!
