Konami: NO online for XBox!

Their is still plenty to improve on with future versions. For example, complete English division 1,2,3 would be nice ;) Promotion, demotion in a season would rock. Or even the conference would be even better hehe.

If I could have a game that featured FIFA 04 menus with WE7 as the actual game then I would be happy.

Xbox live support would also be great :)

I doubt that Konami will tell anyone that it is/not online, untill about 3/4 weeks before The Xbox Version Comes Out!!

Right, and how come you do not think it is a real kick in the teeth to other console owners that they DO NOT have PES/WE at all???
What is wrong with you???
Has Sony payed you to be so loyal to them??? What's the deal, I don't get it???

I don't understand that somebody like you and many other people here are so SELFISH, JEALOUS and for NO REASON loyal to PS2. Why is such an dissappointment that game will be on xbox (mybe online) and PC??? Why not expanding the game on other systems and show EA sports and FIFA, who's the king in the house. It is EXTREMELY important to have game on more systems, it will improve quality of soccer games, it will bring about more licences, more competition, and people will be more aware of PES instead of just buying bloody FIFA 2XXX.
Nobody will steal PES/WE from you, nobody is saying stop making PES/WE for PS2, they are just expanding it on other systems as well. There's REALLY nothing wrong with it...

And I am VERY happy this expansion is happening, and you should as well. More people deserve to play this game, not just PS2 owners.
And with the potential of other game systems, there's bright future for Konami and PES/WE to be online VERY SOON.

P.S. It is SONY to blame for no online feature for PES4, not Konami. It is truly the worst system for online playing I ever got chance of playing, since they have VERY BAD servers. Even Sega Dreamcast was better IMO...

Cheers.

Hold on a second mate, calm down before you hurt yourself.

Read my words very carefully.....did I ever once say that PES shouldn't be available on other platforms? Did I? NO!

I, funnily enough, own PC, hence me writing on these forums. I also own a Gamecube as well as a PS2. Never did I say that 'PES should not be ported!' Get your facts right. PES is the greatest football game in the world, and just like the beautiful game, everyone should have the oppertunity to play it, regardless of what platform they prefer.

But seeing as PES debuted on the PS2 and has such a deep history on Sony consoles, it would seem that for PESonline to appear first on a console that has never once before carried a PES game a bit of shame.

I thought, that the two consoles would probably get online availability at the same time.

Now was that really worth your big "rant and rave"? Eh? No i didnt think so mate

I think that if Konami only could chose one platform to put the online on, they would put it on Xbox, as more people are on Xbox Live and this would mean more money for Konami!!!

Precisely.Hopefully they can they can read your post and re-evaluate their decision(that is if they didn't already implement online). ;)

Ok, my mistake to pick on the wrong person then. Please accept my honest appologies. It is annoying what people say on that topic, and I'll give you full credit for this post, as it should be like that. Many others do not agree. I think you know that as well if you have been following these posts. They can associate themselves in that post.

Anyways... about online play, I doubt that it will come on Sony.
There has been long way from first Konami football games on SNES and Sega, then going to N64 and PS where it enjoyed it's 3D debut. Probably best years so far (for PES/WE) came with PS2 system. It's a shame that it's online debut won't be on PS2, but online service is just NOT good enough to handle the game well. For PES, fast servers are crucial and lag will destroy the whole thing. Xbox's LIVE service has a lot more potential, and it would be a shame not to use the potential it has. Next step is logical, going online and expanding. With next gen consoler around, potential is enormous.

to hitman2uk, I agree with you that those things are speculative instruments to attract readers. That's obvious, but there's one thing that is good, and I had a honour to hear it myself too this year at E3 at Konami's strand. Microsoft has agreed to cover the costs of LIVE service if PES goes online. I do not see why Konami will not use this opportunity. Apparently Konami has accepted this agreement in the beggining of this month (August).

We'll see...

Cheers.

The nice thing of a discussion-board is that it sometimes gives answers on questions:
I was wondering how Konami could leave a 'bug' like the slow-down in a released game...
It confirms what Konami says about having reached the bounds of the playstation 2.
The game is probably too big now, causing the slowdowns.
So the next logical conclusion is that Konami is looking for other computers to extend the game. I would think a PC fits well for adding on-line, but maybe the system demands will be too big. Just see howmuch PES 3 needed and PES 4 with on-line would be even more.
So it makes sense Konami picked Xbox for on-line gaming, waiting for more advanced Playstation-consoles in the future.
But why did they deny it to me? Maybe because X-box-PES4 will be a month later than the Playstation-version, so they hope to sell some for the Playstation first...??
Yes, I am speculating now ;)

Konami can fix slowdown and the ps2 isn't yet dead yet.Its still got two more years until its semi-obselete.

when u think about it - A whole load of PES3 National league winners who went to Chelsea for thw FINAL all got an XBOX for their trouble. It might have just been a marketing tool for both sides but it tends to give you the idea that the two company's have close ties.

Fingers crossed for online...... on the Xbox, and if I have to give up my ps2 then so be it lol.

Two console price cuts in but a single day. Looks like now's the time to invest in a second machine...

As expected, following Microsoft's announcement today that Xbox will drop in price to £99.99 from 27 August, Sony have revealed that PS2 will be reduced to £104.99 with immediate effect.

Commenting on the price change, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe boss David Reeves said, "PlayStation 2 has enjoyed phenomenal success and the time has now come to go well beyond our 24 million PlayStation 2 owners. There are already over 1000 games titles available and many more new ones - like Gran Turismo 4, The Getaway: Black Monday, SingStar Party, EyeToy Play 2 and Killzone - all to be published by SCEE and titles such as GTA: San Andreas from Take 2, Burnout 3: Takedown from Electronic Arts and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater from Konami still to come this year.

"This new price point of £104.99, together with this incredible line up of titles, will make it both affordable and exciting for everybody to enjoy the fun of PlayStation gaming and will ensure that PlayStation 2 continues to be the computer entertainment system of choice for an ever widening and diversifying audience."

Looks like the Christmas console wars have kicked off early this year - as far as Sony and Microsoft are concerned, at least. Nintendo, meanwhile, have told us that they have no plans to cut the price of Gamecube in Europe. "It is already at a great price and we have a very strong software line-up for the rest of the year including games such as Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Donkey Konga, Paper Mario 2 and Animal Crossing." That's all right then.

Cheap enough to have both now

UPDATE
Today I confronted Konami with two scans from magazines who announced PES 4 on line via Xbox LIVE. The first reaction was that she was taken by surprise and always thought it would NOT be on-line. She told me to ask around about it:
After an hour I called again and she said that 'some things are about to happen' but she was asked to keep things internal.
In that case I think I know enough ;)
