Hopefully, they will listen to us this year and tailor the game that suits the most important people, the fans.

Thanks for that.. it's good to hear someone who actually knows PES.

I just fail to understand all the people who are raving about PES09. For me it isn't better or worst, it's just different and offers Nothing new to the Gameplay.

I don't think the game is less addictive, I just think that maybe it is the FACT that we have been playing the same game for the last 4 years or so. Things get old, and the PES series is well out of date. I think it's only natural that for some of us PES just isn't what it used to be.

One step forwards, Two steps back.
Well I like pes 09 but as you said, not really an improvement on Pes 6 except for 1vs1 shoots.

Don't get me wrong, I'm with you on the whole "this is the best versions of the series". Because at times it does feels like The best version.

But it just doesn't offers something New and Significant to the Gameplay. I think everyone knows that by now, and all the critics said the same. The Series is just starting to show its age more than ever before. It needs something New.

Still a good game though, but a game that hasn't significantly Evolved in the last 4 years or so. It's only natural that some fans (myself included) aren't that thrilled anymore.

And if you take a closer look at PES5, PES6, and PES09, they all have one thing in common, the off-the-ball Play is straightforward and easy. You don't really feel Involved in How your team moves off-the-ball, and at times it feels Scripted.

It's like the Com dictate things for you, and all you decide is how you will Pass the ball, or how you will finish the play, etc, etc.. But we don't really have a say in How our Team moves off-the-ball.

If we could Dictate how the Com moves our players, instead of Guessing How the Com will move our players.

If we could do that, that would be a Significant improvement for the gameplay. I think PES needs something like that.

^I don't think so. Pes 09 is addictive for me at least. Pes 6 was sometimes fast (maybe my ps2) and shots didn't curl beatifully. In pes 09, the shots 1vs1 are great and realistic. But shooting is not all in a football game.

i think the 1on1 shooting is far worse, and i have never got it to curl beautifully like i could in PES6, if you have any videos please upload cos im interested in seeing if there is just a technique for the new game ive missed.

dont have time to get into the new game now anyway as im off for 5 months travels but in the time ive played it since it came out its become stale, now back to a ML on PES6 till i leave.

dont need a video. What are you actually looking to do? Curl the ball into the net or place the ball?

curl it with placement? its pretty much the same thing. like say Henry would, you used to be able to do it great in PES6 scrapped since then.

Hey, first time posting on this forums. I agree that PES 09 and PES 6 are two different games;however, for me, PES 6 was(is) the best of all the series. The thing is that when talking about shooting, Pes 6 wins. I disagree with some posts which stated that PES 09 one-on-ones shooting is better than PES 6's. It is the other way around, on PES 6 you could actually place a shot wherever you wanted and scored anytime you felt like it. MHO says that PES 09 shooting is programmed in some way that you can't score always; it does not matter if you time your shot well or not, it won't go in. On pes 6 you could score from almost everywhere, why? well because you had to time you shot well and because there was no programming which denied your well deserved goal. l
Anyway I will wait for those people who are saying that PES 09 shooting is better and post a video or something. You can still manage to score on one-on-ones with the gk if you are inside the box and close to the gk. If you are outside, it doesn't matter how far from the gk on PES 6 that was always a goal. On pes 09, that's not the case(I'm not saying it's impossible though).I really wonder what type of one-on-ones they are getting to score on PES 09.

When you shoot. Press R2 before your player kicks the ball. Not like the power shot.

Even Pes 5 had a much better curl than Pes 6 and the shooting in 1vs situations, is best on Pes 5 and this one, Pes 09. I know what I'm saying. I just replayed all the games I have.
You have to press R2 and finish the ball with slight power.
To curl it beatifully in pes 09, go in a straight line with keeper, press the direction in favour of player's foot, and press R2.
I can't make a video since I'm on X360.;)

I was addicted to PES2009 when it came out, but now I just can't feel enough difference with PES2008 - and also the new cursor changing has fucked up the game for me - there's been so many moments that wouldn't have happened on any other PES game where I've not been able to control the right player, the COM takes control of my team's tactics, etc.

For example - after taking a free kick into the wall, I've got used to the fact the free kick taker will freeze (totally realistically... yeah) but I sometimes can't even change to the another guy to hit a rebound. Also so many times, mainly corners and free kicks, I put in a cross and it'll control someone who is never gonna win the header, and trying to change player in the split second the ball comes across is just a distaster - in goalmouth scrambles I always chip the ball over because I am constantly changing player.

It's really starting to grate on me. And then there's tons of other glitches like the keeper sliding on which has been mentioned on here...

It does make the mind boggle when Konami can go so far backwards in some aspects of the game.

Completely agree.. I have been arguing this in a thread of mine, we Barely have any control over Our Team's off-the-ball movement.

Wich can be straightforward and fun at first, addictive even, but after a while it just gets boring.

It's like the Com Dictates everything for us, and all we do is Pass, Shot, or Dribble. If Konami can give us the Power of dictating How the Come moves Our players, that alone would make a world of difference.

first off i have no problem scoring but yes i do what you said and i almost never get nice curl on a shot, placed better than in 08 but still nothing on what you could get in PES6.

could you not take a vid with a camera?
and im not suggesting you two are lying just ive never been able to do it in 09 and i wanna learn!, i dont spose itd be diff on PC?

agree with you totally, although you make out that PES6 is abit easy, but its not its the same as all PES games it does get easy once you get to grips with it. and as for the shooting once you get the hang of it and have a good enough player as you said you can make the goal just as you want whereas 09 i feel you cant at all, i mean a few times ive been pressing one direction to shoot and it shoots in the opposite and scores, whats with that!
and anyway your right in what your saying.
i think its better to be able to score just how you want when you get it right as in PES6 than with ugly finishes and not the finish you have told the game to produce as in PES09

It'll be the same on PC and my camera doesn't take videos good. I only have digital camera (not a video cam). But I'll try to find some good youtube videos if you want. There are for sure.
