yeh why u wanna start in the d1 league u will miss out on trophies plus it feels like more of an achivement starting from the bottom with a really crap team then building them to be the best in the world but the good thing is it wont just happan after one game it could take years to become the best like me im manutd with the defult players and im one of the worst teams ever

Your first problem is starting out in Div 1 with the ML Defaults... not sure why you'd want to do that, it would be nearly impossible to compete. Not only are your players crappy but in Div 1 you have a game every week, sometimes two per week... so your stamina levels are going to be horrendous thorughout the campaign.

You should start in D2.. it smore enjoyable that way anyway, where you purchase players to make your squad better as you go through D2, then eventually you get promoted to D1 .. you get a nice feeling of satisfaction taht way.

If you do this, I recommend shopping ONLY in the New Commers and the Players with no Team categories.... becuase these players would not require a transfer fee.

Good luck!

thank you for the advice. i will restart again in d2 league. will try to get rid of the old players before promotion. i start in d1 league because i always do with any team. but i didn't know the default players are so crap and so hard. and i thought if i play more matches i can win more points to buy new and young players.

...........................................Reina......................................
Arbeloa/Lahm....Agger/Carragher....Skrtel/Hyypia...Insua/Dossena
...................................Mash/Alonso......................................
Messi/Pato.....................Gerrard/Lucas....................Kuyt/Riera
.............................Torres/Keane........Aguero/Birsa.................

Birsa was a great buy, stats aren't amazing but always seems to get on the scoresheet when playing!

I'm in my 3d season and 4 games away from the end of my first D1 campaign! I'm in 2nd place with 4 points behind Inter and 3 ahead of AC Milan. Unfortunately I don't get to play Inter anymore so its out of my hands at this point, but I need to play well to keep Milan off my heels.

I'm also in the D1 Cup Semi Final, I just won my home leg 3-0 so I should cruise into the finals without any problems.

This team has come a long way, and I did not expect to compete for the D1 title in my first D1 season, but here I am, in great position to take it all! :)

Once again my settings and rules:
ML Difficulty: Hardest
Game Difficulty: Top Player
ML Start: ML Custom team w/ default ML players
Personal Rules: NO Transfer Loans since they are glitchy

I'll let you guys know if I'm able to squeek out the title... we'll see.

One thing I don't know if I'll ever achieve is top scorer in the league. I find that I have about 5 or 6 strikers that I rotate through but not one or two guys that I always keep on the field either due to fatigue or conditioning issues. They all contribute very well, so I'm certainly not starved for goals, is just that my distribution is pretty even.

The top of the league striker, I forget who it is has about 17 - 20 goals, where my top striker has 7, followed b y one with 5, then 3 or 4 guys with 2 a piece.... so I don't know what machine striker I would need... maybe 99 stamina and 7 on the condition chart.. who knows :)

How can anyone waste his life on playing this ultra annoying mode that keeps repeating itself in every f*cking PES incarnation, over and over again. Go hang yourselves on a nearest tree, please!

yeh u cant keep the same player on the pitch fro maybe more than 1 game 2 at the most cause of stamina and always poor condition the only player that can play a few that i know is rooney and maybe tevez they could play about 4 in a row but i dont have those types of players

So I played 3 more games last night, my first being against Fiorentina and it was one of those games where I could do no wrong. I routed them 5-1, it was complete domination from beginning to end. I mean I just felt bad.. I think I had 4 goals in the 1st half. It was my biggest victory so far in this ML campaign.

It goes without saying that I was very confident for my next game against Udineze something or other, but for some reason I could do no right! I was getting dominated, and ended up losing 3-0... go figure, I think that might be the worst loss I've suffered in this campaign... so that was an interesting 2 game span. I got my revenge on Udineze though since I had to play them the same week in the 2nd leg of the Cup semifinal. I changed up my formation to a more conservative 4-5-1 setup (I won the first leg 3-0 @ home) and ended up winning 2-0 (5-0 aggregate) to send me into the Final against... Lazio I believe. Should be good, I'll be very disappointed if I don't win though.

Now I thought that the Cup final would be my last game, but that is not so in D1... it appears there are 3 games after before the end of the season which gives me a better chance at catching Inter who are 4 points ahead of me now :( I'm in second only 1 point ahead of AC Milan and 3 points ahead of Juventus. I have to play both those teams before it ends, but unfortunately won't get another shot at Inter, so we'll see how it goes. That 3-0 loss really put a wrench in my campaign but that's how it goes.

do you guys play as semi-assisted. I tried that, but it annoys me that I don't have that much control over the switching between players. I tried the non-assisted mode and I have to switch even when I pass the ball plus lose control of the GK.

I think the manual mode has been implemented so you can pass the ball and make a run or something and request a pass.

Have anyone of you guys got used the the complete manual? or which do you play with?

I know it sucks. I'd love a mode where its 100% manual on D (including corner kicks and such) and assisted on offense.

None of the available modes make me happy but I go with semi assisted, because I really don't want to press the switch player button when I'm passing the ball to my own guy.

Just finished my 3d season (first season in D1). I won the D1 cup, but placed 2nd with 5 points behind Inter :(

Anywho, I'm entering the offseason with about 55,000 points in the bank and a team salary of only 21k, so I have some points to spend!

I might go after some personal favorites but not sure... I'm going to shoot for the treble in this 4th and probably final season then move on to BAL.

Havent really started a proper master leaugue on 2009 yet. Its basically the same as last years and i won pretty much everything on that (on the hard difficulty). I was Auxerre and started with the master league default players.

I dont see the point in starting with AC or Barca(fags) with their real players (Where is the challenge???)

So im just about to start another one with the default players again being Brondby(on the top player difficulty). Dont ask me why, i just like their kit.

Yeah, I think the best challenge is default players + Top Player + Master League: Hardest.

I would also restrict myself from doing transfer loans since they are broken. At least thats how I've played it... I think ML is good for about 4 or 5 seasons tops, then its just a cake walk. I'm entering my 4th season and I plan to dominate everything so we'll see.

started a master league on top player, very hard level with player development. just got promoted to D1 after 1st season. i keep the default side, and not buy any decent players. i always do this on pro, and i find that certain players begin to get too good like el mourbraki, guitterez, barota and ettori so i let them go. i buy some Saudi Arabian guys 'cos they are pretty useless. This is the ultimate challenge, apart from with no development( but does that mean no players in the whole game develop? that makes no development stupid i reckon)

Whats the point in getting the most amazing and sick squad, as it is no challenge, and your pro skills don't improve. If you play with the default side, or with very average and poor players your whole game improves, and you just get better.

finished 13th in my second season there with AC Milan. Need to buy some quality real players now because i am getting sick of playing with the castolos and minandas of the game

I was out in front by 4 points coming into the last few games, but a run of 3 losses from 4 set me back a lot and now I'm two points behind Man United (who I'm about to face in the D1 final, too) but luckily they're my opponents for the last game of the season so it will be very, very tight. Definitely need better players in midfield, though.

I shant be making Tevez a permanent member either, as he's been pretty average since coming in the January window.

---------------EDIT-----------------------------------------------------------------

This is my home strip for the coming season :D

As I mentioned above, I was cruising at one point, but then 3 losses in 4 put me right back in third and having drawn with leaders AC Milan, I thought I was done for. Luckily I beat Lazio when AC drew and beat Man United 2-1 on the last day of the season to win the league at the first attempt. I had Man United in the Cup final, too. The game was cheating as it ended up a very lucky for me 3-3 and I scraped a win on penalties. Glad it's over because my team looked a bit shot at the end of it all.
