Seabass said he put alot/most of his effort and time devloping online play for 09, what a great job he has done, about as good as last year..you still need green green( or 3 green bars for 08) conections to get a decent game....

There is a bug in the PS2 version of PES 2009 the substitution;; many times the player who is to brought in is demarked from the substitution list.

yea but FIFA PC sucks! EA left the pc gamers out.... i dont have a fucking ps3 shit, im stuck with the laggy crappy online PES... and to make it even worse, why is online set to beginner??? AI defense is way too dumb and a 10 year old boy can dribble through them...

I've pretty much had it with PES. I bought both PES and FIFA when they came out and have known FIFA was better right from the off. I stuck with PES solely because of the BAL mode and it being a full career. All i want to do is play for Everton and after 3 seasons its just west ham/newcastle/stoke/hull/boro/west brom making offers. this aside lets be honest the AI is crap. pro evs game engine is now as stale as say fifa 2001 and all those other abysmal fifa games. if this game has any decent level of AI surely the game engine is restricting it. you CANNOT play any sort of realistic football match on pes 2009. you are playing an arcade game wer you effectively do exactly the same things over and over and over again in order to score. i mean everything about this game is pretty shocking. i am in shock because i've been a pes player for half my life. i laughed at FIFA players but now...well now they're laughing at PES and justifiably so. people have said the most ridiculous things about fifa the worst of course being its relying on licenses. is it not pes 2009 u see on the shelves sporting its CL license and its England license and its liverpool and man utd licenses. its pathetic. and then...o god...look at the end of the day this is pretty much the same game as last year. pes players only cared about playing the best football game when all those glorious ISS title wher coming out and saving us from fifa well now fifa is better and pes is staying afloat due to...and i hate to say it...fanboys who want to win a playground argument.

2. A.I tackling - why should i be punished for something i have no control over!
3. harsh referees - konami said years ago they would sort this out!
4. team mates getting in the way of me. stay away so i can pass to you!
5. everytime the computer clears the ball away after i have a shot, it just happens to fall to one their players in acres of space!

My Story:
I woke up one day and told myself: “lets start a new day .. a new page for PES 2009”, so I did I played a match against Genoa (3rd place in the league) it started as usual by me running around doing all sorts of stuff even defending sometimes (I play CF) later on our attack was intercepted, then one of their players lob passed the ball, it was going to my glorious defense .. My defender said: “THE BALL SHALL NOT PASS ME… NOT THIS TIME … NOT LIKE THE MILLIONS OF TIMES IT HAPPENED THIS TIME I SHALE PREVALE… AHHHHH”, so ironically he intercepted it only for it to go “ACCIDENTALY” right in front of the oppositions attackers’
leg :shocking:… you see they were using their magical lob pass which for some reason let’s my defense keep looking up (praying for a lightning bolt to strike the ball) until the ball reaches their players foot or as in this case hit my players foot only to go to them, they scored the first goal…
Later on they attacked again their player struck the ball it hit the post and was going out… I said to myself: “My luck has finally changed”… but alas… the ball hit my goalie then went in they were up by tow, I scored a goal… good for me.:no:
Then I played against U.S Lecce they took me down two times and made me receive treatment in the first tackle the referee didn’t give them a card nor did he give me a foul even though I went out to receive treatment, but in the second tackle he did give them a yellow card, I was injured this time.. so replayed it, and won.
My next game was with A.C Chievio (last one today I promise)they scored in the 44min then after a fierce battle (that’s all what I seem to do with low ranking teams) we scored in the 88th min (it wasn’t me)…
Then... then... well.. I’ll let you guess what happened in the remaining 2 minutes… did you guess et?.. what do you say, you say we won because obviously we are AC Milan… wrong answer we lost they scored in the 90+ min… :crymore:

Imo what Konami have to do next year is beat fifa. No way will that happen. Fifa can only get better as they know where they're going but pes? Their going BACKWARDS ffs and seem happy to do it. It'l take another year just to get to basic next gen football and it'l take 3 years to get to where fifa is now.
If you can think of something that pes can do next year to beat fifa i'd like to know it. Obviously there are lots of things but we all know they'll never do them cos their a bunch of non listening cunts. im sorry but if they listened. JUST LISTENED TO US! We'd of saved them millions potencially! and we'd have the game we actually fuking want! This lot were just surviving off fifa being so bad. Now all fifa had to do this year was make a good title and it beat pes. imagine what they'll achieve if they can really build on this years gameplay. Japanese cant play football anyway whereas the people who make fifa speak fluent english, can probably play football, have watched football and know that football is played with a round ball. Konami looks like they've come from fuking RPG to football. Its just truely amazing how little depth is in their game. Fifa have more modes in their baby finger than pes has in its whole body

In terms of gameplay where the battle will be won next year it will be tough for fifa to improve on what is has done this year , i am still playing pro this year and enjoying it thoroughly. Konami have made the best football game by an alarming distance up until the first game on the xbox a few years back so your comments about the companies don't really make sense. I am still disgusted with seabass for last years game but the game has somewhat got back on course this year although aspects of it have to be improved. I couldn't care lass about on line play and become a legend i just want hem to focus on returning the game to the true football simulation it was. I am loving this years game as it uses some of the fundamentals from the ps2 games which to some extent are still better gameplay wise than fifa 09. I think there will be a role reversal in terms of pro borrowing ideas from this years fifa such as a slightly better physics engine and a return to a more slower paced simulation of football.

Oh my god are you mental? ive just spent the last 2 nights playing PES on the ps3 and we had some of the best pro evo games ive ever experienced. Looks and plays fantastic to me, i cant see why your bitching about about a few superficial aspects of the game when the fundamentals of the game are bloody awesome. Try playing some two player games if you can find any mates.

I think that those who are having difficulty with gameplay are either having difficulty scoring, receiving passes or have a problem understanding how football is played.
I tried BAL for a couple of days now and I must say that the AI and gameplay is really good. AI gives you nice passes when you're in space and there is alot of possession football going on, which is what you see in real football games most of the time. It is pretty unrealistic to be shooting at the goal every minute of the game. That's what I like about the game, it plays and feels like a real football game. It is very different from earlier PES iterations in that regards.
Now the running, sound effects, commentary and the manual control that changed sucks big time, but I still think that it beats PES08 especially in gameplay.
What I love about it the most is that you as a player in BAL can make a big difference in how the game is played. While I was watching the AI's playing it sucked. When I came on as a sub as an AMF, I was able to improve my teams play by connecting passes, moving the ball from defense to offense lines, creating chances and opening their defense and finally I actually scored a goal too!
I just didn't experience that in any other game.

You thought wrong I play for AC Milan on top player and am the LEADING scorer in the whole Italian LEAGUE but to my amazment we are in the 7th place.

one thing is that even in real games stuff happens. how many penalties were awarded that were clearly not penalties? how many times a team deserved to win but didn't. how many times a team doesn't do anything but ends up securing a draw or a win. How many stupid own goals have been scored? a goalie fumbles the ball? remember amr zaki's 1st goal against liverpool, the defender simply messed up. what about the "hand of god"? what about Greece winning the euros by just defending? Hull beating arsenal? there are so many examples.
The game is not perfect. I did not say that, but I think the way you move around receive/give passes, create space and break opposition defense is something worth giving PES 09 a credit for.
as for defending. have you tried to use the pressure (square) button. I use it alot and it forces defenders to make tackles which gives me some control. Same thing with the triangle for the GK.
The point of the BAL also is that it is centered around you the player. you try to win and help the team but your team doesn't win all time. I guess the ML can provide more control over the entire team.
