North American PES 2009 thread

I wanted to start a thread for NA PES quetions. So here we go.

I won't have a chance to play it for another 24 hours but if anyone has the game before then can you answer this....

1) is the 1.20 patch/update part of the game and if not is the update available to us to Download right now?

2) can someone check and see if option files created on the euro version of PES work with ours? Doesn't hurt to try.

Tommorow at 3pm im going to pick up my reserved copy at GameStop.
Ill let you know here if the 1.20 update is available.
my guess for that is yes, it will.
I have the Von option file already on my ps3, im ready to put it on tommorow, ill let you know that also if it works or not.

The game will be out tomorrow in stores.. so I'm not sure why your store is saying possibly late as the 14th... anyway... I'll be getting the game tomorrow, and i'll trying a OF when I get home... would be nice if it worked.

Here is another thought... and maybe anyone from the UK and Europe can help us on this one...

If by chance the OF's work with our version, do we load all the save data on before we put the game in the for the first time, since it will update then, OR do we update the game first then add the save data?

I would update the game first before installing the option file personally...however with that said i HIGHLY doubt their option files would work on our systems. They didnt work last year at all. The coding for the game saves and data saves are different than ours. I forget what the actual coding is but there is no way to try and manipulate it either as it just makes the files corrupt. That being said I HOPE it does work would save me alot of time and trouble editing my own.

Game is as outdated as Euro version was before 1.20.
No Euro option file works with it. I tried. Only Uniform edit data (pics) is compatible. You'll have to assign them manually, in other words, create all the kits again.

so there has been no update for us yet? maybe they will put it out today since today is the official lauch date for us?

Well that is crap.
If I import the PAL version will the option files work on my PS3?

Yes but why do that? The update will be out before you get your PAL version and most likely a OF will be out by the weekend. BUt like I have said, if you want to play online in a very laggy environment against people in europe go ahead. I would wait out. We have no confirmation that the update isnt out today.

Yes, but looking around at the great option files from the boys in Europe, are we going to have Option Files that good? That's my only thing, I'm used to importing the PS2 version and using the option files from Europe (which are a lot of quality ones) . I never see too many option files from US. Hopefully I'm wrong on this, I just want to get a good option file. (not so concerned about the update at this time) I want to get some Bundesliga teams and others option files.

So if I get the PAL I will only be able to play online against other PAL users and NTSC against NTSC only, that's correct right?

When toy have your pes2008 us version you can try to put uk optionfile and check if this can work... maybe it can? we dont know...

is there any evidence yet that they wont work, i just find it stupid of konami to region lock the option file data...

I thought Pategato said he had the game since Monday and they don't work, not sure if he's on PS3 of 360 though.
