sparky, check the little tab on the side of the max drive. check that it is not in the locked position.

Here is a useful post made recently:

I've written to Codejunkies, they didn't have been able to solve my "USB device failed to enumerate" problem so they've told me to return the MaxDrive to point of purchase.
I've received another MaxDrive with the same problem.
Only thanks to DobermanD from PESFans I've easily solved the problem!

To FIX THIS:
START
RIGHT MOUSE CLICK "MY COMPUTER"
SELECT "MANAGE"
"DEVICE MANAGER"
Expand "Universal Seriel Bus Controllers"
One of the "USB Mass Storage Device" will be your MaxDrive
To determine which one Right Click each one, select "Properties"
When viewing the properties, Under the general Tab, the Location will be ("Max Memory"), this is your MaxDrive
Select "Driver" Tab
"Update Driver"
"No Not At This Time"
"Install from a List or Specific Location" Click Next
"Dont Search, I will choose the driver to install" Click Next
Select "MaxDrive XBox" Click Next
The Driver wil update
Click "Finish"
You should now be able to start the softawre up and drag files across to the MaxDrive.

Hope it can help anyone with the same problem.

tried the drag file onto max drive and it says on both my friends cpu, also got error when installing cd like somebody had on first page: "i cant even install the software, when i put the C.D in it says,

i cant even install the software, when i put the C.D in it says, " the system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and microsoft windows applications."

when trying to copy file to max drive:
"cannot copy smack.max, the disk is write protected. remove the write protection or use another disk"
[dont care as much about cd as i do not being able to drag file onto max drive]

Which max file are you trying to transfer?
Delete the file from the max drive and paste it in using copy and paste.
See what happens.

first i am a newbie and have read all the posts above. dont kill me if i ask somethin stupid aight.

ok. what i am trying to do is to try to copy saves/option files from my memory card to a usb drive. I am using ARMax. I don't know the exact version or build #. The problem I'm having is that when I try to copy a save to from an MC to a usb drive it keeps giving me this "unknown error occurred when copying files". It does recognize my usb drive as it shows a blue drive icon and I can select it. I have formatting the usb drive to FAT and FAT32 and those didn't fix it.

Also I tried copying (drag & drop using windows explorer) some .max files onto the usb drive from my computer and then chose the usb drive as the primary drive in the Max memory menu. It gave me 0 files. It didn't seem to be able to recognize my max files.

Am I doing something wrong here or my usb drive is corrupted? btw i can still using my drive to transfer files between computers no problem?

please advice. thanks

I don't think you'll be able to transfer files that way. The max drive comes with a PS2 mini disk for a reason. You use the PS2 software to transfer the files. I guess you could get it to work if you had that disk - but that comes with a max drive and can't be copied.

Finally got ARmax to work with a generic usb drive. went to walmart got a 128mb lexar jumpdrive. got tested copying ps2 saves from MC to usb drive no error. imported an option file to pc and used pes4 editor to add some logos. put the save back in the usb drive and then uncrushed to the MC.

after all this why my 128mb sandisk doesn't work. i know some people got this to work fine. lots of people reported that they could use mp3 players and digital camaras to transfer saves via usb. my camera and mp3 player dont work with ARmax for some reasons.

FYI: i didn't use any software to transfer saves from pc to usb drive. just dragged and dropped the files. also the max cds whatever they are they can be copied.

thanks tho.

You can convert the .max file to .xps and edit it that way.
The convertor is in the Downloads section.

Not sure what you mean by trying to save it again - save it in-game or back onto the max drive?

Hmmmm.
Try turning the auto-save option to ON.
And if it doesn't save, take out the mem card and give a bit of a blow into it and into the mem card slot. Might help.

Well i already an ISO for it, i basically just burned it on a cd at 16x. I think you can just rip it with dvd decrypter or something similar.
