All ur points were valid ones but....

Surely the main differences between the two titles is that one is incredibly strong in the body, depth, and variety of its outfield play but a bit watered down when attacking the goal (FIFA09), Whilst the other is still very basic in its outfield game play but is much slicker and also wins hands down in attacking/defending the goal situations with its superior ball physics and much more responsive controls (PES2008).

No matter what anyone says.....these are the two gameplay factors that differentiate the two titles the most and are the factors that will draw individuals to one game or the other.

That is very true. I couldn't agree more. I was just thinking the same thing after playing more of both demos. Fifa is great in midfield and in the build up but certainly lets you down in the final 3rd which is why I think I will stick to PES.

Well add variety to your game play.... Nothing makes you score the goals the same way.

I totally disagree. I do admit that FIFA has improved 100% in the last couple of years and the 09 demo was indeed very good and worth buying. But after playing the PES09 demo I just thing the gameplay and feel of the game is always far betetr than FIFA. You can play it and you instantly know its a PES game. I played teh FIFA demo and won like 4-0 I played teh PES demo and took 3 games to score which is why I love PES cus its harder and you get more satisfaction from scoreing cus you have to work for it. FIFA does it all for you.

Then you are clearly shit at PES... I find it a piece of piss to score and do tricks. It is becoming more arcadey and less simulation, have you tried to give the ball away or put appropriate weight on a pass??? It doesn't work its automatically moves to the players feet. Hopefully retail version will improve dramatically like nthe08 version did over the demo, but seriously stop slagging Fifa off everybody its an open market and to be fair it is pretty good and more of a simulation than what ive seen of pes from the demo

yeah this is a good point.

Why do we even need this argument on a PES forum? we shouldn't even be comparing the game we all love to FIFA.

If you wanna argue over the two games then post in a neutral forum somewhere like the PS3 discussion boards.

In my opinion anybody who posts on this forum has the right to say PES is great, the best game etc. Same will go for a FIFA forum about their respective game. But to be honest this is where we should be discussing the pros and cons of PES against other versions of PES, not against other football games.

I don't even understand why fifa fanboys sign up to this forum in the first place? I mean, i wouldn't sign up to a FIFA forum just to say PES is great!:erm:

Said like a true, closed mind pro evo fanboy. I bet if pro evo 2010 was brought out next year with only 2 teams to select and matchsick man graphics youd still swear pes was evolvin and was the better game. I post on this forum because i want people like you to wake the fuck up and realise that the only way Konami will pull their fingers out and make a proper next gen pro evo is if people stop buying it and voting with their money!!!

to all the folk who think FIFA is the better game - why are you hanging about the PES forums then?? Theres nothing new here for you, nothing exiting as you already have the better game in your opinions!! fuck off to the FIFA forums then!!:realmad:
Hmmm, after looking on the fifa forums and seeing these comments i thought the pes forum would be a bit more grown up, how wrong i was.

Fifa seems to b the number 1 game this year!
I downloaded the fifa demo and played it a while, i thought this is not bad. I bought the full game and played for quite a while and still the game impressed me. I got the pes 2009 demo for my pc and ps3 and 360 i just wanted to see if there were any differences, some people may think i am easily impressed but on first seeing the pes demo i was just in awe at how good the game looked (and that was without playing it). This was on my pc but the pitch looked so lush, i found the controls to be a little strange at first, but the more i played pes 2009 the more i loved it. I played more on fifa 09 and found myself getting more into it, then one of my defenders suddenly decides to stop chasing the forward and lets him go one on one with my keeper and he scores, this has happened quite a few times now. I have noticed in the fifa game also that if the ball is say two yards from your keeper but 5 yards from your nearest defender a lot of the times the keeper will stay put and let your defender get it, well unless the opposing team forward nips in and scores an easy goal. Anyhoo i know this is the pes forum and i should not really mention the other game, but where pes is concerned going by the demo i believe this may well be the best pes ever. I think it's quite tough to score , but i think this is how it should be. Graphically i think it looks superb too. Hopefully they change the number of cards given out by the refs, and tighten up the goalies.

I downloaded the FIFA demo and thought it sucked. I bought the FIFA 2009 game (XBOX 360) and was impressed.

I downloaded the PES 2009 demo and thought it was promising but had quite a few flaws to be ironed out. I'm hoping that the PES full game will surpass FIFA 2009.

I love pes - even a pes fan boy. I'll be getting this years Pes as always. But last years version really made me sick. This year i gave fifa ago and all i have to say is WOW. I cant stop playing it - 11v11 - i cant get enough of it. Maybe it shows im a fan of football gaming not a pes fanboy or a fifa fanboy.

Good observation on the situation between games. It's amazing how some try to differentiate game play between FIFA09 and PC version but don't explain themselves. I've played both and found that the game play between the PC and console version of FIFA09 to be essentially the same. Therefore, you are not missing a thing in that department. However with PES 2009 PC vs console they both appear to play the same to me.

I find that the goalie gets better once you up the difficulty. However, the oponent AI seems to play a much better defense in PES 2009 when you up the difficulty vs FIFA09. This can reduce the number of times you actually get into striking range.
