Form or consistency is such a pivotal factor in football, that's never really been adequately covered in any football game. Can't remember who, but someone on this site suggested a two tier RPG style average/maximum type stat model for players, which I'd love to see.

But yeah, and what Sminky said. More 'mental' attributes.

Is this what you were referring to? http://www.pesgaming.com/showthread.php?t=89485

I feel that if Konami should add an element from rpgs, this should be the one instead of magical boots and scientifically modified bananas. I just really miss the days when consistency was an actual stat. The biggest example was Recoba. He had some amazing abilities but his stamina was really low and his consistency was only 2 so he'd only be good in about a handful of games per season. In other occasions he'd be amazing for a few minutes in a match and then completely disappear for the remainder of the match. Once again I have no idea what went through their mind when they decided of removing this useful stat.

Yeh I agree anyone would mess up the ratings if they were to update them every week.
rating update every 6 month sounds perfect.

I'd like them to do some sort of "live season" type thing, where the player's attributes reflect their real life form.

I've got a free tennis game on my phone that does this, so surely it can't be too hard to implement. I guess getting it right would be the hard part though as others have mentioned. This is a great thread by the way with some good debate, it's really interesting to see how much people's opinions & perspectives vary

When you are labeled as the best then it doesn't really matter, also he is right messi has done nothing at international level, literally he's worse than Peter crouch

It's a complete myth that Messi is bad at international level. He has 31 goals from 75 matches, Maradona has 34 from 91 matches.

For Argentina Messi plays as the number 10 playmaker and he's been on fire lately scoring goals galore against Brazil, Chile, Uruguay.

He played well in the world cup and was unlucky not to score plus he had an awful manager in Maradona who decided to remove Veron from midfield and put in Carlos Tevez. Maradona only shone in the world cup when he was 25/26. He was pretty poor in 82, 90 and past it in 94.

Believe me Messi will be on fire in the next world cup and Argentina will be one of the favourites.

As for the most overrated player in PES 13 it has to be C Ronaldo.
90 for body balance, 97 dribble accuracy? You've got to be kidding me.
He deserves around 90 for dribble accuracy, his close control is nowhere near Messi or Iniesta. He also isn't the strongest guy around.

I second that. Messi should have better top speed and short pass accuracy, maybe take away some points from his shot accuracy to balance it out, otherwise he's nowhere near as good as Lavezzi, Robben or even Biabiany in this game.

C.Ronaldo takes the piss; his heading is not better than Lorrente's or Drogba's, his shot accuracy is not better than David Villa's or Forlan's, and most outrageously of all, his passing is not better than Messi's. Even Eden Hazard is a better passer than Messi in this game, and really he's just a poor man's Messi.

Ronaldo is probably quite strong.... he just goes to ground whenever he encounters a slight breeze.

I don't understand why they haven't made Messi faster in the game. In real life there is nobody catching Messi up once he is past them, even with the ball at his feet.

Do you think Konami are unhappy to have lost Messi to EA, so they've made him worse as a form of revenge?

lol, no. IMO, they would have definitely given Ronaldo a better overall rating than Messi's, or atleast the same, if this was the case.

Messi - 98
Ronaldo 97

Konami have just fucked up certain things in the game, there is nothing more to it. To get everything spot on isn't exactly easy though.

Adebayor is my new pet hate, im not sure what his stats are but whatever his pace is it is too much, I watched him at Arsenal for a few years and he was never the fastest player, he has long legs and covers ground at a much higher rate, his finishing is very accurate in the game for a player who is generally described as erratic on front of goal, and to top it off because he is rather tall he is great in the air, something which is just not true having seen him miss so many headers.

As for the Messi/Ronaldo argument, lets face it, giving Messi two more points for dribble speed or dropping Ronaldo's balance by three points won't change a thing in the game, they are still two of the best players in the game and rightly so, it makes no difference who is better. Can we keep this thread open for players who are actually overrated or underrated and not clutter with a Messi/Ronaldo bitch fight.

I agree with mostly everything you said, but I doubt this part will ever be true. Argentina has a great team individually, but they can't play defense and won't win any WC. Nothing would please me more than Argie as the WC winners, though.

They have some popular names in defence.

Mascherano
Burdisso
Samuel
Zabaleta
Demichelis
Heinze
Coloccinni
Garay
Rodriguez
Otamendi
Jonas Guiterezz
Diaz

They seem more than capable of doing a job to win a world cup IMO. Barcelona are not exactly known for their brilliant defending either, despite having some good individual defenders. But because they have such a lethal strike-force, as do Argentina (Messi, Aguero, Lavezzi & co), they are not too concerned over the defensive department. They will just boss the ball around majority of the game.

I am basing my statement on their actual performance rather than their names. Also note that I find most call-ups by the coach at the very least questionable...

Argentina played great attacking football under Maradona, especially in the WC, and in retrospect we all know what Germany had to say about that... four times...

Regarding Barcelona, I don't particularly like their style anymore. They are too intent on doing it the hard way, and look what a fairly weak team like Celtic had to say about that. They nullified Barcelona for two matches, it was only luck that gave Barca the victory in the first. Don't misunderstand, I love watching them when the play flows, but someone in the Barcelona camp should have taken a hint during those 120 extremly poor minutes by Barcelona against Celtic and changed the strategy to FORCE Celtic to play wider in defense. Barcelona play "their own way" to the point of stupidity sometimes.

Messi has already overtaken Maradona for goals scored to games ratio, I wouldn't be surprised to see his ratings given even more of an uber factor next year.

Ratings are embarrassingly bad, it's not just a few players. Online gameplay is basically ruined by it. Bayern is almost useless against stronger teams. Even PSG and and City are miles better.:realmad:
you're probably right in addition psg's defence is a crap
the game might end with 4-5-6 goals pes proves that it's still a crap fifa 13 have overwhelmed pes 2013

Is this really necessary i mean imagine me posting on FIFA forums and badmouthing FIFA all the time. Just cut the crap people and fly away from this boards if you can't wait to write something bad about pes.

Otherwise i'm really interested to see what kind of rating would Brazil Ronaldo get in pes,if Messi have 101. I guess 170 xD

Lucio is better than most prem defenders outside of Kompany.

Released from Juventus a few days ago without playing a league game and is now back in Brazil. I could see he wasn't a 90 anymore, why can't a team of researchers see that!
