Just interested to hear peoples house rules for playing master league. I have tried all different things to try and make it more realistic / difficult. This is slightly different to a 'challenge', although there are inevitably similarities.
These are my current 'house rules':
Salary cap: £50m
UEFA Squad Rules: Maximum squad of 25 players. 8 players must be homegrown (developed for 3 years before the age of 21 in club’s country), 4 of whom must be developed at the club itself. Maximum squad size can be exceeded for players under-21 developed at the club.
Transfer restrictions: Cannot sign players under the age of 21, except from the youth team. Cannot sign players registered at ‘Other’.
Transfer negotiations: Can only make one offer. No further negotiations on transfer fee or wages after the first bid. Must accept the players preferred contract length.
Salary negotiations: Can only make one offer. No negotiations on wages after the first bid. Must accept the players preferred contract length.
Selling players: Must accept all bids, except for players aged under-21.
Youth team: No restrictions on signings from the youth team.
I change the rules from time to time if it is making things too unbalanced in favour of me or against me. And of course, its still sometimes fun to just build a team of world beaters, which is what Master League was designed for after all...
