Lag Online!!

Hi Guys,
Have played 2 seperate online games with 2 different people and i am still seeing terrible online lag. My connection is amber so it shouldnt be a problem but its awful. I have never suffered this problem before with any other ps3 or konami games (like metal gear solid 4) but with pes2010 its bad.

I am on my home wireless network but this should not make this much of a difference. i'm really gutted as i bought 2 copies of the game so i could play my brother online who lives in huddersfield at university. And before anyone asks, i cant just wire it up as my playstation is on a different floor to my router. Its never caused problems before.

Is anybody else suffering or having a similar problem? Will this improve by a konami fix? Any ideas guys?

I played 5 or so matches online yesterday, and I was pretty annoyed by the ½ sec delay on button pressing. It makes it hard to do stuff when you have that ½ sec delay on everything! 2 games against the cpu, both lost 0-2. then 3 games against a friend, all 0-0 and ended up with penalty shootout, cause we couldn't even manage a decent attack...

will they be releasing a patch to sort this as i'm certain its not my connection. its works fine online for all games i've tried inc. mgs4

Mayb youv all got crap connections Iv played 30 matches and never get lag exsept on the rare occasion.

Ye for me i have never had lag, Only button delay on about 4 games out of 30 as the connection was awfull!

well maybe i just got unlucky then. i have onlly played 2 games but even so, they were both unplayable. i'm very dissapointed.

Im getting this lag constantly too, its a shame we cant choose to play people who aren't on dial up.

yeah me too. Do you really have to play against one with the exact same connection as you to avoid lagging? I've played against both people with better and worse connection than me and i hate it because it's affecting the games a lot. Strange goals all the time.

It could just be that it's a PS3 thing, because I've played around 6 or 7 online matches, and only had button-lag once, every other time the game has played smoothly. Of course my ping colour is green, but sometimes my opponent has amber, but it still generally holds out a good connection.

I think ive just been really unlucky... played 10 games all against noobs with a red connection bar.

Why the fuck does Konami not let you leave lobbies/matches?

Iv played about 30 matches online (xbox) and its ran just like offline in about 25 no button lag.

I am in Canada. played many games online with European players. no lag at all.

I experience some lags during 2 vs 2 matches. but 1v1 is almost perfect.

I also have a 1/2 second delay and it's driving me insane! i've played 7 games, lost all of them against noobs except for the last one i won, coz i got used to the delay. but it sucks so badly! i hate it. how can i fix it? i play on the PC and have a broad band connection.

Glad its not just me with the button lag! Its absolutely ridiclous and the game is un-playable online!

I have checked on konamis speed checker and i have 3 A’s, so its not my end. PES 09 played fine till I traded it in.

Played 6 ranking games and lost all 6 hardly leaving my half. The other players didn’t seem to be having button lag, which is very frustating as I have yet to have a match out of about 20 without severe button lag.

I’ve now gone on everyday at different times and try a friendly match and its the same result. I do remember 09 being being pretty poor in the 1st few weeks online with defenders not responding, so hopefully this will be fixed??

Does anyone know of any impending updates/patches that will correct this button lag?

I have played around 30+ matches....

So far only had lag in 3 or 4.... I also have had some in-game slowdowns....


But compared to the overall experience, it's just a needle in a haystack...
