I sometimes pick a weaker team on purpose to make a statement towards those Barcelona-lovers, like Ajax, but they indeed only seem to care about their ranking.. Most of the time I almost win against them with the weaker team..

I like the idea about the fact that you win lesser points when winnen with Barcelona than with Gotheborg for example... I would also be great if certain teams could be banned from match rooms.. How great would that be!

ahhh the best feeling beating a barca bully, ive only been able to do it once with liverpool, but in 2 v 2 matches ive done it quite lots of times

I have fun games. I might lose sometimes but still enjoy the game. When I lose against Barca point-grabbing fanboy's I see a darker side to PES.

I played at a pesrankings affiliated tourney in Glasgow the other day. The fact that I was playing as AC Milan meant that there was a total of 3 different teams in use amongst 32 competitors instead of just 3:

Anyways, I played with a tight 4-5-1 formation in order to allow me to play the game in a way that I enjoy whilst not being too stressed by the unrelenting efforts of the cut-back queens.

Basically, every goal I conceded was of the uber-lame variety and in every game I played, my opponent played like a total AI wrecking robot seeking to exploit the game engine with a re-hash of the same old trick time and time again. However, I done ok in group stages scoring some lovely goals in the process.

However, as the tournament progressed, I found the style of my own play become more and more robotic in response to what was being done against me but because I play the game primarily to entertain myself by scoring some cracking goals, I am not an expert at exploiting the games flaws. So in the game I was knocked out in, I just found it impossible to get an effort in on goal because I had totally abandoned my usual gameplay style and found myself making a very poor attempt at a Barca whore or Man Utd slag, but with AC Milan.

This is the big problem with taking PES too seriously. As a pick up n play game, it has huge potential. But as soon as Winning becomes VERY important for whatever reason, it stops being a game and becomes a very robotic and dull AI wrecking excercise and if you want to count yourself as being the best, then this is the way that you must play. If you choose to avoid playing in this way and opt to continue playing for your own enjoyment, then sure, it is still possible to beat even the most 'high ranking' pes-whore with stunning strikes and creative goals (not to mention tenacious defending)....BUT ONLY IF THE AI IS FAVOURING YOUR TEAM! If the AI is favouring your opponent and any gameplay even vaguely 'interesting' is being automatically rendered null n void then the only way you stand any chance is by exploiting the AI weaknesses. Players with high win rates MUST exploit the AI. Otherwise its a case of taking your chances with the AI's roulette on whether your going to have a lucky day or not. Getting the ball into the penalty area, holding it up until the magic scenario opens up for the easy goal is a certain guaranteed process. Knocking the ball about, playing delicate through balls, volley crosses, 1st time flick ons, going for stunning strikes etc is not a certain or guaranteed process as you are largely relying on the AI to assist you.

I think there should be a different points system. I detail below:

If you win as Barcelona you get fewer points (far less) than if you'd won with say, Rangers

If you lose with Barcelona against someone like Hull, then you lose a lot of points.

The more you are the same, or a really good team; you will progressively gain less points each time you win.

I just did a match where I was my beloved FC Volendram (random dutch team) and played a guy who picked Man Utd. I chose them after he chose Man Utd.

Anyway it was a close game, I created some good chances from lovely passing moves, opening up space and using L1 + pass to get my players to make defensive splitting runs. He passed to Ronaldo, Tevez, Rooney, pretty much any of them as my defensive was rank rotten. So in the end it finishes 1 - 1, I took the lead before he ran with Ronaldo to the half way line, down the wing, cut inside and scored. We went straight to pens and unfortunately he beat me 3-2. But after the match my rating went up by about 50 points and his went down by about the same. So maybe the team you chose does have an effect on our points.

Man u slid on those running whores, i mean it usually is a yellow, 13 yellow cards per game isn't too bad cause you might actually injury some. But I mean procession is important but it doesn't guranatee you to win games. I mean I use Spain a lot with 4-1-41, usually the starting 4 backs, Alonso, Xavi, Fabreges, Silva, Iniesta, and Torres. Villa cannot really get headers. So there is like three CM a CDM and a LM.

I also use Madrid a lot. Same 4-1-4-1 but i use van der Vart as ACM and two CM guti and Sneijider. Gago play CDM cause he got playmaking. Heavy attacking down the left with Sneijider close to the left and Robben run down the flank. Occasionally across to the right with Ramos and van der Vart.

I usually have around 60% procession but counter attacks kills me somehow.
It is bullshit that you have 60% procession while two forwards like Rooney and Adriano who scores with one shot.

i hate those barca brasil running whores, i was beating a brasil boy with west ham i was down 2-0 and came back to a 3-2 lead and he disconnected, after that i was humiliating another brasil boy with nigeria beating him 3-0 and he also disconnected, i hate them beacause those barca/brasil lovers are usually the ones who disconnects or the ones you always have lag with
