i bought fifa thinking that the fifa boys might be right this year and would be awesome.
but basically its crap it looks just like the last one manager mode is just the same with some special tactics WOW! and they add a new mode called be a pro where you have a camera chase only one player wow! oh and the best thing is that you can only guide your player through 4 seasons. Fug what an awesome game.
this game is pathetic compared to what they could have done this is just another fifa game with updated rosters with no surprizes.

atleast with pro evo - the be a legend mode runs till you retire. and you have things to acheive as a player. the only reason why fifa is still talked about is because pro evo hasnt had any online game play. This will change this year and this will be the start of the end of fifa. the only people who will buy fifa will be the uneducated and children and even then they will eventually work it out they are playing an inferiour game.

Hey im a die hard man utd and celtic fan my family is from both towns. my dad even played for celtic reserves back in the day. But you never see me on the arsenal, chelsea or rangers forums/sites.

FIFA has much more than liscences this year. Only ignorant fanboys would say otherwise. You gotta give props where they're deserved. FIFA took a big risk in an overhaul of the gameplay compared to FIFA 2008 (a successful game) and its paid off.
Now its PES's turn... although they're in a different situation. We need a major overhaul from a TERRIBLE game last year. I expect much more improvment. The Demo shows a lot of improvement.. but with A LOT of dissapointing flaws. I never played through a match without something ruining my experience (my players fouling in the box when i dont press a button, my keeper being terrible, my keeper standing up once saved the ball and then dropping it into the goal etc.)
PES's main strength IMO is the fact its first priority is a footy game - ya know, you make ur own formations, you see the stats easily + compare, the stats mean a lot etc. On FIFA, they've concentrated more on looks.. it takes a lot more time to examine players stats whilst in PES, its right infront of you. However, in terms of gameplay, you have to try hard to make space, you have to be really good defensivley because they've improved the pace of attacks, etc.
I like FIFA 2009. I hope I'll love PES 2009 because FIFAs managment mode (due to using real money, unrealistic transfer system, trying to be too expansive rather than concentrated gold) is not as good as Master League. However, Master League IMO has to be more difficult. I'd like another division but whatever. There are bigger issues in terms of gameplay which Konami probably had to address.

You talk like Konami have totally overhauled PES 2009. Erm... wait? No they haven't! What they've basically done is gone back to the PES 5/6 game play, improved the player models (this is expected since we're suppose to be next gen) & got a few licenses. Whoop dee fucking doo!

Some good points there, Fifa isn't that bad this year, I thought it was decent enough, gameplay actually reminded me of playing PES3. The shooting in it however feels way too floaty, the name and numbering on shirts once again is bullshit and some of the kits look off and saturated. PES2009 I feel will be a vast improvement over 2008 however, we will have to wait until next year to get a proper overhauled next gen game, where hopefully they can get it right. I have faith in Konami as i've been playing there games since I was a child and they have created some of my fav gaming series, Contra, Castlevania etc.
