Overrated Games!

Gotta have a overrated thread to go with the underrated one, innit.

Plain and simple, this game just didn't deliver. I was still an innocent school boy who didn't have the internet and I took all these 10/10 scores as TRUFAX, when in reality, the game stunk.

EDIT - The gameplay is mostly great, the story and setting however is not.

Halo is number one is this regard, just because the console tards have nothing better...I pity them.

Same here, i was still at school that and had no internet connection, so i use buy PS2 megazines just see news about MGS2, man i couldn't believe it how the game turned out when it was released.

MGS 2 is indeed a good shout. Gran Turismo 4 (3 was fantastic) was a huge letdown but not necessarily bad, and I never got the Final Fantasy hype and its clones. Coincidentally all PlayStation games, probably why I switched to Xbox. To be honest though that says more about my taste than about the quality of Sony's products.

Surely this will be all opinion based?

For example I can't understand the love shown for the Final Fantasy Series or Warcraft yet many maintain they are simple God like games. Bioshock is another that was gash. The Sims is hugely loved by many tards.

I agree with the 'Final Fantasy' and 'World of Warcraft' comment, but saying BioShock was gash is sheer blasphemy. I loved the game, the story was great, graphics were great and the whole atmosphere surrounding each level in the game was classic. The Sims was also a quality game, I never really got into the first version but I enjoyed 'Sims Bustin Out' no end, was great.

I'd partially agree on PES 2008, I think it delivers relatively okay in Single Player mode but considering it can't cope with Online play, it makes the game quite useless to have.

Of course I'll have to say FIFA as there are so many morons buying it believing it's the greatest football game to ever grace any console.

Undoubted worse game of 2008 (or 2007, can't be bothered to check) - Assassin's Creed. It's just unreal how that game sucks, especially in comparison with the amazing potential it had. It's too easy, too repetitive, and just not good enough.

Bioshock was quite good, in my opinion.

I really dont see the hype surronding the final fantasy series. Like Egg said this is opinion based, but I just dont see how its in any way fun or epic.

This has Halo written all over it. I don't think any average shooter could give live to a brand new console in the market to what it is today. Many say it is because of its multi-player but I think the likes of Capture the Flag and Deathmatch/Team Deathmatch have been done to death. When it comes to playing games online, Halo 3 is usually the last game on my mind.
