Is it just me or does the referee give some really daft penalties? I just conceded one there on BAL where Rocha (playing for Spurs) tackles Johnson...a clean tackle, no one fell over and the ref awards a penalty!
Another time I seen an excellent sliding tackle, from the side-no studs shown-no two-footed tackle, he even came away with the ball only to be informed by the ref that it was a peno!

I've conceded penalties where I've clearly made leagal challanges, but then again, so has the computer. The thing that anoys me most is when you're pressing the atacking player, then your player automatically slides in when a shot is made, rather than sticking a leg out to try to block the shot. That's how most o the penalties I've conceded have occured.

Ive had the same, the slow motion replay clearly showed I was first to the ball and didnt make contact with the attacker! Was darn upset at the time but Jussi saved it so all was ok

tbh, the refereeing in PES2009 is really poor. Shouldn't really give fouls for perfectly legal tackle, and sometimes they give a red, even if you get the ball, which is a bit annoying when you get it in the first 10 or 20mins.

That's another thing. I think I've saved most penalties I've conceded, but I haven't won a penalty shoot out.

i agree with kschan , the ref in the game is proper naf, gives bad decisions for tackles and gives pens at both ends which arent pens , even gets the throw ins and corner/ goal kicks decisions wrong ,admitted youll get better at tackling and concede less bad decisions but he still makes some bad choices

On 2 exibition games so far on the PS3, I've gotten to PKs and shot straight down the middle (low shots) and scored on every try. I don't know if ML or tourneys play out different but this was also a problem in 08.

I just avoid shooting low middle if i don't want to feel like im cheating. Then again Konami should have fix this from last year. I would think it's fairly easy.

I rarely concede penalties. I only concede about one or two penalties a season.

I think if you defence well instead of blindly do sliding tackle
it wont conceded a penalty
am i rite cos im doing it as well

Maybe my problem is the Spurs defence. We have conceded at least 10 penalties this particular season. Just conceded 2 in 2 games there, thankfully Ballack missed his one. Dawson and Schut (whoever he is) seem to be the first choice center-backs.

guys i dont even have the game but if there are couple of errors that referees make thats really nice thats really realistic this is the way it is in real life did anyone see the pk in liverpool-atletico madrid game the other day
