I was "only" at week 39 and refused to restart after installing the patch and finding my games wouldn't load. I'm back on version 1.0 and in season two where everything remains fine on the resolution etc.

Pathetic by Konami as far as I'm concerned. The patch is largely useless and the fact it is incompatible with saves from the original version is a farce.

That's not true!

It fixed my problem with 1440x900 (or any resolution above 1024x768)in BAL!

Also my 2nd save game from BAL (the 1st one was corrupted) is perfectly compatible with 1.01...

Yes but it isn't with any of mine, therefore the comment remains valid. In order for me to retract my comment, it would need to work with 100% of saves from the original version.

Similarly while you aren't having the crash anymore, more than enough people are suffering from the same issues proving that the patch is nowhere near the required standard.

It's one thing to say the patch doesn't solve any issues, it's a complete different thing when it does solve some issues!

No, it solves some issues for some people, some other issues for some people and no issues whatsoever for other people.

That makes it, as I said in my first post, largely useless. How many other games which aren't ports from consoles suffer from this poor standard of patching?

The patch stated what it was supposed to fix and it doesn't do that to an acceptable standard as too few people have had their issues resolved. You should just be counting yourself lucky.

If I create a new v1.0 BAL save and immediately patch the game and load that save, it won't work but for you it will. Why is it saving the data differently on my machine to yours? That's absurd.

I understand your point, but it's actually quite a miracle to see Konami realising patches... a few years ago, it was a completely different story...

You'd still have issues, but you'd see no patch...

Of course that's a step in the right direction, its just a ridiculously smal one.

I've edited my post above your reply a couple of times so you'll have missed the last couple of paragraphs I suspect.

Yeah, I missed it...

The problem I believe is nothing concerned with the actual save...

I think the problem is more concerned with the actual image processing than any other thing...

As I've noticed, I could only load my BAL saves if I had v-sync off, otherwise it wouldn't even load (with 1.0).

Also it's quite noticable, that when transitions occur (set pieces to actual game), there's a lot of artifacts. Sometimes, in those transition screens I can see images from other matches I played earlier...

It almost seems like some kind of buffer that wasn't cleaned out...

This changes nothing, it still is an incomplete game... that needed a lot more testing...

The 1.10 patch helped me out for two days...

On Friday me PES2009 was working fine.I played all modes, saved a Be a Legend file, and loaded the file, nothing went wrong.

But today, I can't get into any game.

Exhibition and other matchs crash right after I press "match start".And Be a Legend crashes after I load the saved file, if I try to start a new game, it crashes immediately.

I tried almost all resolutions, from 1920x1200(largest I can run), to 640x480. It worked fine in 1920x1200 on Friday.

Does anyone know how to slove this problem? Or can anyone tell me a possable reason?

My computer equipts:
Intel Q9450 quad core, ATI 4870, 4G DDR2 ram, over 200G of free space on the disk PES is installed. All drivers are updated to the latest version, runing on WindowsXP SP3.

I havent even been able to tick the V-sync option in settings at all. Ive only had one crash and that was the week10 BAL bug, which the patch fixed. Mind you though I have used "methods" to remove the disc check for the game, as I always do. Some of you might want to give this a try to see if it "cures" your crash issues.

How do you remove the disk check for the game?

I've tried almost every way to solve my problem but failed. Maybe this "unnormal" way could help me out.

Its normaly the case the discussion of such matters is against forum rules, so I wont mention it so mods wont ban-hammer me.

However, in this regard Google is your best friend.

I installed patch 1.10 before playing the game since I only got it on Friday.

I play at 1280 * 720 since that's the maximum the game has in my Settings menu.

Error loading the .exe:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime error:

It produces that twice then lets me in the game. Before the update to fix the resolutions i used a No CD fix which cured it, which is why i dont understand why the original .exe dont work. However the new .exe is 24mb and the no cd fix is only 8mb, which i reckon if i replace it may bring back the crash bug.

Is there anyway to fix the error?

This is a bought copy, had this problem with 08 aswell, but just put the no cd patch on.

Update your C++ runtime library. Check Microsoft support for how to and where to get it. If your C++ is out of whack you will get errors like that. Other than that your windows might be a bit wonky so a system check up is in order methinks.

Greetings

For a ball patch I downloaded the other day, all I had to do was put the .img folder with the .bin files in the img folder under kit server.

I tried that with another set of files (http://www.gamingaccess.com/index.php?news_id=15844) and that unfortunately did not work, any reason?

I am really interested in this file to get all of the Cup Image updates.
