FIFA has always been generic when it comes to player movement. I've found that PES for the most part got player likeness down pretty good. Some good examples would be Arjen Robben and his fast, controlled dribbling while flailing his arms in the air like a wild man, Ballack's commanding composure and direct passing, Ronaldinho's trickery just to name a few.

I've played all Pes games and I never seen any "player likeness", if there is i need video proof cos i may have missed it :/
And if u play fifa 09 you'll notice players like Lampard and Ronaldinho move exactly as they do in real life

^True. The movement on fifa 09 is the same. But the animations are better.
There's a difference between player movement and animations.

Konami needs to also do some Mo-Cap on more average players

There was 3-4 other guys running around in them black motion capture suits that I counted.....I would dare say that there will be several different styles of motion capturing being fed into the game, albeit with Messi's being the only truly original style.

Perhaps that is indicative that we will have more than just 4 Types of Movements.

Anyways, do you think it would be possible... like for example, PES has always had 4 types of movements.

Let's say that PES10 finally adds a few more and haves 6 Types of Movements. Do you think it would be possible to Divide all the Motion Capture in different sections.

Like 6 Types of Lower Body Movements, and 6 Types of Upper Body Movements, and 6 Types of Arm Movements.

Do you think it's possible?? To me it sounds pretty straightforward, but I'm not a programmer so I don't exactly know if it's easy or possible for that matter. I guess I should have asked this to a programmer...

If it is possible, I think it would be great, instead of just 4 or 6 variations... we would have 64 or 216 variations between players.

what are you talking about???!? FIFA players run while flailing their arms, like little plastic men that have just been waxed. When you see an entire team backtracking with a counter attack, it looks like 10 copied versions of the same player sprinkled throughout the field.

but you are right though: gameplay puts me to sleep. You have to pass and pass and pass and then pass some more before you can shoot (and hit the woodwork!) I'm hearing some great thing about FIFA 10 though. Still, their graphics look HORRENDOUS. Take a look at Ronaldinho in their screenshots. He looks like a brown version of Shrek. Come on!

^They'd better improe the shooting, especially from outside the box. The keeprs save too much because o the slow shots.

thats one thing that is better in Fifa 09, shaun7...if you get a guy like rooney or ballack you can really rip shots from outside the box. of course they don't usually go in as they're low percentage chances but sometimes they do and it's really awesome

^It could have been much better. i prefer pes' long shots. If only the GK's were better on pes. By better I don't mean save more. They already save enough. But I guess you understand what I tried to say.
