Despite all that is wrong with the last few games in the series, i still buy the game on release day and play it more or less everyday until the next installment is released, but despite the fact that I enjoy playing the game, I still end up annoyed at things at the end.
1.) Automatic sliding
Why oh why is it that whenever the opposition is attacking and I have two players running back, (one of which I am controlling) is it that the player that I am not in control of always slides and brings the player down earning himself at least a yellow card, and it usually does this just as I am about to win the ball back myself. I can't even begin to put in to words how many times it has done this and cost me.
2.) Offside trap
Whenever the opposition has the ball and in the final third, as soon as they play a through ball, 9 times out of ten the defender who is closest to the player (who will receive the ball from the through pass) will step out to play offside AFTER the pass is made, resulting in my defender stuck in no mans land and their striker through on goal. Which leads me to my next point.............
3.) Goalkeepers
I don't know which person from the Konami team thought it would be funny to make the goalkeepers the way they are but my god he/she isn't as funny as what they think they are.
Numerous times i have watched the opposition get into the box and shoot only for my keeper to done one of the following;
Dive the wrong way
Dive backwards
Stand still despite the ball being hit within inches of reach
Dive on the floor before a shot is even took
save the first shot and drop it straight to another attacker who can't miss
Frankly the keepers are horrible and whoever was in charge of programming them should be sacked.
4.) Online mode
Give it up, time after time you tell us (before release) that the online mode is finally sorted, only for the game to come out and still lag, not connect to matches and so on.
Either, take away online mode until you really have fixed or just give up as the online mode is a waste of space at the moment.
5.) Master League
Use real currency, the way transfers are done now is silly, it almost impossible to work out how much players are worth and what they should be payed using the PES points system. I end up just offering huge amounts of points and a huge salary to secure a player, often more than double than what they were originally on.
A bigger player database is required, more reserve/academy players are needed, players from the lower leagues, and most importantly, south American teams need to be added, after all, the majority of young players in Europe nowadays are from South America.
I know I have missed loads of things out but if you tried sorting even just one of things out the game would become a whole lot more enjoyable.
