My thoughts exactly mate. I thought the option files would work on all PES 2009's, be it, R1, R1, R3 or R4....

Yeah someone said they dont work. They did NOT work last year. BUt yes Konami will be releasing a patch for us. ANd it should be today. They is no reason to wait for a later date since the patch is out and done in europe. I have not seen any official info on a US update, but I have not looked for one. It would be common sense for them to have it ready today for us, but we all know how Konami do things at times.

And Benzema... YEs the ps2 OF's here in the states werent the best.. but I think with the huge editing abilities in PES 2009, with the ability to store and use png files.. I'm sure someone will do a big one. I will be editing A optionfile for me, changing all fake team names, fake players. And update kits for unlicensed teams starting with the prem and la liga and slowly with the rest. I will make them look as close as I can, and not spend hours upon hours on it. With all the pngs I have they should look sweet. I will also try to rename stadiums and competitions etc

I wont be doing faces of players. Other then ones on the teams I support really. Nor would I do boots etc. That stuff is a waste of time and I think each person could do that for themselves.

But again I think you will see there will be some decent OF out.

tbh honest, it took me "altogether" about 48hrs to achieve my option file.
You can judge for yourself if was rushed or not?:)

hint: make sure you have a usb keyboard lol

I will be doing the prem tonight and if it goes quickly I'll do La Liga. Then I will want to play a bit, do more tomorrow etc :)

good on ya mate,after all editing- ive only last nite started my bal..and its bloody awesome, with my OF well complete now.
gasc if you do do a file its well worth it trust me.....:))!!!!

I've been playing the PC version since it came out and really like it, my laptop screen is just not big enough and I can't plug it into a bigger monitor at the minute, should have imported the PS3 version I guess. I can't do all the editing I can do some obviously,but I've worked on option files, and it takes time to create teams (I want to use some Bundesliga teams and some of the Euro option files have these include, it will take a lot of work for me to do them plus the normal editing.)

Not sure what to do, maybe I'll wait a bit, I just want to see if there will be many option files out for the US version and how good they are. I want to play online some, so I'm trying to decide what to do. I hate to get the US game with poor option files, but hate to get the Euro version with great option files but poor online lol. I've never played online, will it be bad to play Euro online in the US?.

Well I know mrgametight was planning on doing a nice OF.. Not sure if he was planning on making extra teams.. but I think we should have more options then last couple years here in the US. I will be doing one as well. But mine will be slower.. and I will probably go the route of making extra teams.. Specially if I can find rosters and stats to work from.

Surely the save edit data, is in the same format
I would seriously wait for someone to get the game at release to confirm this.imo

No no, it works. If you have the EURO version you can us the OF. Thats what i did last year.

But i want to play my mates here in the states online, and using the EURO version wont help me do that. Plus I want to support Konami's release here in the US, as only 4 years ago, we never had the game here.

I have tossed back and forth whether or not I will release an option file this year. It all depends really. I cant find any La Liga kit formulas and im horrible at making kits. But i can crank thru updating names and the english kits easily by tonite.

But people understand the European option files will not work! there saves are coded BLES or something like that and ours are coded BLUS. they are different and there is no way to overwrite the data and make it compatible! i tried every possible way last year and I am sure they havent changed a thing to this year. I am hoping the update is released with the game today I would hate to do all the transfers just to find out the update comes out tomorrow or something crazy. Seeing as though some players arent in the game after the update like Oddo( hes the only one i see people complaining about) it would make sense to write down all his info stats, appearance before you install the update so you can remake him in the likeness that konami created.

All in all i hope the update is released today hopefully i will know more in a short time

Yep. there is NO region codes for anything on the ps3, games nor movies. So All games work on all systems

Yeah me too. I can not see a reason why the update isnt availabe right now. It makes absolutely no sense to have US wait for the update. We;ll see tho.

As for the OF. I will do one.. It will take me a few weeks to do all the things that people would want. I'm doing this for fun on my own time, so I dont care it takes me too long.. I want to enjoy the game as well. So I will do Prem teams and maybe la liga as well. The Kits base look (color, style, pattern) doesnt have to be perfect, just something close. Then with the pNG files the kits will look great regardless.

see I have all the pngs i could hope for and more. i even have chants i will be putting on my own option file long as i did it right lol but i know nothing about La Liga to even try and do a kit over there lol. Realistically i could do like i did last year and have a basic option file released by the weekend just for people to use as a base. But i hate taking on all types of requests, i do the editing so my game can be complete to how i like it...i could care less about the bundesliga, different boots (although you cant edit them this year i dont think) and all that other stuff people routinely request.

Cleveland. I am tempted to call best buy or run up there to see if they have it i dont mind paying the 60 even though i have it reserved at gamestop and have the majority of it paid off already i want it now! lol

Ahh ok gotcha... well my gamestop usually has them before noon. So i'll call around 11:45 or so. But I have work for the rest of the day which sucks.

You should be able to find how all the la liga team kits look like from their official site etc.. I dont care enough about it, to make sure every stripe is where is should be etc. If the colors of shirt,short and socks are good, thats my main concern.

true and i just called best buy they dont have it in yet either looks like im waiting until 1. I would have to be at work to and i actually did go in...unfortunately i puked at work( i hate puking) and now im home with an upset stomach with nothing to do but wait on pro evo
