I think WE11:8 is brilliant, after procuring the ownership nearly a week ago, the only bad thing i can say about it is WHY DOES THE BLOODY REF GIVE SO MANY FOULS?????????

The rest is fantastic, the first few weeks of a new ISS/WE/PES are always the best, its when you notice all the new flicks and touches etc...

I am surely playing some beta version or I just don't understand. Shots and headers are awful!!! Shots are very weak even with the best players. Almost every header goes high. Even the CPU shoots and heads terrible so it's not only my fault. I played on 5 stars and it's not so hard to beat the CPU. On 6 stars it's realy chalenging but the CPU's got big problem with weak shots and headers so he is almost unable to score.The slowdown of course is big dissapointment

Maybe you need to practice a bit more. Because the shooting is great and better than in PES3 and the headers look way better now. I scored many headers and some of them were from the edge of the box. You know that you can also knock the ball to the ground when you head the ball? It's all about timing and positioning. You played on 5* and the CPU can't head the ball you say.... What game are you playing? I'm playing 4* now and the CPU knows how to head pretty well. You don't even know how to head and shoot but for you it's easy to beat the CPU on 5*? Stop moaning and learn the game......

I spent years playing Konami´s footbal serie with my 2 friends Tomas and Maros and we all say that we don´t like this new WE 8. Every time new version came we spent hours and hours playing. We played WE 8 for 2 days and we just don´t like it. Of course you may have different opinion, but I don´t say you´re moaning. B. t. w. are you really playing on 4 stars ? You are loosing on 4 stars ?! You don´t mean this seriosly!!! I think that player who played and mastered at least 2 previous versions of this football can´t consider 4 stars dif. challenging and not even lost the match.

And no, I don't believe that you are playing on 6* because you obviously don't know how to shoot and head. Maybe you'd better start and play on 1* to learn the game mate. I've scored a good number of far distance shots and headers on 4*, so it is possible on 6*, but you are just not capable of doing that. You say the computer can't score because they can't shoot or head. So from hearing that, the CPU does get chances from you. I play 4* and when the computer gets a change to shoot he'll shoot, and sometimes the misses and sometimes they deliver a fantastic shot. Same goes for the headers, the CPU doesn't get to many chances to hit from me, but when they do, they sure know how to head. And you are telling me the CPU on 6* doesn't know how to shoot or head....

I've played almost all the ISS/PES/WE games in the series so I do know my game. I also know that with every single new game in one of those series there is some time needed to get used to the new game. Believe me, I master PES3 and it's prequels.

I finally got WE8 yesterdaaayy .. i played about 8 matches... on 5* and i can tell u that this game and how it plays is totally different the PES3.. i mastered PES3 but this one is different.... the gameplay slowed down which gives it a more realistic touch.. passes however are kinda arcadey but it's ok... the stutter sucks especially in a two-player mode :S hope they fix it for PES4.. however the gameplay is not bad.. dribbling is kinda easier... you can get around opponents easier i think .. but it's much harder to score.. goalkeeper is superman now.. i dont know yet if i like this game or not.. i think now the opponent is weaker.. and all they did was turn the goalkeeper into superman.. and the only way you can score is if it's a second time chance.. :S

AT LAST!!!! MY WORDS!!! This the best short review on the net about WE 8.
No crap talks about how great this game is, just the truth. WE 8 is the best and most realistic soccer game on the market, no doubt about it, but why do I have such a bad feeling about this version ? I think that WE 7I was better.

There were slowdowns and the problem with weak headers and they fixed it in PES 3. They had to also realize that there was something wrong with it when they fixed it. Well, I could say : You mastered the previous versions but you play on 4* and you want me to believe that? I've always played on highest difficulty from the vary beginnig since PES 1 on PS2. So maybe you don't know your game so well. It's a shame about no online play, we could play together and see who's better. Maybe next time.

Come on man. Some people here arnt 'amazing' at Pro Evo/WE. I play 4*/5* on Pro Evo 3 and i find 4* quite challenging. Not everyone should be playing at the highest level, they should play on the setting they find most challenging. Its not fun to play on the hardest setting and get hammered every game.

Miro - no hard feelings man, but it seems to me that you play WE games 24/7 nonstop.
I personaly am not good in WE8, I get happy if I win by 1 goal or more. Don`t tell me the game is easy. In WE7IJ I play on 5* and I easily win. With WE8 is different. Why ? because it`s harder, and the game is better.

My impressions after a couple of days of playing... as u can see i'm still playing the game.. that means that the game is good.. really good too but here are the positives and the negatives...

positives:
ball now has its own identitiy.. have to run for the ball now.. this enhances gameplay greatly.. players now move more freely and make good runs... AI is better... cool new animations (especially the offside animation) ... facial details better than PES3... harder to score full leagues.. (italian .. dutch... and spanish)

negatives:
stutter stutter stutter... bright spots on the player make the player look stupid... keeper seems to block every one on one situation... a basketball referee... penalty decisions are weird... (touch his hand and its a penalty)... one touch passes seem to perfect .. doesnt matter the position of the player .. he's still going to make that pass...

overall: WE8 is a good game.. great game maybe... if they just fix these flaws .. this is going to be the best soccer game ever... hope they fix it for PES4 ..

weird AI crossing ability

am i the only one who finds the AI`s technique to make precise crossings into the box while with their backs away from the goal (which means they wouldn`t even be able to see what`s going on in the penalty box, let alone the positionings of the players) very...very strange? i mean where they come down on the wing then make a sharp 180turn to elude your defenders, run some meters in the direction away from your goal and then blindly serve a fine cross for the strikers. one more thing konami should worry about (my opinion), fix these unrealistic comp behaviors.
also, i know it`s maybe way too realistic for konami to care about, but in the pre-season matches, at some teams (maybe top teams) they could have arranged the comp AI less aggressive. prep matches usually are not played at full power (in reality). my comp AI seems to be a tackle-maniac. and i think konami should increase the AI (like for 5* or 6*) in the way that the comp will keep the ball longer, make his way to your penalty box, stop, pass the ball around a bit, make your defenders feel save and then wait for the deadly last pass or so. i`m playing 30min, always. and for me the important thing about the gameplay is actually more the style and how i can make it look more realistic, goals are not so important. sure, you net some, you get some, you lose a match, you win, but if you play with world players with fine individual skills you`re tempted to try to create a beautiful game, not shooting so much onto the goal, even better having less shots, but then each one played out fine and nice. i`m sometimes sad about the way the comp AI plays some kind of old british kick-and-rush style, no matter which team from which country it is (like spanish clubs don`t play the fast-paced style as like arsenal does), and it just goes pass-pass-pass-run-cross-shot over and over again in a crazy pace.
at the end the comp has far more shots on goal than i do, but only few were really promising (fooling statistics).
not that i don`t like the game, hey, i love it. and no matter how much some aspects bugged me in the beginning, in the end (like with WE7) it`s just a video game and i try to see even the small negative things in a positive light. so i hope you don`t get the impression that i`m a helpless moaner

i don`t know if it`s just my WE8 but isn`t that an embarassing bug of konami`s to have the substitutes in the match wear dirty jerseys from the moment they come onto the pitch? it`s sooo visible. shameful,...but funny, in a way
