Ok I've got the xbox version of PES5 and I brought a max drive.

I installed the PC software, downloaded the watson v2.0 update and dragged the zip file into the max drive software. I then transferred the file to my max drive using the software and started up PES5.

I went into the options menu and selected copy saved game data, selected my maxdrive and there is an option file there. pressed the button to load it and 3/4 of the way through loading it says the file is damaged.

I have tried this with a few different updates and exactly the same thing happens.

Now a lot of people are saying to unzip the file, is this for PS2 only cause when I unzip it all thats there is a UDATA folder with 6 .xbx files in it, there is no max drive file, also the maxdrive software will only allow zip files, when you try to drag anything else it wont allow it...

I noticed other people are having this exact same problem with the XBOX version, does anyone know how to solve this???

You don't have to copy files onto the max drive using the pc software. You are able to just copy and paste using My Computer. Try unzipping and copying over using this method.

(I don't have the xbox version so this is just a guess and if someone who knows how to transfer xbox files could clarify that would be great)

Hi! I've got big a problem. Yesterday I was going to transfer Watson 2.0 Optionfile to my Ps2 via my maxdrive. It went fine but when i went in to my memory card it just stood "Corrupted data" on the file. I have tried to delete it but " Delete Failed" just pops up. I can't find a reason why this shall happen exept from this: For a couple of weeks back I sadly came to open the option file in Media player. Then the Option file went to a "open in Media player" file. Then I transfered it to my Max drive and in to my ps2. And then I got my problem. I have not played my beloved Pes5 for a while now and I hope someone can help me with this! Any ideas???
Im from Norway so i hope you understand my text:)

It wouldn't be the fact you opened it in Media player. All you have done is set your computer to use media player to open .max or .xps files. This does not change the type of file it is and therefore would not lead it to corrupt the data.

Sorry I cannot offer a solution but atleast you can not worry that Media player is to blame. ;)

Got a quick question. I've got a NTSC-J version of PS2, not modded at all. Am I still able to use the Max Drive?

Also, if I can't use the Max Drive... is there any way at all to transfer option files onto my memory card?

You can use the max drive itself but the disk that most of us only works on European PS2s. I know of a US version but not a Japanese one.

hey, i'v been trying to put an option file onto my memory card using the max drive. everything goes fine until the file is actually on the memory card. i'v already managed to get a master league team onto the memory card and that worked fine, however when i try it with option files the game cant pick them up, even though when looking at the pro data stored on the memory card it shows it. also when i look at the data on the card from the main PS2 screen, rather than showing the usual symbol for a PES5 option file it has a icon thats a box with the max drive logo on it. im using pro 5 on the PS2. any help would be greatly appreciated. cheers

Use the UNCRUSH TO MEMORY CARD option and the file will be put onto the card properly. The Copy option doesn't really seem to work.

thats how i got it on the memory card, using the uncrush, forgot to mention it. the logo it shows is different to files tht r crushed, its a blue box

edit: tried it again today and it worked, no idea what i did differently. cheers for the help
