Licensed CL Teams

Yes of course it wouldve been more pleasing if all teams and names and kits and stadiums etc were licensed from the start, but they are not, Konami has instead given us a couple of new modes and a big editing system so we can do it ourselves. It will be easy peasy, and you can have fun making all the kits yourself, or you can get by on what you have for the first couple of weeks, and then download an OF from Pesgaming

Does it really matter about the CL. It's more than likely just going to be another cup mode. Choose a team then progress as you would with the international cup, WOW!

The way i see the champions league, its a midweek competition making managers choose who to rest in the league match previous. The fact that there is no league attached to it (if there is then i missed the thread confirming this) means, in my opinion, the master leagues european competition will be more worthwhile.

Fair enough it's good that konami are obtaining new licenses but it would have meant more if it had the thrill of qualification, followed by the need to consider your league campaign too.

my view anyway.

I question what is meant by 'champions League License'....if its not the 32 teams that are competing this year......then its simply not the champions league is it?,...its somthing different all together......its the Konami cup with Nice Hoardings....

Exactly what i meant. and how many times can the entrance music and layout keep it interesting. theres no more appeal for me than the other cups.

The CL is incorporated in the Become A Legend mode though. That is a fact because in the Xbox achievements list for that particular mode, released by Konami, one of them was "Qualifying for the Uefa Champions League" and "Winning the Uefa Champions League"

My thoughts exactly.

I would be surprised if Chelsea were licensed in PES, even in CL mode, as they announced a while ago that EA is the clubs official video game partner and there were Fifa Ads all over the place at the game against ManUtd on Sunday...

I still don't get why they would not include some of the better known German Teams - at least with (editable) fake names - as Germany is a huge video game market and I wonder how they can afford to exclude these teams and willingly accept that a lot of gamers there will turn to Fifa simply because they can pick their teams there.

What's the problem?,I'm really looking forward to playing the Champions League in PES,you have the ad-boards,the logo's,the ball, the music and the all round atmosphere of the Champions League included and lincensed,so a few teams are unlicensed?,big deal.......use the editor, that's the whole point of that feature.

Let me say this,if every possible team on PES 2009 were licensed, what woul'd be the point in the edit mode and this website for example?,I enjoy browsing online for Option Files of Kit fixes, etc and I'm sure many other people do too, you're taking the fun out of the edit mode IMO if you have every possible team licensed.

I believe the Bundesliga threatened Konami with legal action if they did not remove the entire league from the game. So last year we were left with just Bayern Munich.

hm, that would make sense...

I think with this year's editor it will be easier to make up for this, tbh I cannot wait to get started (both playing and editing). :)

Hope Konami has this license for a while so that when they have time eg. next year they can implement it into ML and L aswell... can you imagine that playing domestic league, cup and CL!

wow that sucks if that true that even with fake team and player names the DFB was gonna sue Konami, thats actually quite SAD and a b**ch move IMO....Football
s not bout money its about the passion and the fans...

Before joining these forums, I didn't realise that there was so much to actually complain and moan about with regards to PES. Maybe I'm playing a differant game altogether or perhaps I'm just easily pleased?

I'd rather NOT have fully licensed teams, as has been said Dom-Ination, it takes the fun out of the Edit mode, coming online, searching for kits, real player names etc.

I'd rather do that than have it handed to me on a plate.

Does anyone else have that overwhelming feeling of satisfaction once you've completely renamed a team? It feels great when I do it, so personally, I hope that side of things doesn't change.

yeah think we like editing things but I would prefer them to be done! as you can never get them looking exactly right! and I am on the 360 so doesnt have a patch! thou I do think its a bad do, that if konami have aquired the champions league rights! not to have every team in the compertition licensed!

I find it stupid that they have the licence yet they cant get the licences for Arsenal and Chel$ki surely they are able to have them licenced seeing as they are in the champions league and they have the licence for that.
