I use r2 to get more of a controlled shot from long range, it works really well against my mates.

I put my mate in a state of shock when i scored from just over the halfway line with gary neville, so like eveyone has been saying, it can be done with anyone.

How much space do you need to volley the ball? After the (down, up) X pass when the player flicks it forward I cant seem to get to the ball quickly enough to whack it. In the trainind section I can do it fine but in a game situation it is difficult to know when. I have been playing ISS since day 1 so I like to think I know what I am doing but this is too much. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!

Cheers for the help lads, really appreciate it, most probably none of you can do it either - I dont feel so bad now.

I've done it with Terry, I don't know what he was doing 30 yards out, central to the goal, picking up a Crespo pass, but hey, they all count!

hi

for me i take long shots when the player is running up to the ball.
u know in those situations where there may be a scramble then there, lying in the middle u have a sort of stray or stationary ball. u just have to hold r1 to run up to the ball n unleash ur strongest shot.(bout 1/3 bar) ive had players shoot like they were rcarlos or wat...

There was once I scored a direct long shot off a goalkeeper's mistake...I was using Ajax and playing against Stuttgart, their 'keeper Hildebrand booted a clearance straight to my midfielder Lindberg, whose direct shot crashed in under the crossbar, from ~30m out, without stopping the ball...I was shocked, really.

using someone like carlos or recoba go to training, take the ball just over the centre cirlce bya few paces. stop the ball with R1, then use L1+R1 to kncok it just infront of u then crack it, it soars! then look to do it a game, obviously quite alot harder to get the time and space

Sometimes it's just a matter of pure luck. Ameobi scored a 30+ goal on the run sandwiched between two defenders and he's pretty ordinary. My jaw hit the floor when it happened and I must have played the replay back about a dozen times. It sure was pretty to watch.

just before getting pes6 scored from the centre circle with my cb ebondo (he is rated as SB but is fine in the centre as well). it's partly luck but not really. it's about the timing. just try and make sure the player has a run up when they hit it and get the timing right for how they are running. i think you'll find almost any player has the same chance of scoring really long shots whereas the closer you get it's almost like they need to have better stats.

I have once scored a free kick, a free kick were one player passes the ball and ethe other one shoots it, with Bobby Charlton right at the halfline.

haha i remember starting this thread ages ago can't believe its still going!

But yeh scoring from long range in PES6 i think is easier, i mean if its on target the keepers got no chance. Gerrard for me scores crackers all the time!

i agree with those that say its all about timing, iv scored a few decent strikes from distance on the game some better then others and it is all down to timing

one that sticks in my mind was during my ml with valencia, ball got poorly cleared an came looping out to baraja about 35 metres from goal just bfore the ball bounced on the floor i hit the square button unleashing a wicked dipping driven shit, at 1st galnce bfore it went in it looked like it was flying over but came down with a fantastic dip,

since that iv found it hard to pull it off like that, now when i hit them they have the same effect but always seem to go wid or over the bar
