Alright folks, just checking in. Thought I'd share this with you's and maybe someone maybe able to offer some advice!
My dad gave me a sweet 12" ACER laptop with Vista Home Premium, so I started installing all the programs that are on my current Dell, setup the media sharing to PS3 so I can just save images and copy them straight from the laptop by browsing the icon on the PS3 XMB (Desktop). Seemed like a dream come true, because as I mentioned earlier I've had 3 USB sticks die since October.
Then I installed NERO 9, restarted and just wouldn't get passed the BIOS start screen. Nightmare. Tried the auto repair function, repeated tries with the same message saying it couldn't fix it.
Got a vista upgrade disc so could clean install Home Premium, but when looked on the back of the laptop, the sticker has been worn and can just make out 3 of the 5 product key number segments.
Can anyone advise me what's best to do, I've rang Microsoft and Acer today, I can't get a new product key as the disc I have is from a friend and has no official numbers on. Do I just have to buy a new/unused copy of Home Premium again and re-install with that product key?
Hope someone can help
