It is a shame to say, but after turning res down to 1024x768 I have had a crash free game. I only have a 17" screen so I do not notice much difference in graphics, a bit mor blurry perhaps, but thats all.

I can live with that as long as the game does not crash, but the solution is absolutely stupid. I would like to have settings higher, but then the game crashes.
Has nothing to do with system though.

Core 2 Dual E6750 2.72GHZ
4GB ram
8800GTS512 GFX
620 PSU and so on.....

Just a very buggy game. I hope they fix it in a ptach, but about online play,,,,, I have had minimal to no lag even with people on red connection. So that is better for me even than PES6. Gameplay is better aswell so I am having a blast now that the crash issue is solved. Hope most of you get the game playable aswell.

The res thing helped me, and I hope many of you can live with the lower res and that it works.

Just had the Become a Legend Week 10 crash....

Was so hopeful it wouldn't happen to me....

EDIT: That utility on the 1st post fixed it... but I still get the same poblem every 2 weeks....

Play game... fine!
Play 2nd game, after.... CTD!

I keep using the fix and it works... but it's just kind of tedious:
run fix, start game, play 2 games, ctd, run fix, start game..... etc

P.S: Any clue on the CTDs? And what does the fix do exactly?

Hi guys. Does anyone have too fast gameplay problem? I suffered from this at pes 2008, and I have not bought 2009 yet. I have 512 gecube ati hd 4850 graphic card by the way. Don sweey, I want to thank you again for spending your time to help people about pes issues.
I am buying pes 2009 today, I wish I do not have god damn fast gameplay problem this time.

As abondanzieri says, I have a problem with the game speed, it runs at around 1.5x the normal speed.

I have actually helped a few people out before with PES2008 who had the same problem, but I forgot the procedures to solve it.

Here's my specs:
Vista 64-bit
Intel Core Duo 2.40x2
NVIDIA Geforce 8600 GT (256)
5GB RAM

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I actually had to "roll back" my display driver to fix this, hopefully the official patch would attend to the matter as well since having a driver dated back to 2007 is not ideal.
Most cases, a driver update would be the sollution...

Does anyone know how to run the game @ 1440x900? My monitor is 17" and supports this resolution.

Plz answer this!

If the settings doesn't have the screen settings you've wanted, then try downloading KitServer:
http://downloads.gamingaccess.com/index.php?file_id=32203

Just unzip the package into the PES2009 directory, then double click the "setup.exe" and click "Install" when the dialog box appears.
Next, double click on "Config.exe", and check both boxes of:
"Enable aspect ratio correction"
and
"Force custom resolution", then simply input resolution you want.

God Damn "Fast Gemplay Issue" Again :((

While I was hoping that I would not have any "fast gameplay problem" at pes 2009, different from 2008, game began to run fast again last night, just like pes 2008. A friend (deckz) advises to install old drivers (2007) to fix this problem. Has anyone else tried that yet? If yes, which ati catalyst version did u install? Don sweey tried to help us a lot for pes 2008 problems, I did everything he had advised but could not solve my problem. Could this be an ati driver problem? I did not see anyone having this issue with a nvidia card. I also suspect of my monitor. It is a NEC 22" wide screen. If this is a frame rate issue, the problem may be the monitor. I will take my pc to my friend and try it at philips 19" 4:3 monitor. If there is no problem, I will change my monitor. I am ready to change any hardware to play pes 2009 :))
Game is absolutely wonderful, but it is so annoying not to be able to play it properly.

I Cant Even Play A Game On Bal, It Crashes On Other Modes Too

I'm having a similar problem too.
I can't enter any match, everytime I try to play, the game closes down right after the loading screen, and the mesage only says that there an error and the program must be closed down.

My computer specs:
CPU: Intel Q9450
VGA: ATi 4870
RAM: 4G DDR2
HD: 500G SATA2 and with more than 80G of free space in the disk PES is installed.
OS: windowsXP SP3 32bit
No overclocking.

I've updated all drivers and also updated DirectX, I've tried two disks and tried all resolutions.

Do anyone know how to slove this?

@grapesnake and everybody else having the crash problems: a lot of people said changing the resolution to 1024x768 fixed it. have you tried it?

Sweey

*RETIRED*
I've changed the resolution to 1280x800 (lowest widescreen resolution available, I believe) and the crashes appear to have gone away though I'll be testing it further.

hi,

for me,

1) if I go full screen, i get blue screen of death
2) highest resolution I can get is 720x480 in window mode
3) BAL - I get on the bench and half time I get to come on; don't even get a chance to kick the ball and I get the runtime c++ error...

other than that, I like the game :)

hi deckz,
do you remember which version of driver did you install to solve too fast gameplay problem? you mentioned the driver released in 2007 but which one? thnx.

I was using an Nvidia graphics card, and it seemed that PES2009 does not respond to the latest driver. The "rolled back" driver I had was simply the driver that came with my graphics card.

For you, I'd recommend you to first try the very latest drivers released for you particular model to see if that fixes your problem. If not, you can consider installing drivers that are slightly older.

I emailed them a few days back with the issue and they finally got back to me today:

Dear customer, Thank you very much for contacting the Konami customer support team. We apologize for the inconvenience this problem has caused you. We are aware that the problem exists, and are happy to report that a patch forthe PC version will be coming out approximately by the end of the week toresolve this problem. In the meantime, we can propose the following temporary solution: Please lower the resolution of the game to 1280*720 or below, and there shouldnot be any problem while playing a mode. Your Konami Support Team.

Just thought i'd share it, as it affects everyone that uses the PC.

Tried everything and now about to go to mad :(((

Dear deckz I tried evry single driver but nothing changed. My graphic card performs unbelivably except pes 2009. What the hell may the problem be! I am frustrated...
