Bollocks !!, what has changed from the demo like ??

End it is way better than last years, its worth £27 POUND ANYDAY

- The through passes were completely different in the DEMO

- There were a lot more clashes between players

- The shooting system was different... especially when taking cross shots

These are the main changes...

Isn't this a next gen game?

Why don't you buy it for the PS2 if you think like that. You can't go wrong then.....

in terms of game play if the game is like the ps2 versions than this is excellent and for me that is a simple fact. Last years game was so poor game play wise this is even more the case.

ive just stopped playing Pes there. The first thing i did was fire onto become a legend mode. Played it for 8 hours straight basically. I'm two games into my 2nd season, Newcastle came in for me there and things are looking up :)

I haven't expierenced the game crashing ** touches wood ** and i can see me falling in love with Become a Legend. At the start it can get annoying as your player is complete balls, but more you play, better you become obviously. I went from West Brom to Sunderland in my 1st season, then Newcastle came in for me

I've played 2 games at newcastle, and i enjoyed those 2 games more than the entire of my first season. Playing at the better clubs makes such a difference. You get the ball passed to you alot more without even asking for it.

I haven't touched any other modes yet, and quite frankly... i don't think i will today :)

i spent like 30 minutes creating my, soon to be Legend, was fun

To a tee what ive done apart from i play for Pampa Blanco (?)

Online is still awful at the moment, Konami really need to get their servers sorted. The rest ofd the game is excellent though, and I wont pass judgemnt on the online until Konami have had a couple of extra weeks to sort their servers out.

Well i have been playing the game for 4 hours nearly, edited a few kits, made an Aston Villa badge, looks awesome, all i used were the editing tools and it looks great, i'll post a pic tomorrow, and i have editied a few kits, also i have done most of the major transfers, only had 2 games so far. Keepers are awful

I don't mind keepers. I hate it when they're supermen. In 08 they made silly mistakes most of the time but sometimes they were supermen. Pes 5 had the best keepers.

Good 'ole ASDA. £27 notes later and a 2 minute drive and the disc was in the PS3. First impressions.... good actually. Playing on wide view graphically its' not a marvel, but replays more than makes up for it. The rain if fantastic. I'm sure i've seen it swirl, something I think i've only seen in the latest GTA.

Gameplay is challenging though, so many passes going astray, and for that matter Evra went missing a few times as well. Possibly a touch too 2008 on the defensive, but the pass and move and shooting mechanics are a huge improvement.

Not had enough time to really explore yet, but I do like the option to quickly select teams used previously and as much as I hate to say it, both the commentary and the music are better. Albeit marginally.

Intend to hit the BAL mode tonight to see what it's all about...

PES has always been like an old friend. Everytime they visit they bring something new, a tale here and there. This year it looks like they turned up in a Ferrari. Could be a very interesting visit...

Haha I liked that.

Last year it turned up in a Vauxhall Nova and told you he had shagged your mother.

First game went well. Outraged at a refereeing decision in the final minute though. For some reason my player decided to slide tackle Kaka WITHOUT my instruction and gave away a penalty. Lost 2-1.

More to come.

I can't remember where I posted this a few minutes ago, but has anyone noticed how much faster the game is now than the demo?

Okay... time to play the FULL THING! Lets forget my experience in HMV!

First impression - the music's good! Shit, where's PES gone?

Anyway, as I said, an exhibition between Liverpool and Man U is my first port of call.

Don't think the stats are much cop, Torres is worse than Kuyt, Gerrard looks average and several other Liverpool players look pathetic. Ah well.

It's quite easy to set up controls to my preference (basically changed it to FIFA's; O for shooting and pressure, and square for cross and slide tackle, with R2 for sprint.)

Set it up for Regular - to give myself a chance to get used to the controls.

Goalkeeping: I tested Van der Sar with a curling shot from Torres, and the save was impressive - pushed round the far post, instead of to one of my players. The goal, from the resulting corner, wasn't the fault of Van der Sar, and other than this, neither keeper was tested. Goal kicks are still unrealistic, with an invisible wall in the way to stop someone blocking the short pass.

Defending: I managed to make some good early tackles, although the defending controls don't feel natural for some reason. And indeed, as the game went on, I struggled the win the ball, while the COM did it easily.

Attacking: My players seem slower than the opposition's, but at least I can vary my run and get past the opposition, something that can't be done on FIFA.
My first shot was a curling effort from Torres, fairly good. Although the game would be a lot better with FIFA's finesse shot.My first goal on PES2009 was scored by... Jamie Carragher! From a corner, very easy, just came across the box, low, and Carragher prodded it in.
Passing seems lovely as ever. Crossing seems quite effortless and simple. All corners I've hit have been rediculously low and soft, they all arrive around the near post, it's pissing me off.
Other: heading doesn't seem very good on this, particuarly after being used to FIFA where you could push the opponent out of the way. In fact I CANNOT beat a Man U player in a one on one heading battle.
There's a "Liverpool Liverpool Liverpool" chant that is shit and irritates me.
I don't think the player faces, for Liverpool & Man U, look any good.
Good commentary... when Carragher scored, Lawro said "Him scoring is about as rare as your humour, John".
AI is hardly world class - I played the ball to Agger with Babel, then pressed L1 for Babel to continue his run, so he ran into Agger, and nearly pushed the latter off the ball.
Player reactions to being fouled are a bit rubbish - you can tell there's a fairly limited choice of pre-set ones.

Summary - tricky to get used to - hopefully will be better when I do get used to it, but it was still an enjoyable match. Now to edit all the Premiership teams (YAY).

Anger

everyone has their opinions. here are two undisputable facts proving konami's idiocy (or mine if someone can prove me wrong, hope they can)

firstly: WHERE IS THE KEEPER CURSOR??? THANKS KONAMI WHY DON'T YOU JUST RUIN THE ENTIRE GAME FOR ME NOW MY KEEPER IS DOOMED TO RELY ON YOUR AI, WHICH FRANKLY I DON'T TRUST AS FAR AS I CAN DIVE (DO YOU GET IT, BECAUSE ITS A KEEPER, DIVE... LOLLLL).

so already there's one minor yet incredibly game destroying feature they couldn't be arsed to implement.

secondly: the lag is much improved from 2008, yes. BUT they haven't learned the very obvious lessons from pro 6. i honestly think they have no brains at this company.

notice how in pro 6, there is sometimes lag. BUT the entire game just slows down, for both players! the ball continues to go where it would normally go, so do the players.. it just slows down a bit.

in pro 2008 they decided a better form of lag would be players TELEPORTING AROUND THE PITCH and THE BALL DOING IT TOO. now did no one, in their hundred strong development team, play 2008 and think "actually the lag system of pro 6 was much better. even fully lagged games were playable then."

honestly, these people are getting paid to work on this game. and yet they don't know a single thing about it. do they even play it??
